Mucus. Bloody phone.

chasingtherainbow · 03/03/2015 15:23

Yes I think I'd rather talk about cervical mucas. . Though no pictures please vom

KnitFastDieWarm · 03/03/2015 15:20

This has all got rather deep and meaningful - I was more comfortable with scatological references to cervical mucus Grin at least we can all agree on the joys of the cervix Hmm

Incidentally, does anyone else get that 'argh, smear test!' sensation when they try to check their cervix? Confused

KnitFastDieWarm · 03/03/2015 15:18

Nomio I would agree with this sentiment - I believe that it is far more important to just be a good person & try to help others than follow a set of rules laid down by someone else. At the same time, I think everyone has a right to believe whatever they want.

I have a religious faith and my DH doesn't. We both generally believe that the goal of life should be a) don't be judgmental dick to people and b) try and love other people, lift them up and help them along the way.

We might be coming from different places in terms of WHY we try to behave this way, but the end result is the same.

amy I got married in a church. It took me, oh, a year to find a church that I felt comfortable marrying in with my gay best man standing next to me. In the end we went Unitarian which my agnostic DH was happy with too, and we had a fantastic inclusive joyful ceremony with a huge group of friends and family from all different cultural and religious backgrounds, and everyone had a good time. I think it's really important to be able to genuinely mean what you say when you get married, whether that's in a secular or religious ceremony. It should come from the heart - so don't let your inlaws bully you into going through the motions. Getting married in church was important to me, but some of my very atheist family opposed it, so I guess I had the inverse of your problem Smile At the end of the day what matters is you and your DP's beliefs and values. You're the ones getting married not them!

scrunchiemount · 03/03/2015 15:13

aw glad other people understand the cat thing! I wish I could put them outside but they're indoor cats (one of them has a health issue which means they can't go outside). avasmum you have it worse off than us as our LL doesn't come round to inspect, I'm more worried as our tenancy is nearly up now and we will be having the estate agents and prospective new tenants coming round who I'm sure will rat us out! hair so glad you're a nice landlord, wish more were like you! night i know, it is so annoying - I think probably they have had previous bad experiences but when all the furniture is yours and there's no carpet I really don't see what damage they expect to be done!

anyway, off cats and back to TTC - hope everyone's doing ok today!

nomio you are not alone, am not the slightest bit religious either. In fact my Dad is a hardcore atheist so if anything I was raised the total opposite way Smile

Southy84 · 03/03/2015 15:12

Thanks lulabelle I'm feeling impatient too Grin starting to think this month isn't the month again but holding out a bit of hope

Lulabelle2212 · 03/03/2015 15:10

Hi Southy, thanks very much for letting me know. Guess I'm sadly a bit too early to join in the fun. Just so so soimpatient... I really hope you get a positive result!

Nomio230 · 03/03/2015 15:08

We can form our own little club, amy!

Southy84 · 03/03/2015 15:07

Hi lulabelle I'll be 13 dpo on Friday AF could be due anytime from tomorrow

Amyyy27 · 03/03/2015 14:52

Nomio I am not the slightest bit religious. Neither is my OH, however we have family who are. We are planning our wedding and its tough because his family 'tradition' is a certain church they all ALWAYS get married in... however I don't see the point when we are not religious. SO you are not alone :)

Avasmum8 · 03/03/2015 14:46

Also scrunchie we currently rent and our landlord doesn't know about the cat! We only get inspections every 6 months now but when he comes round I just put the cat out and hide the scratch post/food stuff in the cupboard Grin

He's never said anything in the last four years, although I'm sure he might have an idea as she sits on the outside window sill waiting to come back in! Haha.

Lulabelle2212 · 03/03/2015 14:43

Hi ladies, really intrigued by the POAS party on Friday but fear I may not be able to join as it may be a bit premature... My AF is due in around two weeks (14 to 18 Mar). Where are all you party goers in your cycles on Friday? Keeping everything crossed for all of you.

