I am on cd10 and started with the opks today. Got a negative this morning but have since read it's better to do afternoon/evening so am going to do another tonight. Hoping this is our lucky month!

mrsmugoo · 31/03/2015 15:49

CarrotPuff - yes I do hope I get a better sleeper second time around as I can't see how I'd manage to do all that rocking and pacing around and holding for naps with a toddler! Having said that, I would go for hard baby and easy toddler rather than the other way around. My DS is such angel now that I've forgotten all the pain of the first few months!

Diamondsparkles I'm AFing at the moment but I think I'll start testing around day 9/10. Pretty sure I ov day 12.

CarrotPuff · 31/03/2015 12:47

Welcome newbies (although we are all newbies here Grin )

mrsmugoo there's hoping we get our sleeping babies this time. My DS woke up hourly for 7 months then all of a sudden started doing longer stretches. In a hindsight it's not that bad considering he does sleep well now, but god that was difficult.

Millie you're not too far off from where you were then, fx your cycle gets back to where it was soon!

bird I have a friend who had PCOS I think, so no periods was normal for her. She didn't find out until she started showing at 4 months pg Grin Her DD is almost 10 now and is absolutely fine (as I'm sure yours is too)

emma I'd say hold out til Sat - even if you are pg and have a few drinks on thurs it won't harm the bean. They don't get anything from our blood till about 5 or 6 weeks.

bobbin Grin at laying an egg Grin It took us 6 months with DS too, but only 3 with mc, so there's hoping!

cuppa I guess you need to get busy Wink

Hi newbies!!
Mrsmugoo - sounds like you might be okay as your cycles are a bit shorter. Are you starting testing with the ovulation sticks soon? I'm starting on Thursday which will be CD12.
Hi cuppa! Yes I think the clear blue smiley sticks are great - I've used the cheaper sticks before but could never make up my mind if the line was darker etc and also ended up testing a couple of times a day which was stressful! With the clear blue you have to use your FMU (first morning urine) so it takes away the stress of doing it later on in the day and worrying whether you've had too much water etc - also there's no problem understanding it - blank face =low fertility, flashing = high and solid smiley = peak - nice and simple for me! Are you going to try them?

CuppaSarah · 31/03/2015 06:33

Hiya everyone who has joined!! Sorry I'm being lazy and not writing out names but its early and I don't want to miss anyone.

Is the clear blue opk flashy smiley face thing any good? Thought I ovulated a few days ago, but my chart doesn't look so good and wondered if it would tale away some of the guess work.

woundbobbin · 30/03/2015 23:36

Hello can I join to. I'm 32 I have a dd who is 3.5 and this is our first month of TTC #2. It took us 6 mths the first time round am hoping for quicker this time I ended up getting heartbroken with every period last time was trying to just DTD every few days and be 'chilled out about it' but that didn't work. I've never used any kind of ovulation kit though do people think they are worth it? Fitting DTD in around work and dd still being a terrible sleeper is also a bit challenging I wish I could just lay an egg! (I'd put a lovely hat on it) Grin

birdbrain21 · 30/03/2015 23:17

My problem is I'm pretty sure I'm ov every month but because of having a period and a breakthrough bleed it's been a bit erratic. I guess I'll probably be waiting a few months to work out when I'm ov until then just go for it and hope for the best lol

emmalouise90 · 30/03/2015 22:44

Hopes ip* x

emmalouise90 · 30/03/2015 22:43

Trying to think positive but I don't want to get my hope

mrsmugoo · 30/03/2015 22:38

Mine are usually 26 or 27 days so I'm really hoping we'll be ok.
He's away for a week so just hoping it all works out!

diamondsparkles · 30/03/2015 21:59

Hi to emmalouise and birdbrain! Looking forward to chatting with you too!
Mrsmugoo- I started on CD9 - was keen to get started!! Got a blank face the first day - which apparently is normal as the stick is getting used to your levels then got a few days of flashing smileys then got the solid smiley on CD15 - but my cycles are 30days so a slightly later ovulation would be right.
Oh no! How long is he away for? If your cycles are shorter than mine you might be okay to get a solid smiley before he goes- fingers crossed for you!

mrsmugoo · 30/03/2015 21:45

My DH leaves the country for work in CD14 so I hope I ov on time!!

mrsmugoo · 30/03/2015 21:43

Diamondsparkles - what cycle days did you start using the sticks and when did you get your solid smiley?

