Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Easter Smile

I dont actually know :( wasn't using ovulation sticks or anything and my cycles are crazily irregular...so to be honest, it would be a miracle if we'd caught the window. I think by my average cycle I'm due on Thurs? It's day 30 todag. Bloody hate my insanely long cycles...

peardrop2 · 23/05/2015 21:26

Aww sorry wax weaseal! How many dpo are you?

waxweasel · 23/05/2015 20:18

Yeah, BFN it is :( why do we do this to ourselves?? At least I have eurovision and beer to console myself. Comiserations to you too Ava!

Oh and in response to your earlier post, we co sleep too - until recently it was all night, but now she starts off in her own bed. She sounds v similar to your DD on the baby obsession front too!!

waxweasel · 23/05/2015 20:12

Oh Ava, I am with you, I have no POAS determination. I have just cracked too and am awaiting result on a FR! Aaaaargh! Just know it'll be BFN....

MarysPrayer · 23/05/2015 20:12

Thanks for your lovely messages. I'm trying to stay positive. 'Once bitten twice shy' I guess.

Pear I was 12dpo (based on ic opks as I don't temp). I bought a FRer as it would give me a definite answer, rather than be left in limbo by a possibly too early bfn. They're 'buy one, get one half price' at S/drug atm .

I think it was wax who asked me how I had cut down to just one feed. Sorry for not replying sooner. Since dd was about 5 months old (she's now 2.6) she would never feed whilst out and about. We had to be in a dark room with no distractions. Consequently her feeds were first thing, pre and post morning nap, pre and post afternoon nap, bedtime and dreamfeed. As her number of naps reduced, so too did the number of feeds. We also dropped the dreamfeed and experimented with not feeding her after her nap. She dropped her nap Sad last month so was only feeding 1st thing and last thing. We then dropped the morning feed as this seemed easier than dropping the bedtime feed as we could distract her more easily. A couple of weeks later, dh put her to bed for a week (so no bedtime feed). This worked well however, the first 'morning after' she asked for a feed and I gave in because she had been so good the night before. Confused
And that's where we are now. Tomorrow, dh is going to try and distract her from the morning feed. If it works, it means she had her last feed this morning. [bittersweet emoticon]

I've just had a hot bath Blush and am getting ready for a party we're all attending tonight - hope it takes my mind off my stupidity. You'd think with how much discipline I've demonstrated this week with eating healthily that I could hold off poas for a few more days Hmm

OneCurrant, hope you ov soon. Try poas 3 times a day, if you don't already, in case you miss your surge. I usually get my strongest positives on the third stick of the day Wink Good luck Smile x

peardrop2 · 23/05/2015 17:05

Onecurrent - I hope you Ov soon. I know how frustrating those days leading up to Ov are!

peardrop2 · 23/05/2015 16:56

Oh Ava Blush Poor you! Don't worry...it's just a stick. I'll probably end up doing a similar mistake Grin It is just evidence how much and how badly we want it Smile

AvaAmulet · 23/05/2015 16:17

Just felt compelled to poas even though I knew it'd be negative, I'm only 9dpo ffs, so incredibly annoyed with myself as it was a CB digi I've wasted too Angry why do we continue to add to the torture during the 2ww, will we never learn .... Hmm Hmm Hmm

Think my crazy five mins it was triggered by 'three men and a baby' on TV just now and DD kept asking me to rewind all the parts where they're struggling to feed and change the baby - she loved it, and wants us to have a baby a baby again now... Confused Hmm x

Onecurrantbun · 23/05/2015 15:37

ava fingers crossed for a great bank holiday then!

I'm still awaiting ov which was on cd21 last month. Currently cd20 and no ewcm plus opk resolutely negative. Still I've had a lovely spa day today including prosecco in the hot tub so there are a few perks to being decidedly un-preggo!

I'm betting ov is next weekend when we're all sharing aPremier inn room!

peardrop2 · 23/05/2015 13:48

Ava - 2 more sleeps then Wink

AvaAmulet · 23/05/2015 09:33

Duh! Sorry to everyone who's asked me when I'll be testing. I have given you false information. AF is actually due on Monday. I should have an 11 day LP this month. Have no idea why I keep saying Sunday??!! The fact that it's Monday is staring me in the face every time I open my app Blush Hmm

peardrop2 · 22/05/2015 23:33

Mary - Congratulations! Fx this one is very very sticky! Out of interest what cd and dpo were you when you got your bfp? Did you test early?

