I have no idea at what age you should usually start potty training Grin I guess is when they can actually tell you they need to go.

Cupcake I had to get new glasses recently.... Bloody rip off Hmm

Lil, I hope he gets a bit more into it soon! He had weetabix this morning but he prefers sweet things! Can you try gripe water for ds? My ds hated gripe water with a passion but some of them like it Smile

Ducky, how did DS's weaning go yesterday?

lillamyy1 · 23/05/2015 06:59

Got another two hours sleep in then DS woke me up making noises in his sleep!! I hope you got back to sleep too Bears!

I totally agree Cupcake, I don't see the point in potty training until you can have a basic conversation about it and the child can tell you when he or she needs to go! I have a nephew who's 2 and a half and he's still in nappies. I don't see the rush. It's easier to change a nappy than a whole outfit if the little one has an accident!

I think the infacol has been giving DS a poorly tummy Hmm His nappies have been really unpleasant since he's been taking it. I'm going to go to the chemist today and see if they can recommend anything else.

What did you think of the house yesterday Bears?

Cupcake92 · 23/05/2015 06:46

Lill I'm the same I squint all the time! I only had them done because of my headache but they said my eyes were really healthy so not the cause of my headaches but said wearing the glasses could help as it could be me squinting causing them. Or they said it's just a pregnancy thing haha Grin

Bears I'm so glad u said that!! I'm in no rush at all to potty train DS. He's 2 in August. I'd happily wait till he's 3 and he's knows exactly what to do so it makes it easier for me Grin but I have 2 friends their children are YOUNGER than DS!!! And have already started potty training! They have been pressurising me to do it now with DS as apparently he's old enough to understand! One said her DD had constant accidents for a whole week but now apparently gets 'if u don't wee on a potty u get soaked' they aren't even 2 years old for god sake! I don't know how anyone else feels about this? I think this is just cruel to the child, let them be babies a bit longer :(
There's no way I'm forcing DS to potty train until I know he's 100% ready.

Bearsinmotion · 23/05/2015 04:04

Hi lil! Up here too! Not moving far hopefully, just we currently rent and are now finally in a position to buy!

cupcake DD is still not potty trained Blush. We are trying at the moment but she just doesn't seem interested. She has used her potty twice, knows what it's for etc, but just wants her nappy on. We are going on holiday in 2 weeks, when we get back I will hAve to crack it!

lillamyy1 · 23/05/2015 03:56

I hope you found a house you liked Bears! Are you moving far?
Cupcake, I need my eyes testing - I'm sure I need glasses, I'm always squinting to try and see Hmm
Up with DS again! I hope he lets me sleep soon...

Cupcake92 · 22/05/2015 19:25

Bears when did u potty train DD if u don't mind me asking?
I hope u find a nice house Bears! :) and wow DS is eager bless him! :D

Ducky I think mines a yoga ball or something haha! McDonald's Argos only a cheap one but it did the trick :p and i remember it being the most comfiest seat in the house to sit on! Grin

Have a nice time out tomorrow Lill! :) be nice to get out on ur own I bet.

Went to town today with DS and had my eyes tested! They have gotten worse and I picked some new glasses which I collect next week :) I rele like them! Tho it's shocking how much glasses cost!
But my pelvis hurt so bad after I'd walked around for 4 hours in town. And it hurt to walk up the stairs lol

Bearsinmotion · 22/05/2015 13:45

So we've had an exciting week! We viewed a house on Saturday which we both fell in love with, and put in an offer. However, we could only afford 95% of the asking price so it was rejected :(. It has kicked us into gear though and we now have a mortgage in principle form and know exactly how much we can borrow. I'm just off to see another house now, with DS in tow! We need to move this year to ensure we can register DD at school so the pressure is on.

In other news, DS is trying to crawl! He is 12 weeks Hmm. It won't be long before he is mobile enough to cause trouble!

Ducky23 · 22/05/2015 12:15

Great Smile hope it works! And have a nice time!

Great plan Cupcake, and I'm 100% sure it will happen for you Smile
Ducky, the milk has just arrived! Thank you soooo much!! Flowers I'm going out for a friend's birthday tomorrow night so will express some breast milk and DP can also give DS a couple of bottles of the formula so I won't have to worry about rushing home Smile

Ducky23 · 22/05/2015 10:27

I loved my birth ball!! really it's just a cheap exercise ball

Cupcake that sounds like a good plan you have!!

