Illegal!?! That's silly!!! If its a consenting male and a consenting female...what's the problem! I knew there were issues with anonymity in the press a while back but didn't think it was illegal!!

AI sounds much easier than the 11x in 6 days I made DH do! I think we over did it massively. His men were probably knackered or not even ready!!!!

Very tentatively joining.

Miscarried at 4.5 weeks last Wednesday. I've read I should be super fertile now, although as to when I'll ovulate is pure guess work.

DP and I are doing circular conversations about whether we should ttc as I won't be eligible for maternity pay. Would have been if I hadn't miscarriage. Ah well.

Realistically, we probably will be trying again so I'm dipping a n emotional drained foot in.

I am at the doctor's tomorrow for the results of all my blood tests he ran. Fingers crossed there's nothing lurking there and he just tells us to keep trying a bit longer.

I have upgraded to vip on ff, went for a whole year. Hopefully that will invoke sod's law. ;)

It's a well known sperm bank in Europe so I should hope it contains real sperm! But a lady on another site after doing her business had a look at the straw until a microscope and they were still swimming after 16 hours which was good!

Mine arrived in liquid nitrogen which supposedly lasts for 7 days!

I think it's to do with the non-anonymous thing that came in a few years ago, and how if they released it they couldn't confirm that a resulting child was a result of the sperm used, like the fertility associated (HFEA?!) want to protect the children and allow them to contact their donor. I dunno I'm just waffling! No idea!

Stupid question alert: how do you check that the foreign spermies are a) any good. . B) sperm at all!? Do they arrive frozen?

Okay have stuffed my face with Mcdonald's and feeling much better!

wotsits the thing with sperm in England is it's illegal for you to do home insemination so you'd have to pay for fertility treatment on top of the sperm. Whereas if I import it from Europe it's fine, so it cost about £500 (most of that was shipping!)

I've found a nice guy but he lives 2.5 hours away which is so annoying but he seems keen (which seems worrying?!)
