I've still got about a week to go before I can POAS. DH and I have been trying for about 5 months, but I have very irregular cycles so it's all really hard to judge. I usually go about 2 weeks between periods so following that, AF should be due to arrive before the end of this week. But I'm thinking that would be too early to test and am very impatient! I've also been taking agnus castus this month on the advice of a medical friend so I'm feeling tentatively hopeful. Anyone around who wants to wait it out with me and not read too much into every symptom and definitely not take a test every day this week?

red sorry af came - it's gutting every time isn't it? Hopefully by tomorrow you'll be calculating when dtd#1 will be for next cycle and feeling all positive :)

birchy ttc costs a fortune! One reason why I've bought a thermometer and am hoping to get to grips with charting as I can't keep buying endless boxes of OPKs!

diamond , and everyone else, thank you for the hand-holding. I feel much better since chatting to DH this evening. We're feeling thankful that the GP has moved so quickly and we'll hold off worrying until we know the results of the blood test (absolutely no googling 'early menopause' for me tonight Confused )

fuzzy and haquoi I don't know much about it but a chemical pregnancy sounds so heart-breaking - you wait and wait for that positive line only for it to be snatched away from you. For a chemical pregnancy to happen, does fertilisation happen but not implantation? (Sorry for lack of knowledge!)

remember hope all goes well for you and your DH tomorrow.

haqoui so pleased you enjoyed your holiday! We had two instances of dtd outside of fertile window last month and it was great! Felt like we reassured each other that we want each other for more than just pro-creation! Have you tested again or are you just gonna wait it out now?

findingmyfeet12 · 28/05/2015 20:20

Hello again - sorry I haven't caught up with reading the stuff I've missed yet. I was feeling down and didn't want to go on about it too much on here. I hope you're all doing well and feeling upbeat.

I'm in a better frame of mind today. Just waiting for af to make an appearance so I can start my second clomid cycle. Had a load of creamy cm today - it shocked me a bit as there was so much of it. Nipples are still sensitive and one of them has been sticking out for over a week continuously and is actually cracked (sorry for tmi).

haquoi123 · 28/05/2015 20:01

birchy, loving your GP! Although I've heard some horror stories - one GP told me a couple came to him (teachers!) and said they'd been trying for two years, to no avail. So he was asking them about how often they dtd, etc., and realised that because they wanted the baby born at a certain time, they'd only tried for one month in each year...!!!

red, sorry about AF, that sucks. How're you holding up?

fuzzy I had a chemical pg last cycle as well, I know just how crap it is. That's on the back of a 19 week late mc last year - there's less time to have got your hopes up but it's still a massive blow. Hope you've both got support.

diamond, my holiday went well, thanks. It was very short, but good enough to feel slightly revived :) DH and I dtd yesterday - it was lovely, no pressure for ttc! Hope you enjoy your night tonight :)

remember, I have my fingers crossed for you - what birchy said is positive. Let us know when you poas, you have the patience of a saint!

Cd42 (12 days late) and counting! I got some cramps while dtd yesterday and the ewcm had the teeniest tinge of brown, so something's happening! Argh, hurry up (AF or bfp, I don't care anymore)!!

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 18:50

birchy - your gp sounds amazing!

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 18:49

red - so sorry to hear that. Gutted for you, I really am. It is devastating when it appears. I hate it early too. Try not to feel too down, easier said than done I know x

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 18:45

birchy - you're funny!! Not telling dh about the price of things is definitely what we do in our house Grin, if my dh had a clue how much I'd spent on ovulation kits, vitamins and pregnancy tests he'd think I was crazy (which I probably am!) Grin I too could have bought lots of pairs of shoes for what I forked out so far!! And shoes would have been much better as nothing I've bought so far has made a bloody scrap of difference - I'm still nowhere near being pregnant!
fuzzy - I'm the same with symptom spotting too. I bet it was hard after your dp had been so thrilled too, but just think about your bfp which will happen soon and focus on that Smile
remember!! You're so calm! Test soon - I can't wait to hear!! Don't worry about dh sample, I've heard that too - they just prefer to do it face to face, don't worry

Red193 · 28/05/2015 18:05

I'm out! AF arrived a day early!

birchygoo · 28/05/2015 17:58

remember I seen on a thread here that someone else said you always have to speak to doctor for result as they are complicated to read and not to read to much into it. Unfortunately I can't tell you as dh kit is still in bathroom unused - we are waiting to see result this month.

