Hi all Smile congrats on the bfp frazzled Grin

Mary when I got my bfp in 2013 I was bf 4-5 times a day, pretty much wake up and before naps/bed. Hadn't fed overnight for a few months at the time. But if you do need to wean don't feel guilty at all! I had it in my head that I was going to wean at 15m if I wasn't pg (which I was, but she self weaned at 15m anyway), which kinda made me feel better (having a plan always helps me Wink ) and this time round will probably be thinking the same way.

pear still FX for implantation bleeding for you, I had quite a lot of it with both DD1 and DD2, gave up and sulked both times, then never really felt like 'post AF' so did a test!

Have finally had 1st AF (wooo hoo) so now getting into shag week, hoping I'll ov at the weekend! I'm quite excited about being able to oficially ttc again Grin although I know the novelty will wear off in a couple of months (or with a few pregnancy announcements).

frazzledtofun · 23/02/2015 08:33

Oh no! Sad

Maybe try just one feed a day first before you stop?

You can start temping tomorrow. ??

peardrop2 · 23/02/2015 08:17

Cd1 frazzled Hmm Thanks for asking! Now have to decide whether to stop bf or not Hmm When can I start temping?

How're you doing this morning pear?

peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 23:05

Thanks ladies. Two glasses of wine later and the world feels like a better place Grin Poor DH is absolutely gutted. I'm quite surprised as I really didn't think he would be this bothered but apparently he was also very certain it was going in the right direction. He now wants answers to why it didn't happen for us and thinks just because we Dtd 9x means that we should have got success. Hmmmm I really was not in the mood to answer that one so I just nodded in agreement whilst clutching glass Wink

Oh Pear the not knowing must be killing you, enjoy the wine at least! I had implantation bleeding with dd1 and ds2 and it was quite a lot really, makes it even harder to tell :(

Cuphat thanks for the positive story....

Puggle, 15mo no AF here too so I'll keep you company!

frazzledtofun · 22/02/2015 21:30

Pear I am keeping everything crossed. I know exactly how you feel. You don't want to get your hopes up but a little voice is saying "maybe...?". Hopefully you'll be exercising sods law like I was by having a glass of wine! If it IS implantation bleeding then don't forget you are unlikely to get a BFP until 2 days later - so Tuesday.

Mary - as I had had so long with no AF I was really frustrated and just wanted to know if things were still functioning in there. Temping worked really well for me in the end. I was already beyond obsessed with it all! Think DH is starting to worry about my sanity... he only knows the half of it...

We dropped the bedtime feed first precisely because DH is able to get her down in the evening without it whereas first thing in the morning she is half asleep and if she isn't presented with mummy and milk is much more likely to be upset - and I can't deal with that at 4:30am. That said, she has now got used to so much less milk and in fact is actually going to sleep much more easily in the evening.

peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 21:03

Enjoying my glass of wine that is going straight to my head Grin Wine

Fx it's implantation bleeding, Pear x

MarysPrayer · 22/02/2015 20:17

Cuphat, thank you for coming back on to share your story - it's just the sort of inspiration I need right now SmileFlowers

Frazzled I'm in two minds about temping. I know it's a good idea - knowledge is power and all that - I just worry that I may get too obsessed with it all.

I know what you mean about feeling guilty weaning, but we really shouldn't. 2 years is a great breastfeeding 'innings'!

I'm still feeding 1st and last thing, plus a pre-nap feed 4/5 days out of 7 (when I'm not at work). This is the one that I want to drop but, since we're hanging on to her nap by a thread atm, I really don't want to upset her routine. She doesn't feed to sleep but it does calm her and I can imagine the tantrums that would ensue if I refused her!
It may be easier to drop her bedtime feed as dh is around 50% of the time so he could do bedtime while I hide downstairs and drink wine. I also wonder whether dropping the bedtime feed (rather than the nap one) would help to reduce my supply faster as the feeds won't be spaced apart so evenly - if that makes sense? Sorry to waffle on, my heads full of ideas atm.