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 22/05/2015 10:04

Lill I would love to eventually have another :) 3 children sound nice. When these 2 are at school and I've married someone wonderful then have one more! :) the only thing that puts me off pregnancy or that would put me off is if I had another csection.
I'll have to get my birth ball out the attic for later in my pregnancy :p

lillamyy1 · 22/05/2015 09:19

Actually come to think of it I'd been sitting on my birth ball lots! And having a little stroll every day... That's the only thing I can think of that could have helped it.

lillamyy1 · 22/05/2015 09:18

I hope you get to see a physio soon cupcake! I have heard SPD starts earlier and gets worse with each pregnancy Confused That and the morning sickness reeeeally put me off having another baby Sad
My SPD got loads better towards the end of my pregnancy... No idea why Hmm

Cupcake92 · 22/05/2015 08:07

Lill I have my doctors appt on Tuesday so hoping he refers me straight for physio. And I am using a pillow between the knees but it's a very flat pillow as its old and my only spare so isn't doing much good lol Grin

Lulu that's great :) it'll be nice for u to have the year off with DS. If u get him into nursery near the end, maybe 2 months before he'll be very settled by the time u go back to work and ull also be able to have those couple of months having some u time :) Lulu yes I did have this with DS but I had it a lot later on, but it was extremely bad with DS as I didn't have physio or anything and ended up not being able to walk or lie down, I slept sat upright on the sofa for the whole of my last month of pregnancy. I don't want to be like that again this time.

Ducky bless him! They will do a lot of gagging whilst weaning! It's so scary isn't it! I hated DS doing it as I panicked lol.
And I've not even been referred yet, its taken 2 weeks for a doctors appt ! Hmm u have to wait so long just to get in these days. I'm hoping I don't have to wait long for physio !

Ducky23 · 21/05/2015 22:52

Lil, he was meant to have breakfast, but his feeding was all over the place today! But he had a banana at lunch time! I cut it into fingers and he very easily grabbed one and got it straight into his mouth, he was sucking it at first then a bit broke off and he sucked it down and started gagging Confused I shit myself he brought it back up quickly though. Towards the end he got the hang of it tho.

Wooooo lulu Grin are you happy with your decision?

Oh cupcake, that sounds awful! Where are you at in terms of your physio referral?

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 21/05/2015 22:36

Cupcake, that sounds awful. Does a normal pillow help? Did you have this last time?

LuluJakey1 · 21/05/2015 22:34

Decision made. I am taking a full year off. DH starts his new job in September and that will be stressful enough without me going back to work and Ds starting nursery. I told the Head today who was lovely.

lillamyy1 · 21/05/2015 21:48

Oh cupcake Flowers Have you tried putting just a normal pillow between your legs in bed? That helped me a lot. Also when I went to the physio she said don't sit cross legged or put weight on just one leg - eg when you put on pants or trousers, don't stand on one leg but sit down to do it. When you stand up or sit down, engage your pelvic floor muscles, glutes and deep abdominals because it will take the pressure off your pelvic joints.

Cupcake92 · 21/05/2015 21:15

Hope everyone enjoyed there baby groups today! :)

Lill it was worse today, it was hard to sit on the chair at work as my hips were aching so much I had to keep standing up and walking round. I was so thankful to get home and get on the sofa lol!
It's getting worse and it's annoying, in bed at night it's awful and I wake up every time I need to turn over and I have to literally sit up and then turn and lie down. Today my mom said I looked awful like I'd not slept on days lol Grin honestly the bags under my eyes look so bad!! Confused

I need to buy my pregnancy pillow! But have to wait for pay day which is next week!

lillamyy1 · 21/05/2015 17:51

We went to a new group today too - it was for tiny babies to preschoolers so a big rowdy mixture! Lots of lovely people there Smile
Has DS had some food today Ducky?
Cupcake, I really feel for you with your PGP Flowers is it any better today?
Well done with the move Siarie! What are your first impressions of your new neighbourhood?
I've just been to have my hair cut! It was really long and it's naturally very thick so I'd been just putting it in a ponytail every day since DS arrived as I've had no time to sort it out or even brush it between washes Blush
I've had loads of the weight taken out and it's now in a medium-length bob - still just long enough to tie back if I want to. I feel much better for it!

Siarie · 21/05/2015 09:10

Yummy mummy competitive would entertain me, I'd be intentionally controversial to see how everyone reacted ha!

I was just looking up groups myself, there is a NCT group that looks close by.

Moving was really hard work, only reason we did it so quickly was because DH took a day off to help. So we had s rotation going and dad will sleep for a few hours between feeds some days.

Going to take dd out to get her passport photos later today!

Ducky23 · 21/05/2015 07:35

This group seemed really relaxed, which I was surprised about. I was expecting them all to be a big yummy mummy! All the ladies are a bit older than me but have been v nice. We might go and try out another one today.

Was going to try weetabix today for breakfast. But he slept until 5.30 this morning (longest he has gone yet!) and I have him a small feed and he's still not hungry! She said I have to give him his full bottle first and then wait for an hour or so.

lillamyy1 · 21/05/2015 05:24

Ducky, I'll be very excited when it's time to wean DS, thinking up lots of different delicious meals for him Grin
Keep at it Tori, I found bf so much harder than I expected but if it's something you want to do and if you've got the support it's worth persevering. If it takes a while and DS is getting hungry there's no shame in topping up with formula!