Although when GP gave it to us she said it is not unusual to have a low result one time an that it would just be repeated. Interestinly she said that sperm take about 3 months to be made so it could be something 3 months ago that is just affecting sperm that month. I thought sperm were instant! Every day is a school day!! So try not to worry until you need to worry as it may all be nothing!

I'm so thankful I seem to have such a good GP she really took the time to explain everything - even that having sex 3 times a week means penetration LOL

Rememberallball · 28/05/2015 17:37

Hi Ladies,

Didn't test this am as DP and I decided to have a lie-in before I had to go to work and I didn't get round to it!! Will have to do one before I go out to work in a bit.

Getting stressed here as, yesterday, DP rang GP surgery for result of his amen analysis sample last week and receptionist said he's to make an appointment to see GP and wouldn't say anything more. Now I'm worried it's not good news as I'd have thought GP would say all ok if it was. Have managed to get an appointment for next Wednesday morning at 8:30 but am stressing about it - and probably will until next Wednesday!!

fuzzywuzzy · 28/05/2015 17:04

Thank you Diamond. I'm trying not to symptom spot (and failing, I have every symptom ever, and none all at the same time). Felt really sad for DP he was so thrilled when I got the positive. Onwards and upwards.

With OPK's they give out different readings depending on how close to ov you are, really think it can be missed, I know I began OV Sunday evening I could feel it and had ewcm but the CBFM didn't show peak till next morning when I was supposed to test, then it automatically gives another peak the following day then a high.
To know exactly think you'd need to POAS several times a day, I bet it would give different readings, bet mine would have been positive the evening of Sunday whereas in the morning after it was showing as peak.

birchygoo · 28/05/2015 16:53

fuzzy you have just explained - I think i did use one of those - the clear blue one that gives fixed and flashing smileys. I am nearly sure last cycle that I got a smiley last month though when I did same thing (Im only using them up as I have about 10 left over from when I got cbfm) so who knows what happened there. I am also using the same little plastic end bit from a previous cycle - which I also dont think you are suppose to do lol but I just cant bring myself to throw away sticks I haven't pee'd on (oh dear what have I become).

diamond the cbfm - to be honest I am a little disappointed in it - I dont think it does anything above and beyond the sticks other than keep a record on the machine - which most of us do on apps anyway. I just had a mad moment of depressed at bfn that I went and bought it - I still haven't told dh how much it was - but he hasn't asked either hehe Grin So i dont think I would recommend to people to get them - I could have two nice pair of shoes for it! That would have kept me occupied in 2ww Grin I also thought sticks would have been cheaper - but nope not that much difference

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 16:44

fuzzy - I bet that was utterly heart wrenching Sad. I am a total POAS addict as well but in the last 11 months only had evaps, never an actual line, and that's only because I'm stupid and keep looking at tests well after the 10 minutes. I so hope you get your bfp this month and it is all fine

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 16:33

birchy - this month I've got the pink clearblue that only gives blank and fixed smileys but last month I had the advanced clearblue with the flashing and fixed smileys. Yes it's possible I could have missed it last month. Your cbfm sounds really good, I wish I could get one of them. Lol I know what you mean about the cheaper ones - they used to drive me insane and never gave me a positive result!! My cycles are like yours too in length- range from 27-33 days - which also tends to confuse me!! This ttc lark really isn't easy is it?! It's funny I've become an expert on ovulation, luteal phases etc etc and yet still don't have a bloody clue what my body is doing most of the time!

fuzzywuzzy · 28/05/2015 16:31

Birchy if you used the clearblue double hormone indicator ovulation stick, the first item you test using it you always get a blank circle it uses that to calibrate, the following test the next day is the one that begins measuring the hormone (can you tell I have spent ages reading and using all sorts of OPK's?).

Testing everyday at least gets the POAS addiction out of the way, but last month when I got the pregnant it was really heart wrenching when it turned negative, I'm supposed to wait for three positives in a row and then they'll book me in for scans (dildo cam), consultant did confirm it was a chemical pregnancy, I surprised myself at how sad I was over it.

Diana, really try not to panic, it could be a process of elimination that they're doing. Sounds really harrowing for you tho, I hope it resolves quickly.

birchygoo · 28/05/2015 16:22

diamond is it possible you missed it last month? I got a peak on cd16 with my cbfm. Then as it automatically gives you two peak days in a row followed by a high, I then used a different opk stick on cd17 which was negative (blank circle). FF is suggesting that I also ovulated on cd16, which I should not have done until cd17 (if I am understanding correctly, ovulate about 24 hours after peak reading). So therefore I am feeling very luck to have caught it as I must have just caught the end of it.

