I was going to ask what arm meant as wel! Grin oo Tori go u! Come on baby pop out! What a lovely bday pressie that would be :)

Lill, I'm going to beg the hospital to help me bf this time as they didn't help at all with DS and I felt pressured to ff him as he wasn't eating and had blood in his nappies. And that's good to know about the not leaking before! Because i didn't with DS and didn't after he was born so I was thinking maybe I don't have milk :s lol I'll deffo ask for help then at the hospital :)

Ducky how's ur DS now? :) is he all better?

Ducky23 · 19/05/2015 18:40

That's the one lil! Grin

Why was ds up all night? Was it feeding or he just wanted cuddles? Have posted the stuff for you. If you are bf you also need to cut out dairy Shock it might not make a difference but if it does ds will be a completely differnt baby! I couldn't beleive the change in ds! I actually cried because I was so happy!

Have you had any advice about your milk? I only ask as I read something a while ago someone put up, it was for a website called fearless formula feeders (I think?!) and one woman sounded similar to you, apparently she wasn't making much milk, something to do with breast tissue. Maybe pop on the website (I can't remember the actual address but I'm sure if you google it, it will come up)

Oh of course - Artificial Rupture of Membranes!
Tori did you feel loads of pressure down below like a big poo with each contraction due to the excess fluid?

lillamyy1 · 19/05/2015 17:38

Happy birthday Tori! really hope you get your birthday baby! What's 'arm'?? Blush
Cupcake, I didn't do anything to prep for bf, but I've been told to take vitamin D tablets daily. I didn't leak at all before having DS but once he was here I started producing a bit of colostrum, but had to massage bbs a lot to help it out! The midwives at the hospital helped a lot. My milk took much longer than usual to come in due to losing so much blood during the section. It's a good idea to bf to avoid waking DS1, but hopefully you won't have such a greedy hungry baby that keeps you up all night Grin
I went to bed at 11 last night and DS woke up at 1 and then kept me up ALL NIGHT. Literally, all night until DP took him downstairs at 7am so I could get a bit of sleep Hmm

Ducky23 · 19/05/2015 15:47

How did you find the arm tori? Confused

Lill I was told if baby is finishing a bottle it means u need to up it by an ounce. That's what they taught me with DS. Obv I don't know about bf as it's just eat till he's full. Confused
So maybe he's needing more milk?
They say if drinking from a bottle there should always be a little bit of milk left so u know baby is full.

I will have to get some bf tips off u :) I'm determined to try it this time as I think it'd help me out a lot at night as I don't want to be going off making a bottle and waking DS1 up (how weird is it writing DS1! Lol)
Lill did u do anything to prepare for bf before u gave birth? Did u leak any milk before or not?
Sorry for the questions Grin

And I agree with Ducky! Vari flow ones are very good :)

Ducky23 · 18/05/2015 15:13

Well he's 23 weeks now so close enough Grin

The tubs aren't very big but il send 2 or something the if he gets on with it I can send the rest Grin

It's still got milk protein in it but it's just broken down so the body doesn't recognise it enough to cause a reaction.

It really stinks too Confused

Ooh Ducky that would be amazing! I'll pm you my address Smile if he gets better from not having dairy I could probably get the doc to prescribe some.
He's ok with the bottle, he feeds until he's finished, it's just bf that takes him ages. That's why I was giving him bottles at night to get more sleep. I think bf just relaxes him too much Grin
I can't believe your DS is 6 months Ducky! The time has flown by! That must mean Lulu's DS is as well. And Bears??

Ducky23 · 18/05/2015 14:02

Fingers crossed tori!

Lil I use nutramigen, it's a prescription one so don't know if you can buy it. Cow&gate did one but they have just stopped. I think aptamil do one too. I could send you some of ds left over tins to try (he's changing onto the 6month one) but I don't know if you could get hold of any more if he gets on with it?

About the feeding, when you give the bottle, could you use a different teat? It sounds v similar to what ds used to do, apparently when the teat is too small they get worn out eating so fall asleep, then wake up hungry as they haven't had enough. I've heard good things about the vari-flow teats but I put ds on the fast flow ones because he's greedy! Grin

Tori, v excited for you! Best of luck!! Did you say you were at city or queens (if in notts). It's just because I had the best midwife ever on induction ward at city - she was called Katie and I think she had reddish hair Smile If you don't want to say thats ok though Smile

lillamyy1 · 18/05/2015 13:36

Ducky your bat-slap story made me Grin I told DP and he said that he once got hit in the head by a pigeon! He said he was walking along, minding his own business, when a pigeon flew into the back of his head. He turned around and there was an old lady laughing at him!! Grin
Well I've had another exhausting night with DS. He was starting to sleep quite well last week when I was in his room with him for four nights (there's a single bed in there). Then we spent two nights in mine and DP's room, and he slept badly again. Last night we were back in his room but he didn't sleep much. I've been bf at night apart from one bottle DP gives him when after I've gone to bed, and last week he was having a feed then going back to sleep after a change etc but last night he was feeding then falling asleep then when I put him down waking up and wanting to carry on feeding (that's what he does in the day). I was knackered!
He's out for the count now on my chest - typical!
I'm going to try and give up dairy to see if it helps his tum. We'll need to get some dairy free formula too. Ducky, what does your DS have?

Ooooh tori! When will they examine you next? Maybe they will be able to break your waters! I has a problem because I only slept about 3 hours in 48 hours, when I started pushing I for absoloutely exhausted. I know it's hard but get as much rest as you can!

Cupcake. I know! How rude! Just slapping me in the face! Grin

Lulu the wildlife sound so amazing where u are. I bet it's nice to see it all. The most I get is a fox lol. And yes he's looking quite skinny on the 3D scan lol she said he's weighing in around 5oZ!! So so tiny! :) and yes party was good thank u Lulu everyone was pleased to know DS was having a brother but rele wanted a girl! Haha. Ex was there as he came to the scan as well. We are actually getting on so well, like we did before we were a couple which is nice as there's no bitterness.

Ducky I'm sorry but that was funny Grin I don't think I've ever been slapped in the face by a bat Grin

Wonder how Tori is getting on. Hope she's doing well! :)

Ducky23 · 17/05/2015 21:55

Tori sounds amazing! I got slapped in the face by a bat once, I think he must have been poorly Confused I was talking to my friend in the street when I got slapped in the face, I looked down and there was a tiny bat on the floor hopping along. He flew off eventually.

So so so happy for you cupcake Grin

Lulu I had a hedgehog once! I took my dog to the vets and a woman brought one in, she found him in the street being kicked about like a football by kids. The vet said they would have to put him to sleep because he would need feeding every 3 hours round the clock and they had no one to do it, he said it right infront of me knowing I couldn't have that! So I took him home! He had 3 broken legs! He was lovely and he would come out and sit on the garden while I did gardening, then he started losing weight. I found a family friend who has a hedgehog sanctuary and reluctantly had to give him up. Turns out he had a broken nose too and brain damage. He still lives in her house. She said he's the only one she will never release back to the wild due to his injuries. I've heard he is very happy there though Smile