I haven't even read the instructions yet!

emmalouise90 · 30/03/2015 21:33

Hi can I join?
I'm 24 and have a almost 4 year old DD :) we are TTC number 2 this is our 3rd month of trying. Not using anything to track ov apart from an app on my phone lol:) partner works nights so we try and have sex when we can really but have 2 apps and one said I ovd on a Wednesday and we had sex on the Thursday the other was a Saturday and we covered that too, I'm due on on Saturday which is my grandparents wedding anniversary so I'm currently waiting to test I really thought I was pg last month so not symptom spotting or getting my hopes up :( due to go on a night out on Thursday so was tempted to test but don't want it to be to early and be disappointed nice to meet you all :) xx

birdbrain21 · 30/03/2015 21:27

Hi can I join in here Smile My DD is nearly 2 now, she wasn't planned I was on the pill but changed brands due to side effects and didn't realise I was pg for weeks just thought it was from the pill still! Since I had her I've been on the mini-pill. My periods came back about a year ago but they can't seem to regulate with the pill cycle so I have a period which is normally about 9 days (like that even before dd) and then about a week later will get to the end of my pill pack and have another bleed for a week which is getting crazy and we want more anyway so decided to see what happens! I was supposed to start a new pack of pills on Wednesday but going to leave it. I'm so nervous, last time I got pg so easily would be nice if it happens again but although I've spent the last two years saying I want another one already now I'm starting to panic and I'm also scared that it could take ages and turn stressful as I know people that's happened to with number 2. We'll wait and see what happens looking forward to chatting with you all!

MillieMoodle · 30/03/2015 20:39

CarrotPuff, cycles pre-pill were 35 days, came off combined pill after 12 years to try for DS. Was really lucky as got pg first month of ttc with him, got bfp on cd33, but I'd guessed at a 28 day cycle. Was put on cerazette last July after having ocular migraines and hated every minute of it. Awful side effects - I bled constantly, had horrendous backache, was moody. Came off it in Jan and had withdrawal bleed then two 38 day cycles.

So into month 3 for me! Month 1 I was convinced I was pg and took about 30 tests. Month 2 I was pretty sure I wasn't but still took about 10 tests (fortunately all internet cheapies!). I promise to be less obsessive and more relaxed about the whole thing this month. Am hoping the opks will satisfy my desire to POAS!

diamondsparkles · 30/03/2015 14:25

Hi to bluebell, Mrsmugoo and millie!
Bluebell - what have you been told about low progesterone? What are your symptoms?
Mrsmugoo - I tried clear blue ovulation for first time last month and will be using them again - thought they were good - although I did get 6 days of flashing smileys before my solid smile but apparently that's normal in the first month!
Carrotvan - sorry so hear about AF- I've just finished AF and took it quite hard when it arrived this month but am going to be very positive this month and hope that helps! Smile

mrsmugoo · 30/03/2015 12:31

Carrot puff - yes I've been on all manner of sleep threads! DS was a little tinker up to 8 months with his sleep but now he's an angel and sleeps the night fine. Probably why I'm mental and want another - I've forgotten the crazy sleep deprivation!

CarrotPuff · 30/03/2015 11:50

nn that is!

CarrotPuff · 30/03/2015 11:49

The thread is filling up nicely Smile Welcome everyone!

Sorry about your loss elise, I hope this time it will be a sticky bean Flowers

What were your cycles before cerazette Millie? I was taking it a few years ago, but had too many side effects so stopped.

Bluebell have you had an appointment with someone who would explain what this means and what's next? I think they can fix low progesterone with medication, but I don't know for sure. I hope you find some answers soon.

Cuppa I think I'm about 2dpo too. I wish time could speed up...

Mrsmugoo have you ever been on sleep regression thread? Your nc looks familiar, I think it's from there.

Sorry AF got you CarrotVan, but looking for positives is a way to go Smile

Hey ladies
My app on my phone is just could period dairy it keeps track of periods works out when you ovulate and its always been right with mine as I tested with O sticks on one of months just to check it was getting it right and it was and if your temping it will also chart that its just been easyer for me to just tap on it and no where I am in cycle but I don't use the ovulation sticks I just did it for a one off we do try and time it round ovulation but we don't go mad about it and I only do a test if my period is late as it very easy to get obsessed with trying and I just ends up getting me down so we just leave it to nature for now as were only 3 months into trying x

CarrotVan · 30/03/2015 07:55

AF arrived so hello to cycle 2. At least this means I won't have morning sickness whilst the builders are working on the house.

mrsmugoo · 30/03/2015 07:21

Hi can I join?

TTC number 2, this is our first month trying. AF has just arrived so I'm very excited!

DS is 12 months and was a happy accident so we've never done the whole TTC thing before.

I've bought clearblue digital ov tests. My cycles are regular but as I'm almost 35 I wanted to make sure we get the timings spot on with no guess work and let nature do the rest.

MillieMoodle · 30/03/2015 07:18

Hi cuppa and Elise. I'm using the Ovia app to chart fertility. Not sure how accurate it is but it seems to have a lot more on the free site than FF does.

CuppaSarah · 30/03/2015 07:03

Hi Elsie and I'm sorry to hear about your mc. Hello Millie and bluebell!!

Elsie is the app fertility friend? I'm using that one and its just out.me at 3dpo with a less than convincing chart. Its my second cycle using it so I'm not sure what to think. Would be nice to be 3dpo but I think I'm 2 at the most.
