Thanks for the welcomes. diamond I think AF is due Tues so will prob test then if she's not turned up. In the nicest possible respects I'm glad that I'm not the only one in late thirties on here! surfer boo to AF turning up. I'm about 10dpo, having cramps on and off but no other symptoms apart from being tired. One odd thing about this cycle is that I've not had sore boobs like I normally do straight after I've ovulated, not sure if that's a sign or not.

Happy Easter all, enjoy the bank hol Grin

woundbobbin · 04/04/2015 08:07

Sorry about the evil AF surfer - on to the next. Maybe your AF symptoms are BFP symptoms Ava I find it hard to tell the difference. Which is probably why I spend so much time symptom spotting only to be disappointed. When I got my BFP with dd I spent the whole of the day before in tears insisting to DH that AF was coming and it was never going to happen etc he was most bemused the next day when I rang headlong into the bedroom shouting about being pregnant!

CuppaSarah · 04/04/2015 07:52

Avasmum I think we're the same dpo. I'm not 100% certain where I am though. When are you testing? I had a temp drop yesterday and now my temps at it's highest yet, so I'm thinking 10dpo might be good enough to start testing with ICS.

mrsmugoo · 03/04/2015 22:23

Oh boooo surfer :( Not your month, but at least you got AF earlier and didn't have to go to the wire. A small consolation maybe?

One step closer though.

CuppaSarah · 03/04/2015 19:41

That sucks surfer, really sorry to hear about that. But at least you can wave goodbye to this cycle and start afresh again.

Avasmum, I had no af symptoms last cycle and didn't get a bfp, I'm sure it works the other way and having af symptoms doesn't mean af will come for sure.

I took an opk ten minutes after that one and it was almsot positive and one again this afternoon that was totally negative. Starting to think I have ov'd as they seem to positive to negative every other day right now. I;ve heard opks go a bit loopy after ov.

Avasmum8 · 03/04/2015 17:48

Afternoon ladies :) sorry to hear that surfer :( I'm convinced mine will be here by next Friday, I'm 7dpo now but just feeling AF symptoms! Xx

diamondsparkles · 03/04/2015 16:47

Sorry to hear that surfer Sad but yes that's the best way to look at it - you're definitely closer to your BFP! Ovulation will be here before you know it! Xx

surferchic41212 · 03/04/2015 13:30

Well AF arrived 6 days early.. Onto the next cycle.. Hopefully soon ov will arrive- and each month is closer to BFP! Xx

diamondsparkles · 03/04/2015 11:45

Hi cuppa
They always confuse me too! I would say that's a positive - maybe test again later this afternoon to compare?
What cycle day are you??
Either way I'd say get busy Wink

CuppaSarah · 03/04/2015 11:15

You got to miss all the worst parts you lucky thing!

I need an opinion on this opk if you don't mind. I've been having lots of positive and negatives over the last week. But this ones a bit odd. Part of the line is darker than the control the other part is the same, maybe a bit lighter than the control line. The dark bit is the darkest I've gotten, so maybe this is a true positive. Or do I just ignore it? Why are opks so confusing this cycle!!

mrsmugoo · 03/04/2015 09:43

Thanks everyone, yeah it was a great surprise but I do feel like I missed out on all the excitement of POAS, bfp etc...! It did feel weird to go from nothing to suddenly WOAH PREGNANT but yeah I guess I missed out all at anxiousness I the first trimester. I bet my next pregnancy will feel soooooo long in comparison.

Also DS1 ended up being breech so I ended up with an ELCS so never even got to experience labour either haha!

CuppaSarah · 03/04/2015 09:33

Mrsmugoo that's amazing! Absolutely brilliant, must have been an amazing surprise. Patty its brilliant to have a mix of ages on here!

Had a big temp drop today and some cramping yesterday, hoping for implantation, but realistically I have an iffy belly so that'll be the cause. My chart is still very suspect at best. I was very lax with it early in the month and now I'm waking up at 4/5am anxious and mucking them right up! I might give up with the charting next cycle.

diamondsparkles · 03/04/2015 08:49

Morning everyone Smile
Mrsmugoo that's a great story!! Bet it was so surreal finding out like that then virtually straight into maternity clothes! At least you had none of the early stress!
Welcome patty! Lol, I know the feeling of driving yourself insane with symptom spotting! When I think back to when I was pregnant with ds I had no symptoms whatsoever but it still doesn't stop me Grin
When will you test??
Don't worry- I'm not far behind you, will be 38 soon so am feeling old!

PattyODoors · 02/04/2015 21:35

Hi there, I'd love to join in! First month of TTC #2 here, in the TWW think I'm about 8/9dpo (not doing temps or opk's, so not confirmed) and driving myself insane with the symptom spotting lol Have a feeling I'm the OAP of the thread at the age of 38 nearly 39! Grin

Avasmum8 · 02/04/2015 19:34

Evening everyone :)

Mrsmugoo what a great story! Good to make it past 12 weeks and not have the worry :)

I'm now 6dpo and resisting the urge to POAS as I know that is a really stupid idea! Hoping the next week goes fast xx

eliseb123 · 02/04/2015 16:08

Thankyou carrot puff
I hope so too and this time my partner is taking folic acid as doctor sed it can help stop defects in sperm and help prevent miscarriage agen and I'm still taking it as well but feeling lucky this month just feels different this cycle so hoping this is it but I'm only 3dpo soo way too early to know yet x

CarrotPuff · 02/04/2015 12:00

Welcome Ava and surfer!

