Well... It's day 28 in the wotsits house and no sign of AF yet. However it is only 10dpo. Boobs are sore (but think I've made them sore by prodding them incessantly) and having weird twinges in abdomen... but can't decide whether these are AF symptoms or something utterly exciting!! I hate the 2ww. DD took 3 months to conceive 8 years ago... Back in the days when I assumed a boy threw their boxers at you and you got preggo. On the first month we used opks we got caught. This time I went straight for the opks. Will we be as lucky?

Lucie, it might be different where you live, but it says this in the NICE guidelines 'In women aged under 40 years any previous full IVF cycle, whether self- or NHS-funded, should count towards the total of 3 full cycles that should be offered by the NHS.' That is why we are going down the NHS route first, then going to go private if neccessary. Obviously it won't be, as I am getting my BFP this month.

I actually think my gp may have been right looks like it is ok to have private and nhs treatment so long as you are under 40. If you are over 40 then you can't have nhs treatment if you have had any previous ivf treatment

I looked into the private and nhs thing and it said that you could have two rounds of private treatment without losing your nhs but if you had 3 or more then you would lose your free nhs goes as they think the chances of it working would be less. I wanted to check this with the gp so I asked her when I went a couple of weeks back and she hadn't heard of that at all. She said they are two separate things and me having private treatment wouldn't affect the nhs treatment. I think she has got that wrong but I'm going to go ahead with the private stuff and then if I did still need nhs next year I will look into it all again and obviously keep my treatment abroad a secret if necessary.

Purds, I am 35 (36 in July) my AMH is 7.28pmol/l. It's low or borderline low on the American scale (1.02ng/l). The gp said she knows lots of people who have come to her with lower amhs than that and have got pregnant naturally.
