Hi Ladies

This is my first time posting on Mumsnet but I'm looking for some reassurance from anyone who might be in the same boat as me!!

Just had our 10th cycle of TTC and we used a Clear Blue digital OPK this month, which said I ovulated on 22nd Feb. So I'm currently on CD36, my cycles tend to be between 30-32 days usually. AF was due Friday 6th March but as yet, no sign! I did a test on Saturday afternoon that was a BFN and another on Sunday, which was another BFN. I haven't tested since. I don't really have any symptoms to report other than some very light cramping/twinges over the last couple of days.

What do you ladies think?! I'm too scared to do another test yet for fear of yet another BFN.

I was the same dollface. Last month was the first time I'd ever used one. We've been ttc for 10 months. The first few months I, like you, didn't even give it much thought, I just assumed it would happen!! You try so hard for prevent it happening for so long, who'd have thought it would be even harder to let it happen?! After 3 months of nothing I started using the Ovia app to help me track a bit better but as we still had no joy 6 months later, I decided to give OPK.

I'm not really sure if people recommend them. I didn't know much about them and just accepted it when it said I ovulated in Feb, but now things I've read suggest this might not be the case, which is annoying. I’ve been told that temping might be better. From what I gather you have to take your temp every morning as soon as you wake up (same time every day though) and record it. When you are ovulating your temp will increase and then it will drop again just before af is due. I’m going to start doing that as of tomorrow. Maybe try not to get too bogged down with all this just get though as you’ve only just started? I was quite carefree about it all to start with and am only getting a bit more on top of tracking etc because we’ll be at a year ttc in no time. I know that's easier said than done though!!

When are you going to test again? x

Hi dollface, opk's are really easy to use just dip in pee and if the test line is the same colour or darker than the control line then you have an lh surge BTW just because it shows positive sometimes you get the surge but don't ovulate. If u get a surge ovulation will usually occur 12-36 hours later.

New symptom (I think) BTW TMI very thick stringy/gloopy discharge a bit like ewcm but a lot thicker and rather than the clear colour it's sorta cream/beige colour, no itching, burning or odour so I know it's not an infection. My body is strange lol Smile

Dollface136 · 12/03/2015 15:18

Hi Ronnie
No I haven't used any OPK, tbh I wasn't sure what to do with one/when as it is all a bit new to me and being silly I assumed these things just happen. There is a huge baby boom on in my friend group/ at work so it all just seemed so simple from a distance. I had massive bloating and pain in one side on 12 days after my last af so I assumed that was some sort of ovulation sign. I then had two tiny dots of bright red blood the day before this af was due but nothing since.

Do people recommend doing the whole OPK thing? Maybe I should start once af finally shows up.

I wouldn't be so worked up if I didn't a) feel so terrible all the time and b) have lots of weddings this month so I quite want to indulge in some champagne without any guilt! If I wasn't feeling so exhausted all the time I think maybe a project/club would be a good idea to take my mind off it?!

Ronnie85 · 12/03/2015 13:08

I agree. My parents had 3 of us under 5 and I've always wanted to do the same.

I'm completely pee'd off as well! My symptoms just haven't changed at all in over a week now. Still just the mild cramps.

Hi Dollface. You sound just the same as me. 6 days late today and 3 bfns. It's rubbish isn't it? Do you know if you ovulated? I used an OPK which said I did, but from what others have said I don't think that 100% means you did, it just means there was an LH Surge. So I'm now thinking maybe I just haven't ovulated this month, hence the no show of af. It would be the first time I've missed af since I came off the pill about 4 years ago, sods law that it would be when I'm ttc.

Hi ladies, please may I join in? New to mumsnet but have been reading around for a week now. I am feeling super confused/sad and hoping it will help to be part of a mumsnet group :-)

I am 6 days late for af now, wasn't seriously ttc as only came off the pill at Xmas so haven't been charting etc. Done 3 tests (one today with CBD) all BFN. I have had normal af symptoms on my due date and then nothing. Those symptoms have now gone and been replaced by a 'heavy' feeling, crying a lot and sore nipples but no sign at all of af. It's so disheartening to get a BFN but no af to relieve all these horrible symptoms.

Doesn't help that we got married in Jan so I am having massive honeymoon blues haha.

Anyway, long intro, but hello and nice to meet you all!

EllaRoseMummy · 12/03/2015 11:26

I don't mind, I want my children to be close in age so they grow up together in school etc at least then they can look out for each other Smile

Well had some cramping this morning and still got the sore boobs, I dunno what's going on, getting peed off with it all now lol

Ronnie85 · 12/03/2015 10:50

Yeah I think it's all down to personal circumstance and how sympathetic the GP is! I think mine thought I was just being impatient, which maybe I am but with good reason I think!

Aww 6 months?! So if (everything crossed) you do get your bfp soon, you're going to have 2 under 2 you brave lady!!!

OP posts:
EllaRoseMummy · 12/03/2015 10:24

I only took it because I have a load of cheapies in the drawer lol. I'm obsessed with POAS, i pull my hair out when I haven't got any left lol. Hopefully one of us or both will be announcing bfps in the morning lol.

When I got referred I didn't have to try for a year as I had my diagnosis of pcos at 16 so my gp knew I more than likely wouldn't conceive naturally in that year.

