Hi Ladies

This is my first time posting on Mumsnet but I'm looking for some reassurance from anyone who might be in the same boat as me!!

Just had our 10th cycle of TTC and we used a Clear Blue digital OPK this month, which said I ovulated on 22nd Feb. So I'm currently on CD36, my cycles tend to be between 30-32 days usually. AF was due Friday 6th March but as yet, no sign! I did a test on Saturday afternoon that was a BFN and another on Sunday, which was another BFN. I haven't tested since. I don't really have any symptoms to report other than some very light cramping/twinges over the last couple of days.

What do you ladies think?! I'm too scared to do another test yet for fear of yet another BFN.

Oh no Angry sorry to hear that. At least your not in limbo any more and can't trying again soon.

I caved and did I test when I got in as I had one left. BFN as expected. I shouldn't have done it. I don't know what's going on but if I'm still getting a BFN when I'm 4 days late I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant. I bet af comes tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your last pregnancy. I'm sure it'll happen for us both soon. Keeping everything crossed!! Definitely give the opks a go, it's worth a shot x

well sods law...right after writting my reply to you im pretty sure af is just starting, mostly still brown but theres actually a little bright red mixed in there which it wasnt over sunday and monday Sad (tmi sorry again!) but it wasnt enough to even cover a low absorbency tampon so im still unsure!

and yes Smile defo staying away from google! at least you can be sure that you did ovulate when you think you did and that isnt the reason youre delayed...hopefully its a late bfp for you! Grin

the first time (and last!) i saw a bfp was a few years ago and i was already about 6 weeks (unfortunately the pg had to be ended due to some complications) and that was an accident but it happened so easily i spent years worrying about it happening again accidentally! its actually harder than i perceived it to be when you want it to happen! Hmm

as for the opks i think i may be missing my ovulation because im only going by the predicted day on the glow app so at least ill get to try those out if this is af starting...

It must be about 3 to 4 years since I was last on bc as it just didn’t agree with me and I was limited to which type I could go on as I suffer from migraines, so I really should have kept an eye on it better as I didn’t have bc putting it out of sync. I just didn’t even think about it back then though, it turned up when it turned up, which always seemed too soon!

February was our 10th month of TTC. We got married in May and have been trying ever since. It’s such pain isn’t it? You spend all that time when you’re younger taking every precaution possible to avoid happening and then when you’re ready for it and just expect it happen like magic, it just doesn’t!!

They sound exactly like the cramps I’ve been getting. I don’t usually get AF cramps until a few hours before I come on, but have had these since about Saturday now and they’re nowhere near as bad as AF cramps. They are off and on as well and every time they start again, I think ‘oh here we go AF is on the way’ but it never gets any worse. Last night after dinner I was massively bloated as well, which I don’t think I’ve noticed before but sometimes I just have to try and not read into every little thing as it could have just been something I ate.

Yep completely agree about google, it’s better to keep a level head about it but that’s easier said than done isn’t it?! It’s SO confusing and it’s not like we’re just a day late either. I then worry that all my thinking about it and analysing every little thing is what’s causing AF to be delayed!

Yeah we used them in Feb for the first time. Before that we were just going by the Ovia app which gives you a predicted fertile window based on previous data you’ve entered. So we were just making sure we got busy plenty of times during those 6 days but as it didn’t lead to anything, decided to give OPKs a try this time. I used the clear blue digital one. It’s meant to give you a 4 day window, so it flashes a smiley face when it detects a rise in estrogen, which means you’re fertility is high and you’re due to ovulate soon and then a solid smiley when it detects the LH surge which means your ovulating. Most people get the flashing smiley for a couple of days but I had it for 7! So was stressing out as I thought I was never going to get the solid one which showed I was actually ovulating and maybe I didn’t ovulate at all, which was why we weren’t having any luck! I eventually I got the solid smiley on 22nd Feb xx

oo i just read you also use opks... wish id done that! the batch i just brought to start out with had been delivered but i dont know whether a delayed ovulation may be causing a delayed af this month :/

its strange isnt it, you kind of expect when you miss af that your definitely 'up-duffed' Grin but when the tests are all bfn its really confusing! Confused

wlrg14 · 10/03/2015 14:34

yeah i think keeping an eye on my cycles was a good idea, but i mainly used to do it so i knew around the time i was due af so i could be prepared! they are usually like clockwork! (around 26/27 days) so this is completely out of the ordinary Sad
have been off bc for about a year, but only really started actively trying about 5 months ago, how about you? been in this awful ttc thing for long? Grin
and yup the spotting has stopped! i was so sure it would lead to af as i usually spot a little a couple of hours before the whole thing really kicks off Grin but it just seems to have stopped and this cramping iv noticed isnt like af cramp its more just dull and uncomfortable...

i think, like you, i will leave the testing for a few days as i also cant bear looking at those stark white bfn's but also not getting af!
i think i also may have to stay away from google Grin all sorts of late bfp success stories are getting my hopes wayyy to high Smile

Hey!

It’s so nice to hear from someone in the same position! Are you quite regular usually? I never used to pay any attention to my cycles before TTC (regret that) and didn’t really for the first few months of TTC either as I just assumed it would happen easily and without much effort! Oh how wrong I was! I’ve been using the Ovia app since September to track and my last 6 cycles have been between 30-32 days, so this is definitely the longest so far. I’m just telling myself that I’m not pregnant and that AF will rear her ugly head soon as I’ve grown so used to the disappointment now that I don’t want to get my hopes up. Have you been ttc for a while?

Maybe a good sign for you that the spotting has stopped today as it would have continued/got heavier if it was AF? When are you going to test again? I’m trying to leave it until Friday as I’ll be a week late if AF hasn’t come before then. I think I’d rather see AF than a BFN.

xx

Hi Ronnie!

I'm in the same position! Due on the 7th so 3 days late and all bfns ...also got the mild cramping here, and (tmi sorry!) Very small amount of brown spotting (when wiping) Sunday and Monday...nothing today

I guess we just have to wait...Confused
