coffeenut mine are very crazy but I could still see a clear pattern. Try and keep up with it at least with OPK's this month to see if you see a pattern. :)

If AF arrives tomorrow on schedule then, silver lining, at the very least this month has added to my list of my AF symptoms :)

If she doesn't (though my hopes are low), I'll join the POAS party on Friday :D

MaMaPo · 04/03/2015 00:49

Boo for AF coffee! Definitely stick around given your bfp is due so early on April.

I'm writing some coursework for a forensic behavioral science postgraduate course. It's a good thing for me to have done, great for the old cv.

coffeenut · 04/03/2015 00:22

Congrats on the BFPs Amy and TakesTwo! Flowers

So AF started last night/this morning, bang on schedule. I guess that means my BFP is now due 1st/2nd April. Fingers crossed for cycle #3! I suppose I should move to April but I might just hang around if that's okay, to see all the lovely March bfps come in. And you never know, I may scrape in with one at the end. Ha.

I think the advice here is not to drink at all during pregnancy but if you do, only after first trimester and only 1-2 drinks per week. I try to go dry over ovulation/2WW anyway but it's often the time I want a glass of wine the most! Le sigh.

Sounds like a lovely morning Mama, what sort of coursework are you writing?

Also, have tried taking temps for the last 4 or five days but they are all over the place?! I think because DD wakes me so often, I sleep very badly and this must mess with it. So. maybe will stick with OPKs.

MaMaPo · 04/03/2015 00:04

This is not the place for this Purdey. We don't agree, we're not likely to agree, and I'm not that interested in explaining further. Let's get back to the bfps, shall we?

So I managed to string my coffee out for two hours (cheeky), now my sun filled morning involves waiting for my local yarn shop to open. I've decided to knit a baby blanket for some dear friend who are expecting in May. As I type this I'm standing outside and only just realised that they're closed on Wednesdays. Bah. Back to my counted cross stitch of a brain MRI, then.

PurdeyBirdie · 03/03/2015 23:47

...and can we get one thing straight? I am not talking about Islam; I am talking about radical Islam. A bit like the difference between feminism and fierce feminism. I would imagine Hmm

PurdeyBirdie · 03/03/2015 23:44

So, can I assume a 'fierce' feminist has lots to say about Islam's attitude to women? Can you also illuminate me regarding Islamist terrorist attacks in Australia? How many have there been?

Also, what is the nature of the serious and immediate threats you speak of? Is it about to rain there?

juneybean · 03/03/2015 23:17

Sounds like a lovely morning mama!

OP posts:
MaMaPo · 03/03/2015 23:12

I think I must have poked a Purdey! Yep, no terrorism in Australia, not at all. Hmm But more seriously there are much more serious and immediate threats than Islam. And what is a fierce feminist? Someone who believes really strongly in feminism and the benefits it has for both women and men. (You didn't want to know what I meant by 'fierce secular humanist'?)

But! This is beside the point.

I'm having a delightful morning. My MIL has my daughter until after lunch, so I am sat in my lovely local cafe, lingering over a coffee and writing some coursework. Never done anything like this before, it's quite fun. Me, educating people, can you imagine?!

smalbird, if you have a 28 day cycle you could probably assume you ov about CD14. But everyone is different so the only way to have more certainty is to track ov, either through checking CM, taking your temp, or using OPKs.

Juney, good luck with the plan! I really hope it all works out for you. I admire you a lot for going for what you want in life, even though it is bloody tricky (and expensive).

dojo123 · 03/03/2015 22:55

smallbird I've been temping on FF and it calculates how many days it this you are pov when you've had 3 raised temps above your previous 6. As my cycle is pretty regular I thought I OVd around CD14 or 15 but from temping it actually put me at CD17.

Mumof1sofar · 03/03/2015 22:54

Evening all. Just popped in to catch up. Sorry for those af has got & good luck to anyone testing in the morning.