AvaAmulet · 22/05/2015 23:08

Aww Wax, I really don't feel that knowledgeable, I've just been ttc #2 for so bloomin' long I've had plenty if time to research while I'm awake until the wee hours of the 2ww obsessing Wink

I'm testing on Sunday if AF doesn't arrive (I am expecting her to though Sad)

Do you co-sleep too?

DD turned 2 at the end of April. She's such a character, but she goes through phases of really wanting a sister (she's adamant she does not want a brother) to being totally against it to the point I'm thinking "what will she do to the baby if she ever gets one?!" Shock seriously though she loves 'helping' me with chores and feeding her dollies, so I'm sure she'll relish the role of Big Sister if when it finally happens... Smile

You could always get a playhouse for DD to have in your garden and say she's welcome to have her friend/s over to 'sleep' in 'her' house - if she's anything like my DD she'll love playing make believe and will play along that it's night time during the day and that her friend is sleeping over. You can put your feet up and enjoy the sunshine while DDs playing at being hostess to the random boy in her little house, haha Grin

waxweasel · 22/05/2015 19:36

When are you testing this month btw? I have my fingers crossed for you. And in a few months time I may well be coming to you for advice - you seem a veritable font of TTC knowledge with your talk of temping and so on!

waxweasel · 22/05/2015 19:34

Awww bless her! She sounds adorable. We've talked a little bit about the move to DD but her main concern revolves around there being a bed for her friend from nursery. He's just a random boy, we don't even know his parents, but she is insisting he is going to live with us in the new house. She may be disappointed!

Bizarrely our girls are almost the same age too! Mine is 23 months - her birthday is the end of June.

AvaAmulet · 22/05/2015 19:10

Haha Wax, we were on holiday a couple of weeks ago and DD, she's 24 months btw, every time we'd return to our accommodation would say 'yay, home!' It's true that a mother has the ability to make anywhere 'home' Smile it might also have helped that we seemed to have taken half the contents of our actual home away with us, too Hmm Grin

waxweasel · 22/05/2015 17:57

Oh my goodness Ava, our DDs sound identical! Remind me how old yours is? It's bizarre as I've never met another one like my DD - boob-attached, feeds on only side...it's the reason I'm so frantic about weaning as there's just no way I could tandem feed off only one boob! A few people have suggested I tandem feed, allowing DD to continue with the 'good' boob and making the new baby struggle with the rubbish one. How unfair would that be?! Though I am hoping any new baby is a little less lazy and will perservere with both sides, not least so they even out a bit....

So glad your move went well - that's really reassuring. Tbh I'm probably overthinking it - my DD does tend to adapt seamlessly to new places, like being on holiday, and actually seems to prefer change. Just as long as mummy is there and provides boob, of course ;)

AvaAmulet · 22/05/2015 16:25

Wax, we moved house just over a year ago - it was hard work and so energy/time consuming but sooo worth it - and it had minimal impact on DDs 'routine'. We did decorate her new nursery exactly the same as her previous one though. Every time we pull into our street DD yells "yay! Home!" So sweet. I responded to an earlier post of yours about only bf'ing from one side too Wink Smile

AvaAmulet · 22/05/2015 16:17

Massive congratulations Mary, so so pleased for you. I know it's easier said than done, but please please try not to let your previous loss affect this very special time for you and your family x Flowers

sparklesandfizz · 22/05/2015 16:12

Wow mary.....you wait ages for a BFP then 3 come along at once Grin
Congratulations Flowers it's contagious!

waxweasel · 22/05/2015 15:23

Congratulations all 3 of you!!! I'm so happy for you all :)

And mumof1sofar, really well done on managing to get your little one to give up that breakfast feed. Must have been such a relief when you didn't have a battle over it!

Ava - nice to meet someone else in the same weaning boat! Good luck with the plan to keep her in the conservatory - I similarly need to avoid getting settled in the living room. It's much better if we're out all day, I find. We're actually moving house soon so part of me is a bit worried that that + changing nursery + weaning is too much change at once, and I should hold off....but I am really ready to stop bf now! Anyway, I'm v impressed at your weight loss - well done you! I'm terrible - just live on caffeine and sugar and snacking and have absolutely no willpower....

autonomousplum · 22/05/2015 14:29

mary omg! Fantastic news! Well done!
What is it with all of you? What magical tonic did you swallow? What marvellous medicine did you take? who did you shag?
Grin

Onecurrantbun · 22/05/2015 14:27

You're all talking me out of weaning though!

Onecurrantbun · 22/05/2015 14:26

Marys!! Congratulations. It must be bittersweet after a loss but, for now, no matter what happens, you are pregnant and that's wonderful news Flowers
