Sorry to hear your dad died when you were young wotsits

Mine left when I was 6 months old and I decided to find him when I was 21. People always say 'But your dad didn't leave you, he left your mum, so why have you got insecurity issues?' But, I have never got to grips with how he could leave his own flesh and blood and not want anything to do with me. I couldn't help but feel I wasn't good enough to know or bother with...does that make sense?

Purdey, when I met DH the same issues reared their ugly head within 6 months of us being together. I found that as soon as a new relationship settled down and it wasn't in those first few months anymore when you constantly text and want to see one another, that is when I would start feeling insecure which would lead to irrational jealousy on my part out of a huge fear I would be rejected in the end. DH has always stood by me and maintained he was never going to leave, and he never has. We have had some low times at the beginning where I wasn't sure I could handle taking the risk that my heart could potentially be broken and wondered if I should just walk away to save myself the heartache. But I never have. Thank goodness! Slowly as time has gone on our relationship has strengthened and I no longer feel DH will walk away. He makes me feel adored. I still have some niggly moments but they are manageable. Life with DH is everything I ever wished for when I was younger. I just wanted a stable, loving relationship and I am so thankful to have found that.

Phew....essay!!!

I'm here, just had a bath since I couldn't remember when I last had one

eskimolaura · 06/03/2015 21:56

I'm here Purds Got nothing to report except a few twinges in my uterus today. If I ovulated last Friday (Big IF), then I'm 8dpo aren't I? Not sure about anything any more! But I do have a referral appointment on the 19th to find out about my lack of AF.

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 21:43

Tessie, did meeting your husband and getting married quash the insecurities? Or are they more entrenched than that? Don't answer if I have overstepped the nosy mark.

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 21:41
  • 'I' not 'a'!
PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 21:40

Glittery, you are the opposite of your saccharine moniker! I have a tattoo on my spine from 1997 (a seahorse -quite beautiful) which a regret. I have been told by quite a few blokes that I have a great back (weight training; pole work) and I feel it was spoiled somewhat by the presence of a tattoo.

MaMa, are you okay? You didn't post last night..

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 21:37

Tessie, thank you for sharing such personal stuff about yourself. It is not at all gratifying to hear of others' emotional hang-ups or difficulties, but I feel I am not alone when I hear successful, clever career women have their own issues to contend with. I admire anyone who has succeeded in academia despite wrestling with themselves in other areas - I guess I am more haunted about my aborted degree than I like to admit. Thanks again for sharing Thanks

Pierced, never mind them studs...look at them lips! Angelina Jolie! Are they un-plumped-up with cows' ballbags filler?

Sparkly123 · 06/03/2015 21:36

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 06/03/2015 21:31

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 06/03/2015 21:01

Ah shit I miss my piercings. I had my Labret and arm (skin diver) nose, ears twice, and belly bettin and 8 tattoos. going to get a new tattoo soon. Got to give some blood first though.

piercedprincess · 06/03/2015 20:41

Aww thanks for the welcome people. Yeah I'm crossing my fingers this month.

Sparkly123 I have him on Wellman, in fact that's what we believe made his numbers go up last time and I've told him to drink more water and we're going to get him some brazil nuts to up his selenium intake as well as upping his Vit C intake. Had him cut down on the caffeine as well.

Purdey As for the piercings, hah they're in ma face. Four lip studs, don't ask I've always been a bit quirky. Attached pic so you can see if you're curious.

wotsits1 · 06/03/2015 20:27

Purdey... I'm a barrister. Very dull spending your life in a court - despite the fact that people think its like watching a crime drama on TV.

Channing Tatum is a minger. And deceptively chubby, I feel...

Tessie... I had the same issues. My Dad died when I was young. Cue many an attachment issue!

tessiegirl · 06/03/2015 20:18

Purdey I have had huge confidence issues in the past. I blame these partly to growing up without a dad in my life, so when I started having relationships I felt so insecure about someone rejecting me and feeling not good enough for anyone. I went on antidepressants for anxiety at the age of 18 and have been on and off them ever since when I have found things difficult (normally this would coincide with times I was in new relationships and after 5/6 months of being in them then the same old anxiety would hit me again) plus having counselling when I really find things hard to cope with. At the age of 21 I stupidly started a relationship with a guy who, for 3 years mentally abused me. Who told me I was ugly, stupid, never going to find anyone better etc. I threw myself into my uni work as a distraction, I think. Anyway....that's me Blush

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 20:02

Juney, please don't doctor your temps any more. I shall have to come round and box your ears if you do P.s...next time some sleazoid donor tells you he would 'need assistance' if he has to jizz in a cup just give me a shout: I'll lapdance for him and suck his balls

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 19:59

Channing Tatum is a minger. Fact.

Wotsits, can you divulge what your career is? Yes, I suppose that is true; all jobs can be unfulfilling at times. I think I've started to lionise anyone with an actual job Hmm

juneybean · 06/03/2015 19:56

Ooo thanks purds I was tempted to put that high temp back in so that it pinpoints ovulation on day 15 instead of 16 as I doctored my temps didn't I!

Hmmm!

I'm cd4 today, got like 10 days to wait before anything starts getting exciting.

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 19:54

Victoria, I asked FF for pregnancy charts where sex only took place a day after they pinpointed ov and where there were issues with the fellas sperm. There were a few but largely IUI cases, which is interesting because I've seen hundreds of IUI charts where insemination took place the day after FF pinpointed ov. Just goes to show, eh?

Oh, Juney, the last chart is for you - the lady used frozen donor sperm and inseminated the day after her pos opk but FF pinpointed ov on the same day as the opk

Aww I quite like him wotsits

juneybean · 06/03/2015 19:44

Grin purds what a beautiful chart.

wotsits1 · 06/03/2015 19:44

Purdey... A job can get monotonous whatever you do! Believe me! Everyone thinks my job is super exciting but believe me... it can get boring (and I love it most days!)

Welcome to all newbies. I am shocking with names though...

Juney... magic mike did nothing for me. Channing Tatum - no thanks!!