Ava, sorry for your loss Flowers

surfer I hope they find out what's happening soon. Or even better, you get your BFP before that!

Wow mrsmugoo, that's an amazing story! At least you didn't get the 1st trimester worry!

I don't have a POAS addiction, but I must admit I've POASed once right after my period as I was convinced it was a breakthrough bleed. Never felt so stupid in my life.

AF was late last month, so I'm determined to wait till I'm 2-3 days late on top of my longest period. Unless I get very convincing symptoms Wink

Haha so this is what happened

DH and I were thinking about TTC sometime in the next few months so I was off the pill and tracking my cycles in an app. I was regular and was pretty confident I had a handle on my cycle dates but had never done an opk so didn't know the exact day of ov but we were just abstaining from any action that I deemed to be in the "danger zone" so to speak - and that worked for quite a long time actually!

We went away for our first wedding anniversary and I was pretty confident that I had already Ov'd and so dtd would be ok, so we did haha! 2 weeks later I was on holiday with a big group and there were lots of cocktails and parties and nights out etc… I was due my period and when it "arrived" it was super light and only lasted about a day but I was on holiday and having fun so I didn't really think much of it.

A month later and no period but I was quite stressed with work and it was REALLY hot weather and so when I mentioned to a couple of girlfriends about a late period everyone told me not to worry and it would just come soon. We hadn't dtd at all around when an ovulation would have happened that month as DH was working away so I knew that I could not be pregnant that month so I just carried on and expected it to come.

By the time I would have been due another period I was on holiday again in America and didn't really think too much of it. I didn't for one second feel pregnant and was just too busy doing other stuff on holiday to dwell on it.

When I got back from holiday I made an appt at the doctors (had to wait 2 weeks to get seen) because i was starting to get a bit worried that we wanted to start TTC and my period was nowhere to be seen. I described all of the above to the doctor and they took some blood. They almost didn't even bother to check for htc on the blood text as from what I'd said pregnancy was not possible but she did anyway.

Anyway - 24 hours later and I'm driving home from work in the pissing rain - it was FRIDAY 13th SEPTEMBER 2013 and I got an urgent call from the doctors about my blood test telling me I was pregnant.

The light period I'd had on holiday was implantation bleeding (I'd never heard of that at the time!) as we'd obviously conceived on our wedding anniversary and I must have ovulated a day or 2 late.

So there we go - no sickness, no weight gain NOTHING. The funny thing was almost overnight my belly popped out and within 2 weeks I was in maternity clothes!

The best happy accident I've ever made. And for that reason I'm convinced #2 is not going to be so easy!

CuppaSarah · 02/04/2015 07:45

Oooh I wanna hear the 14 week story. I had similar kind of... I found out I was expecting after two skipped periods. I skip every now and then so assumed I was 4 weeks. Went to the Dr he felt my belly and said I'm 14 weeks!! I nearly exploded with horror. Anyway long story short I was only 4 weeks and happened to need a poo while he poked my belly. Poop and babies, more similar than we realise it would seem!!

Don't worry bobbin, a safety shag is just for peace of mind, you'll still have plenty of swimmers wandering round your fallopian tubes!

woundbobbin · 02/04/2015 06:53

Grin Mugoo not finding out until 14 weeks that's hilarious and terrifying in equal measure. In a bit of a mood this morning whilst I tend to have a 28 day cycle so am confident I ovulated Monday I sometimes have a 30 day so wanted to have a 'safety shag' (thanks cuppa) yesterday unfortunately dd woke at 10pm feeling ill and that put an end to that. Now feeling a bit blue that I might have missed my opportunity for a crimble baby Hmm stupid TWW.

Avasmum8 · 01/04/2015 22:09

Wow, will have to hear that story soon and hello to all the other mummies on the thread xx

diamondsparkles · 01/04/2015 21:48

Yes tell us the full story soon - finding out at 14 weeks must have been a massive surprise!
Grin for the smiley faces Grin!

mrsmugoo · 01/04/2015 21:41

Yeah never!

I found out I was pregnant first time round from a blood test and I had no idea I was pregnant (I was almost 14 weeks gone)

I'll tell the full story another day when I'm on a proper keyboard.

Yeah I can't wait for those smiley faces!!

surferchic41212 · 01/04/2015 21:29

Thanks diamond..I'm hoping so! And mrsmug- hopefully you only need to
Pee on one! X

diamondsparkles · 01/04/2015 21:28

Mrsmugoo - what never?!!! It's very addictive I'll warn you now Grin
No wonder you're excited!!
You've got the clearblue opks haven't you? They're pretty exciting too!
