So you're a hedge-fund manager who wears Reiss suits and Clarks shoes but the allure of nappies and nannies is growing stronger? Yep. You're on the right buzz. We're heading straight for Knocked-Upsville and we've got an on-board telly for watching OBEM and slagging off the scrotes who go to th'ospickal clutching a Lidl carrier bag. Come and join us. eskimo thanks. Good luck with your scan x

loopylou1984 · 26/03/2015 21:58

Thanks Melon - I might call them just to check. People who had both, what is the external one for?

Also, my gp has checked my ovary from the inside too.... It was not comfortable but at least she was female I suppose! Xx

MelonMelon · 26/03/2015 21:56

Don't worry there was a nurse chapperone! He basically put his whole hand in and examined my ovaries and uterus.....from the inside......

tessiegirl · 26/03/2015 21:54

OMG Melon How on earth did your GP examine in there like that?!!!

Nomio230 · 26/03/2015 21:54

Melon, maybe he/she was just a perv!

Thank you lovely ladies for saying such nice things. My head will be too big to fit out the door soon!

MelonMelon · 26/03/2015 21:46

Sorry meant just internal scan

MelonMelon · 26/03/2015 21:46

If they're checking your ovaries etc I'm sure it'll be just external.

My GP examined everything literally by hand when I had some swabs. Do not recommend! I almost fainted! Definitely not got room for a whole hand in there Blush
christ I've been so interfered with recently! All tests normal though which is reassuring.

eskimolaura · 26/03/2015 21:41

I think I'm all caught up!

Purdey sorry for the BFN. I often wonder to myself if I am simply setting my body a challenge, just to prove 'I can'. DH and I have joked about it, as I'm not really a 'baby' person and don't coo over others. (Although I think that may be changing, as I have found myself gazing in wonder at babies in public places, or smiling stupidly when I see a toddler or little person trying to figure something out, or talking to their parents). I don't think there's anything wrong with the way you are thinking and I think it's a totally natural part of TTC. It is a challenge (for most of us) and it's absolutely fine to take on that challenge. Unless you're planning on adopting the young 'un put at the end of it, don't think anything of it!

Spinning I have my FX that you will find out more tomorrow. I am lucky in that my SIL and I are TTC at the same time and we are both having different issues, but we are talking about them. We have made a pact that each of us will be happy for the other if and when it happens for one of us. I hadn't spoken to any of my friends about it either up until a couple of weekends ago, but we all went out one afternoon and it came up in conversation, so I told them everything and turns out that the ones who had actually had kids (and one who is pregnant now) had loads of things to say and tell and it was definitely not an easy journey for 2 out of the 3. (The other one is just super fertile and gets pregnant if her OH even shakes his todger in her general direction Envy ) So I agree; we should be sharing these things and telling each other things, even in RL, but then I suppose it does add more pressure, so it's understandable that we don't. I still can't believe that I blurted it all out to my mum and dad the other night. My dad! Now he knows that I haven't had a period in 5 months Blush

Pug Hope you enjoyed your weekend away. Did you nick all the toiletries and the waffle dressing gown?

mrsb Glad it's good news from your IBD appointment; you can get on with everything now without that being another thing to consider :)

Mummy Good to have you back. Hope you're taking care of yourself my lovely Flowers

Nomio I'm so sorry- I must have missed the funeral update. Hope you too are looking after yourself and that the snuggles with your nephew made you feel heaps better Flowers

Melon, spinning, Purdey, Victoria Nomio and Purple thank you for the info on the dildo cam. I don't think I'm having the one that needs the full bladder- it doesn't say anything about it on the letter, so I assume it's just the internal one. Do you think I need the external as well? Should I push for it? Or will the internal be enough?

loopylou1984 · 26/03/2015 21:38

Melon - I don't know? They didn't say. The letter just says ultrasound. I know there's an internal one because I called when I realised the original was booked for af time and the lady confirmed it. Hmmmm. Xx

nightandthelight · 26/03/2015 21:36

Had vicar and his wife round for dinner. Served quiche with a soggy bottom. Oh the shame!

victoria401 · 26/03/2015 21:34

Lol at nobbing, not heard that since school!

Sammy I got a leaflet with my letter explaining that it was external with full bladder and instructions to drink 2 pints of water ?1 hour before test. I actually had a choice between 2 local hospitals, one did just internal and one did both. Deffo check before you go. At my iui baseline internal last week I got moaned at that my bladder was too full and causing a shadow on my right ovary! Emptied it 45 minutes before appointment but it had re-filled in that short time! Deffo needs to be newly and totally empty for internal!