I'm only cd9 so early days for me. Hopefully gearing up for ov soon though but I'm not temping or doing ov sticks yet so no idea when/if I'll ovulate this month Confused

Nomio230 · 03/03/2015 22:45

Getting to the exciting stage, dizzy. Fx for you!

dojo, that sounds pretty scary.

dojo123 · 03/03/2015 22:45

Bugger! Think I might be out as well. Just has some pink when I wiped this evening. I suppose it could be an implantation bleed but I think AF might rear her head tomorrow the witch. Sad

smallbird · 03/03/2015 22:43

Documentaries like that scare me. I drank with DD as I didn't know I was pregnant, two nights in particular really a lot of alcohol too. She's fine, but it didn't stop me worrying at all and I was a fairly laid back pregnant lady. This time round I'm going to try not to have anything at all.

So this seems like a complicated question, but how do you know how many dpo you are without using an ovulation stick?

dojo123 · 03/03/2015 22:34

mummy it basically looked at the development of the the foetus and how alcohol slows down not only growth and movement but also learning abilities. The safety guidelines up until recently have said that a maximum of 1-2 units 1-2 times a week were ok. But now they are saying that alcohol should be avoided during conception and the first trimester and then back to the 1-2 units 1-2 days a week for the remainder of the pregnancy if you do chose to drink. However to avoid FASD (foetal alcohol spectrum disorder) is to refrain from drinking alcohol throughout the pregnancy. Hence my decision to chose the latter.

DizzyNorthernBird · 03/03/2015 22:32

hi nomio, according to ff I'm 13 dpo!

mummyofonesofar · 03/03/2015 22:25

Dojo I didn't see it - what did it say?

dojo123 · 03/03/2015 22:14

Did anyone else just watch the Exposure doc on itv this evening about drinking during pregnancy. Really interesting, has confirmed my thought of not drinking from my fertile week onwards. If I do have a positive on Friday it will be my first birthday in 17 years that I haven't celebrated without an alcoholic drink

Nomio230 · 03/03/2015 22:11

That sounds like the perfect solution, juney.

dizzy, how many DPO are you now?

juneybean · 03/03/2015 22:11

It's cheaper for us than it is for the 'muricans! Total bargain!

We're halfway through this thread and it's only been open a day, we don't half chat shit.

Hello all, just checking in late to say a big congrats to amyy and takestwo (and whoever else got a bfp? Sorry to miss anyone out but I've just had to skim through thirteen pages to catch up before bed!!) well done girls & good luck to anyone else testing tomorrow.

juney sorry to hear AF got you Sad. Good tip on the ff upgrade though, might try it meself if I'm not lucky this week maybe.......too much of a tightarse to waste 16 quid even if it does invoke sod

No news here, temp was back up this morning but there's still plenty of time for AF to strike....

juneybean · 03/03/2015 22:02

He said it was up to me and I guess for my child I'd like him to be contactable but I'd really prefer to do everything alone. Of course I'd keep him updated on the child's progress as well.

Nomio230 · 03/03/2015 22:01

Yay juney, I am so pleased plan C is coming together. I don't think three days in a row would be too much to ask & it would give you a good chance. Just out of curiosity, would the guy have any part in your child's life?

juneybean · 03/03/2015 22:00

Oh sorry mummy you enjoy those cocktails! It's a beautiful destination but the journey can be shit this TTC lark!

OP posts:
mummyofonesofar · 03/03/2015 21:59

Thanks for sending love my way girls. I am trying not to be sad about it but really feel like I've been on a roller coaster of emotions being this late. DP is great though and knows this hurts even though it's cycle 1 and didn't comment when I stuffed my face with consolation chocolate.

Will be full flow by the morning I feel, so this was a 36 day cycle with 18dpo so it can't be implantation. At least I get to be part of the cool gang finally on the CB study! And at my friends 30th this weekend I plan on propping up the cocktail far and dancing the night away. Onwards and upwards.

juneybean · 03/03/2015 21:56

Aww thanks Boosk I'm positive for cycle 4... took me four goes to pass my driving test, it's the exact same thing surely.
