Sensible diet and exercise sounds great babs and will help you to make a beautiful healthy baby :)

babsbunny · 07/03/2015 19:03

Thanks night. I don't do fads (wasted too much time in my early 20s with em). Just sensible and lots of exercise. Hmmm. Will need to talk it through with dh. He may think I've gone crackers.

nightandthelight · 07/03/2015 18:58

babs losing weight (if you need to) is definitely a good idea and evidence shows that it improves fertility :) As long as you stick to a safe and sensible diet (no fads) then I can't see why you couldn't keep TTC at the same time :)

babsbunny · 07/03/2015 18:58

Wotsit. Totally, and it is. Think I'm panicking. I think my brain is broken, I seem to have compartments and can only achieve one thing at a time.

babsbunny · 07/03/2015 18:55

Purdey you'll get there. You will. And screw age. Raising kids is about love and you seem to have buckets of that. My uncle was born 3 months before my big sis. Nana was 43 having him. She was brilliant.

wotsits1 · 07/03/2015 18:55

So ladies... I'm on 13 dpo and my cervix is currently still high up and soft, hot TONS of cm (some of which is sticky and almost snotty... sorry tmi). Wtf is going on?!? Tested at 11dpo but bfn.

wotsits1 · 07/03/2015 18:53

babsbunny can a sensible diet not coincide with TTC?

wotsits1 · 07/03/2015 18:52

Purdey... I hope you are OK? Have you asked your parents or are they not taking any hints. It sounds like you are doing a wonderful job with Nancy, and you will raise two brilliantly because you are in your 40's, not in spite of it. Age is but a number, m'dear!

PurdeyBirdie · 07/03/2015 18:51

Victoria, tell your MIL to put a shitting sock in it or I will send round one of my contacts of evil repute. Anyway, she should thank her lucky stars that her son managed to snaffle a beautiful and funny brainbox scientist. They don't grow on trees, ungrateful woman.

babsbunny · 07/03/2015 18:51

Night. Sounds like you are on it. Give one last go tomorrow for luck if you feel better.

Ladies, I need to lose weight, prob about 2 stone. Thinking of stopping ttc (very begrudgingly) for a while to address this. Is this sensible? I am torn as I dont know how long it's going to take to get preggo (now on cycle 3) and don't want to lose 6 months of trying time. Confused

wotsits1 · 07/03/2015 18:50

Night... I wouldn't worry! Sounds like you have definitely done enough!

PurdeyBirdie · 07/03/2015 18:47

Oh, Eskimo, how I wish your dad's motto regarding education were true. We can't talk politics any more so I'll zip it, except to say the rich will always get the best education - regardless of whether they are thick or not - and will end up being hedge fund managers or our political leaders Sad

Cariad, MC EDD's are tough, but I hope yours is a turning point in terms of fresh hope and that you get your BFP soon Thanks

Glittery, your posts always make me laugh, especially yesterday's that claimed your mn username should be ilovecockandballsacksandmainliningneatvodkawhilstteabagging Grin

Strawb, welcome, love. I loves me puns an' all Smile

Been weeping on my mum's shoulder this afternoon about my desperation for another nipper and she admitted that she and my dad worry that I am 'too weary; too old' to cope with another. I pointed out that she was 46 when she more or less brought up my sister's tots from birth (she went back to work six weeks after the birth). Mind you, there is four years between her daughters, but my point still stands that it is perfectly possible to raise two little tots in your forties - and my mum did it. I swear I am not going to get a sibling for Nancy unless either one of my (divorced) parents cough up a few thousand from my fecking inheritance so I can go and have IVF in the fecking Czech

nightandthelight · 07/03/2015 18:24

Thanks Glittery disaster averted though as DH has taken painkillers and now decided he is up to it tonight and tomorrow morning! Think that should safely cover it :) Sorry for me posts. Hope that everyone else is well?

The weather here today has been amazing, really hope you have all had the same and been able to enjoy it :)

We went to see some potential houses for our hopefully soon to be family and have decided to apply for one, just have to hope no one has got in before us!

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 07/03/2015 18:14

24 hours not 48. Fucking vodka.