Omg this post was so hard to write with my 6 month old sat on my knee pulling at my phone lol

Ronnie85 · 12/03/2015 09:22

I know what you mean about the GP wlrg but it's worth going to see them. I felt the same more because we hadn't be trying for a year not because of my age (I'm 29). A lot of my friends said they wouldn't take me seriously until it had been over a year. I think it just all depends on the GP you have. Mine wasn't much use and didn't really tell me anything that I didn't already know myself, which is why I've bypassed it and arranged a private consultation but I know that we're lucky to be in a position to be able to do this, I know it's not as easy for everyone.

Fingers crossed for you Lindsaybobs. Keep us all updated xx

Sorry to hear about your bfn this morning Ella. I was so tempted to test as well still no sign of AF for me. I just about managed to resist because I was running late for work! I will test in the morning though and let you know how I get on. I'm 100% expecting a bfn

OP posts:
EllaRoseMummy · 12/03/2015 07:50

Ok I caved and tested this morning - bfn, kind of expecting it.

Wrlg14 - your gp won't laugh at you, my gp referred me to a gynecologist when I was 18 the only bad thing about that was appointments with my gynecologist were every 6 months so it took me and my partner 2 years to conceive my daughter.

Libdsaybobs - when do you plan on testing again.

lindsaybobs · 11/03/2015 23:55

I'm in the same boat! AF was due on Saturday. BFNs Monday. Still no AF. Haven't tested since. I've been TTC for four years now and this is only the second time my cycle hadn't been 27-29 days.

I've got my fingers crossed for you.

wlrg14 · 11/03/2015 22:56

Glad to see your both doing OK today Smile

I think I'll see how the next few months go and if no joy I think I'll go and see the gp about why we are struggling to concieve! I'm just worried the gp will take one look at me and laugh (I'm only 23 and just finishing my degree) Blush

I'm interested to see what happens with both of your cycles though as its out of the ordinary! Confused

Ronnie85 · 11/03/2015 22:24

Thank you, you too. Let me know how you get on x

EllaRoseMummy · 11/03/2015 22:00

I'm hoping lol

Good luck to you Smile

Ronnie85 · 11/03/2015 21:13

Ah I see. could very well be good news for you soon then Smile

OP posts:
EllaRoseMummy · 11/03/2015 20:59

I have PCOS and blood tests before having my daughter showed no ovulation - post pregnancy blood test shows ovulation

Ronnie85 · 11/03/2015 20:48

It's so much harder than I ever imagined!

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage Sad it sounds like you definitely o'ed this month then so you're late AF can't be down to not ovulating.

I'm thinking now maybe I didn't even ovulate?! How did you know you weren't before you're first pregnancy??

OP posts:
EllaRoseMummy · 11/03/2015 20:11

I plan on testing Friday as I have a dental appointment and don't want to have anesthetic if I am indeed pregnant. Yep pretty regular 32 day cycles. I tried temping to predict ovulation but my bbt came from China and stopped working after one use. I am usually a really early ovulater or a really late one never in between lol I conceived my daughter on cd10 lol so pretty early and then my miscarriage was conceived on cd27. I had o pains and ewcm about 9 days ago so I probably o'ed late.

I never have sore boobs only nipples when af is due but none yet only the boobs

The tww is hard lol Smile

Since having my daughter ( conceived on clomid) I O every month without fail as my body has reset itself thanks to pregnancy lol but before the pregnancy I never o'ed but always got my period every 32 days so I dunno how not o'ing can delay periods as I always got mine

Ronnie85 · 11/03/2015 18:29

Wrlg I bet you're glad you finally know what's going on and like you say, you can start thinking about trying again in no timeSmile

Still no AF for me, getting so annoyed!

OP posts:
Ronnie85 · 11/03/2015 18:27

Oh my word really?! That's uncanny. Are you usually pretty regular too?
I don't have sore boobs, wish I did as it would be more of a signal but I've just got the off and on cramping. I haven't tested today, waiting till Friday now so I'll be exactly a week late. When are you planning on testing again? It's so frustrating isn't it?! Fx for us both.
When I got the bfn on saturday I was so fed up so my hubby and I booked to see a consultant with Bupa on Monday to arrange some fertitily testing so if still bfn on Friday and AF has still not shown I'm hoping he might be able to ease some of the confusion!!
Do you know if you ovulated? Someone mentioned that if you didn't that's what could be causing the late AF and bfns. But I'm sure I did as I used a OPK xx

OP posts:
wlrg14 · 11/03/2015 18:14

well i think i can officially count yesterday as cd1 as today it got worse and is more like a normal af, at least theres no more limbo and we can get onto next month Smile

how are you doing today ronnie? still no sign of af?

and hello ella! sorry to hear your in the same position! it really does suck not knowing if your coming or going...but its not over until af shows Grin

EllaRoseMummy · 11/03/2015 17:26

Ronnie - I could have wrote your post lol I too was due Friday all bfn's including today, cramps and sore boobs also like you i only cramp a few hours before she shows up. So freaky how our cycles are exactly alike lol

Ronnie85 · 10/03/2015 21:44

that's good news! You're still in! I know what you mean. It's been the two week wait and then some!

OP posts:
wlrg14 · 10/03/2015 20:50

Well it looked to be AF at first but it would seem it was just some spotting?! Confused

I wouldn't mind seeing AF tbh at least then we know where we stand! Smile