Avasmum8 · 03/03/2015 14:40

Afternoon Ladies :) Cogratulations Takestwo! And sorry for those that AF have arrived :( I'm actually excited for my AF to come seeing as it will be my first month ttc! :) due in a few days so hopefully we will be able to test around the same time at the end of the month!

What OPKs are everyone using? Over the last couple of months I've bought some of the cheap ebay ones, boots own and clear blue think I've got about 7 of each... Lol

Also has anyone been on a long haul flight in early pregnancy? We are going on hol at the end of April and my friend has told me one of those horror stories that two women she knows have both had a m/c after flying :/ I know it is a higher risk of a DVT (I'll have those lovely stockings!) but didn't know about any increased risk of miscarriage. Xx

Nomio230 · 03/03/2015 14:39

Congratulations on your PHD, pulpi. That is a massive achievement. Wine

purds, glad Miss Pants is on the mend. She seems like such a happy little baby.

knit, I would definitely be hopping on DH tonight!

I am getting slightly concerned that I might be the only non-religious person on here. I don't believe in god & refused to get married in a church, as it would have felt hypocritical.

I believe that it is far more important to just be a good person & try to help others than follow a set of rules laid down by someone else. At the same time, I think everyone has a right to believe whatever they want.

On a different note-have any of you had hayfever symptoms yet? I have barely been able to breathe the last few days due to a blocked nose & have noticed blossom on our trees. I think it might be that time of year again. Sad

nightandthelight · 03/03/2015 14:34

Yay for nice landlords like Hair :)

Hairstylisttoboris · 03/03/2015 14:32

Remnants? Noooo tenants. Fucking auto correct.

Hairstylisttoboris · 03/03/2015 14:31

scrunchie I understand :) I let remnants have pets. I think they are less liability than toddlers...! Or husbands....

nightandthelight · 03/03/2015 14:29

Landlords are so discriminatory towards cats scrunchie and I can't really understand why! We are in the process of renting a new place and only looking at places that accept our two cats really limits our options :(

scrunchiemount · 03/03/2015 14:23

sorry hairstylisttoboris, I did want to be an honest tenant, but just couldn't find a single landlord who would let us keep them, and they're such well behaved, clean, non-scratchy, non-piss-on-floor type cats that it really wasn't fair! We even offered our current guy an extra deposit increase if he let us keep them - still no. Also all the furniture is ours so if they did scratch anything it isn't his problem, it's ours.

Thanks for all advice on cat issue though, yes could take them to my mum's though that is a bit of a faff - tempted to simply bung them in cat basket and put them in the cupboard under the stairs but they are drama queens and I think they would yowl!

wotsits1 · 03/03/2015 14:17

Eeek TakesTwo... Just read back and saw your bfp news!!! So exciting! Congrats! Hope this twitchy spasm thing is a good sign then!?!

wotsits1 · 03/03/2015 14:13

I'm 9dpo. Its sooooo annoying. Whats the deal with it? Did a cheapy test this morning and bfn! What dpo are you TakesTwoToTango?

TakesTwoToTango · 03/03/2015 14:09

Oh wotsit what cd are you on? I've had weirded eye twitch for the last we days too!

wotsits1 · 03/03/2015 13:57

Knit.... I would take yesterday as your surge - it probs happened a short time after yesterdays test. Keep going at it!!!

I'm currently having weird eye twitch type feelings in my lower abdomen. My tummy is proper twitching, spasming and distracting my symptom identification process. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!! Angry plus its super annoying!!!!!

Amyyy27 · 03/03/2015 13:43

Oyster I agree with baby could certainly have been implantation! Fx for you!

BabyBumpHopeful · 03/03/2015 13:37

Oyster could be implant bleed. Wait a day or two and test. Then wait another day or two and test again. If you don't get a proper period next month when you're due, and still neg hpt, see a doc