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 26/03/2015 21:34

I had to drink two pints of water before mine makes it easy for them to be able to see stuff, I only got checked externally. Not harm in giving them a call to check.

PurdeyPie · 26/03/2015 21:33

Thanks for being lovely, everyone, especially Nomio, Clit-tery, & MrsB Smile

Nomio, I'll bet you are just the most terrific rock for family and friends. Can't wait for you to get your baby.

Sparkly, I am totes not temping any more once ov is pinpointed. It is entirely futile as far as predicting pregnancy. It is self-flagellation.

MelonMelon · 26/03/2015 21:31

For internal ultrasound you need a completely empty bladder, they even told me to go and have a last 'squeeze' before I went in. Are you having external as well?

Mummyofonesofar · 26/03/2015 21:30

Purdey not a childminder - another NHS worker. When I have the niece sproglet it is easier as her and DS play and I can catch up on MN/eastenders/sit on my arse for a change Grin

frogbubbles · 26/03/2015 21:28

It's on Itv sammy, not sure about the ultrasound thing, I'm sure someone who knows their stuff will be able to tell you Smile

loopylou1984 · 26/03/2015 21:26

What channel is the triplets program on?

Also I'm now a bit worried as I have my ultrasound booked for 15th April and no one has said anything about needing to have a full bladder... Do you think I should call them to check? Xx

frogbubbles · 26/03/2015 21:23

I was watching David Cameron but it's a load of old drivel so just switching now mrsb Smile

mrsb0710 · 26/03/2015 21:21

Watching it now frog. DH is emotional about it. Haha. Cute.

frogbubbles · 26/03/2015 21:11

Tis awfully quiet tonight in these here buses.

Hope everyone is ok as can be I know so many are going through some tough stuff at the mo.

AF still not properly kicked in, I've still got high temps, feeling very grouchy. Temporarily cured miserableness with a banana shake. Anyone watching the triplets program tonight?

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 26/03/2015 21:09

Naa purds I think you can become quite competitive with your own body.

You want it to do what it's supposed/told to do. That's natural. But I think your biggest desire is to definitely have another baby rather than prove to yourself you can still make sprogs. IYSWIM (hope my rambling has made sense!) x

Jesus. I have a lot of ewcm today! Hope I get my peak soon. Then three days of nobbing yay Hmm

Nomio230 · 26/03/2015 21:09

Sparkly, I have given up on temping. I very rarely get three hours unbroken sleep, so my temps were quite erratic which just confused FF. I also hated having to set my alarm early on weekends

Nomio230 · 26/03/2015 21:05

Hi all,

Thank you so much for all your good wishes. I am finally home now. DH is out tonight, so I am slobbing in my pyjamas and catching up on here.

The funeral went ok. I was really glad I was there as my sister was in floods of tears & I don't think she could have handled it alone. It was sad, but it was a nice send off.

We then went to see my other sisteryoungest nephew for an hour or so. As everyone knows slobbery baby kisses can cure any sadness. Smile After that we wandered round the shops for a couple of hours until she felt ok to drive again.

Mrsb, I am glad everything went well at your appointment.

Autumn, I have my fingers crossed for you.

Purds that is poo. You deserve to be pregnant. Sad

Eskimo, welcome to the world of dildo-cam! I think everyone else has already explained it perfectly. I agree with Spinning, I found it less uncomfortable than a smear. The worst bit was the external when they pressed on my full bladder. I was scared I would wet myself!

mrsb0710 · 26/03/2015 20:53

purds that's ok. So many people on this board, and many with worse things to deal with.
They said my bloods look beautiful, and the meds have it all under control. I still get crap days, but having less stress helps. I know when I do get pregnant, they'll support me and make sure we both stay healthy. It's not going to stand in my way :)
I'll never be 'cured' but its manageable and I can't let it run my life.

I'm sorry you had a bit of a rethink about ttc again, but I think you are one very determined lady and just keep at it. You know we're all here for you, every step.

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 26/03/2015 20:51

Evening all,
eskimo when I had mine they checked the ovaries and measured the thickness of the lining, they could also see I'd ov'd recently.
Hope everyone else is ok, especially those that have been having a difficult time.
I'm on cd18 and ff hasn't yet worked out when I ov'd, temps look a bit iffy this month so I have no idea what dpo I am.