Also what sticks do you use? I use to use cheap ones, then I got 7 days of ovulating lol following month I got no days of ovulating - so I binned all those and since using cbfm I have a much better understanding of what is happening. I use an app and it suggested that I would ovulate on cd18 and I knew that was wrong from the start of the month and predicted cd16 from previous results on cbfm.

fuzzy thats a bit confusing, positive, negative, positive ... head mess for you! how are you finding testing every day? I do envy shorter cycles as more opportunity to try, my cycles can range from 28-35 days. avg 30-32

diana my heart goes out to you - but try not to worry - doctors often do tests to rule things out and help narrow things down. When you think of all the tests they do - thyroid, chlamydia antibodies etc - its not because they think that these are the problem... Sending you lots of hugs and hoping it goes quickly until you get your results as the waiting is so difficult.

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 15:44

birchy - I normally ovulate about cd16-20 so yes it is a bit early I think but last month I only had high fertility not peak fertility, although I ran out of sticks on cd20 so am worried I won't ovulate again this month. good to hear you didn't get your peak til cd16 though so it's not just me who is a bit later Smile
diana - please try not to worry, it sounds like your doctor is being thorough, I can understand how you're feeling and I would feel exactly the same but it might be nothing to worry about at all - try not to panic, we're all here to get you through it x
Welcome fuzzy - sorry to hear about your chemical but think lots of positive thoughts for this cycle. The tww is horrible isn't it, coming on here will help though, everyone is very supportive

fuzzywuzzy · 28/05/2015 15:24

Hi Birchy, I'm on a medical trial and meant to test from CD15, the first positive was 7DPO, then it turned negative and then I got another positive 11DPO.

That's after the first smiley face.

My cycles are 25 days long. I usually get the smiley on CD13 & CD14.

DianaOstara · 28/05/2015 15:13

:( ok so trying not to panic... Doc has taken blood and asked lots of questions about hot flushes and early menopause :( she's going to try to rush results through so I may know more by tmrw (testing for LH surge I think). Had a little cry in the doctors - really thought I'd be sent packing with a 'nothing to worry about'.

birchygoo · 28/05/2015 15:02

Welcome fuzzy - sorry to hear about your chemical pg

if you don't mind me asking how early did you test? I am also using the cbfm but don't know when I should be doing pg test from

Where in your cycle are you for this month?

fuzzywuzzy · 28/05/2015 13:55

Can I join please, I'm at the beginning of TWW, had a chemical last cycle and feeling a little crazy.

I'm on third cycle TTC and use the CBFM.

birchygoo · 28/05/2015 12:11

diamond would you normally get a positive so early? I didn't get my peak reading until cd16.. Which is quite normal for me. I do use cbfm though which also gives 4 days I high readings for me beforehand as well.

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 10:28

Hi diana - thank you! yes I think you're right - we'll have our romantic night anyway and dtd Smile. Hopefully I'll get a positive opk soon though - starting to worry it'll never turn positive!
Good luck at the doctors - sure everything will be fine but as you say no harm in getting checked out, let us know how you get on

DianaOstara · 28/05/2015 10:16

diamond so lovely that you're making an effort to keep the romance in ttc! Have your romantic night anyway and enjoy! I think on smep if we were in the same situation I would just dtd tonight then skip tmrw until +opk.

My period has all but stopped now. I am trying to trust my body and not be too alarmist but I have also just booked a docs app for lunchtime! No harm in going to get checked out and if I don't do it this week I know I won't get round to it until the summer holidays.

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 08:40

remember - have you tested this morning?
red - any news?
greyhorse - how about you?
brown how's your tww going?
haquoi - hope you're having a nice holiday

diamondsparkles · 28/05/2015 08:28

birchy - that's so lovely of your dh planning ahead like that! Glad you're feeling so positive doing smep! I was but this morning still a bloody negative on ovulation test - I'm cd13 - so we dtd last night so should skip tonight but really thought it would be positive today so had planned a romantic night tonight - my stupid body can't get anything right Sad
Hi arty - how are you this morning? Hope you are feeling better. Keeping fingers crossed for you that af stays away.
diana - are you having a light period still? I had a heavy one this month and wondered whether it was early menopause too!! How exciting you've got your wedding this summer Grin
I've been asked to be a bridesmaid too - if I did get a bfp this month my due date would be around the time of the wedding Shock, don't think there's much chance of it though!