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 07/03/2015 18:13

Night you'll be fine to pick up where you left off tomorrow. The egg lives UP to 12-48 hours. sounds like you have got a good start, don't stress (easier said than done I know)

nightandthelight · 07/03/2015 17:39

Ladies I am on CD15 (26 day cycle usually). We DTD CD5,6,8,10,11,12,13 and I was planning today but DH has toothache :( I think I ov CD12 or very early CD13 (based on CM drying up) but wanted to do today just in case it was later. Have we done enough or should I prepare myself for not having a real chance this month? Really worried I have stopped too early.

spinningirl10 · 07/03/2015 17:33

Abfab, goodness that's a shit long cycle!

Genni, sorry I forgot about your bfp! How are you feeling, have you been peeing on lots more sticks and have you told your dh?Smile

HeirToTheIronThrone · 07/03/2015 17:28

Gosh all these high powered lawyers! I am in communications, which is chiefly farting about Grin

I have just been to meet my friend's 11 day old daughter. She is tiny and utterly perfect and slept curled on my chest and now my heart hurts.

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 07/03/2015 17:22

Haha purds yeah not as detailed as that but close! X

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 07/03/2015 17:20

Thanks spinning Smile hope you are enjoying your weekend too.

Juney! Don't listen to those ladies. They are exhausted - they don't know what they are saying!!! Wink X

PurdeyBirdie · 07/03/2015 17:19

Oh bloody hell, Abfab, what utter awfulness. You are clearly not ovulating but the great news is that your fertility cons will soon get those ovaries ticking over. Moreover, a huge proportion of women for whom anovulation is their only issue get pregnant very quickly with the right dose of drugs. Will you come back after your appointment and let us know how it went?

Glittery, you always make me laugh. I can't remember what you said but it was summat along the lines of 'my mn username ought to be ilovecockandballsacksandmainlingneatvodkawhilstteabagging. Grin

Cariad, I can't say any more than the others have said. I know how MC EDD's feel when another pregnancy is eluding you. I'm sorry you are so low Thanks

Kissing, I love that you love being a SAHM. I think I would feel exactly the same if: a) I had a bit of money b) I had a car c) my husband wasn't usurping me in the home leaving me feeling entirely redundant and inadequate d) I had left a glittering career knowing that I had left my mark on the world somehow.

Eskimo, we are not allowed to talk politics on here and so I can't tell you how much I disagree with the mantra that education creates a classless society. The rich go to the best schools - even if they are thick - and end up managing hedge funds or leading the country Sad Sorry. I'll shut up now.

AbFab86 · 07/03/2015 17:09

Hi eskimo! I'm both actually. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 and have been on metformin since I was 16 and BC. I came off the pill at the beginning of December and had AF then, but nothing since. I've never had a normal cycle but assumed 12yrs of metformin would have helped that. Seems not!

I've had what I thought was ovulation pain and the odd mild cramp over the last 2 weeks, but nothing to show for it yet. I'm really hoping I'll be able to start down the path to clomid at this appointment Smile

Have you tried agnus castus yet? I ordered some a while ago but not got it yet. Seems you can't buy it where I live Hmm

eskimolaura · 07/03/2015 17:02

Ab Can I ask for the background behind your lack of AF? Do you have PCOS? Or have your recently come off BC? I only ask because of my current situation, not having AF since coming off Loestrin in Nov. Have you had any cramps or twinging? I have had both in the last couple of months, around the time when AF should be making an appearance. I'm hoping it's my body gearing up to AF, but just not having the right combination of endometrium or hormones to actually do it yet. Hope your appointment gives you some answers Flowers

AbFab86 · 07/03/2015 16:06

*ones who AF gate crashed. Not one. Unfortunately.

AbFab86 · 07/03/2015 16:04

Hi ladies! Have been lurking for a while trying to keep up with the mad buses! Congrats to the BFPs and ?to the one who AF gate crashed.

No news from me. Currently on something like day 85 and no sign of AF. I have been temping but had to put a fake period in to FF so that it would actually map out my temps (clearly 85 day cycles aren't the norm!). I'm completely confused by the results. My current thinking is that it is just showing I am not ovulating at all :( We're DTD just in case. It's 10 days now until my appointment with the gynae doctor so hopefully she'll be able to shed some light on the situation.