Hi there ava, nice to 'meet' you. Smile

Pear, hang on in there, you never know. but pleeeasse don't leave us

peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 19:51

Bugger. A tiny bit more spotting. Think I'll crack open the wine now WineSad

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 18:53

So, it's been 3 hrs since I got the 2 light pink spots when wiping. Clutching at straws here but just really praying that it was implantation! Cramping is still present but it has died down. I was all ready to crack open the wine but I might save it for tomorrow night...just incase. I don't remember it normally taking AF this long to start but saying that it probably does and I just don't notice or time it

Swannykazoo · 22/02/2015 17:39

cooeee! place-marking. No AF back at 14months so may be here sometime....

AvaAmulet · 22/02/2015 16:37

Thanks for your story, cuphat x I am slowly catching up on all the posts in my groggy, fuzzy-headed cold state - it would make it so much easier for me if dd self weaned, then I wouldn't feel like I was depriving her if we were to cut down on feeds...x

AvaAmulet · 22/02/2015 16:33

Sorry to hear your news, Pear xxx

AvaAmulet · 22/02/2015 16:32

Hi all, I'm holed up in bed with a rotten cold feeling sorry for myself, as I should be ovulating tomorrow (typical!), with just my iPad for company (apart from when dd is brought up to me by dh for boob) I had flu last month during ov too ... Sniff ...

Mary, my cycles are the same length as yours since they came back in august last year, which is when I last posted (I have been following the thread/s avidly, though) I can't believe I last posted 2 threads ago (!) and I too am still chasing that elusive bfp without having to wean (or even cut down on feeds, as they are a lifesaver with my 22 month old dd having colds and cutting her last 4 teeth simultaneously at the moment...) x

cuphat · 22/02/2015 16:06

Sorry to read your update, pear. I hope it doesn't take too long for you.

peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 16:00

Thanks x

Cuphat ~ lucky you. I'll have to wean my DS down from 2 feeds to 1 this week so I can get my BFP.

Oh no Pear Sad. Wine, Flowers and a hug for you!

peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 15:37

Red spotting here Sad Beyond sad. Obviously my LP was too short. Spoke too soon. My AF cramps are shockingly bad. Think the worst I've had so far. I've send DH a text to get me some wine on the way home. Absolutely gutted ??

OP posts:
cuphat · 22/02/2015 15:32

Hi all, I just wanted to let you know my positive story to give you all some hope. I was still breastfeeding DD two or three times a day when I got my BFP last year. It happened very quickly for me which I wasn't expecting. And without the use of the ovulation tests etc that I used the first time around.

DD (now 20 months) did self-wean a couple of months later at 17 months, which I never thought would happen as she had been a milk-monster - I think that this was due to the taste of the milk changing. But it gives me a bit of a break anyway before baby arrives in May!

Good luck to you all Smile

frazzledtofun · 22/02/2015 15:16

Oh and one more thing Mary I went from feeding on demand up to 12 times a day to overnight just doing a single, short feed first thing in the morning. I then introduced a bottle BEFORE the feed in the morning so she was pretty full and just had a teeny tiny bit for comfort. Felt pretty horrendously guilty doing it but she is over 2 and, touch wood, it looks like it worked!

frazzledtofun · 22/02/2015 15:15

Mary so sorry to hear AF got you! Sad
To answer your question, there was a bit of a flurry of BFPs last year but, as always, it's hit and miss. I know you say you don't fancy temping but even if you just do it for one month it really is so satisfying to see the temp rise after ovulation and then you know for SURE that you have ovulated. I actually found it much easier than I thought it would be. Although, obviously, I learned to my cost that it doesn't always predict AF as I had a weird 2 day implantation dip that I thought was AF on its way (and hence had a couple of glasses of wine that I am feeling awfully guilty about now).

Pear yes, I told you! Smile. I bet you have a longer LP AND I bet you have a BFP waiting for you too. Really hope so!!! I had cramps the early part of this week when I was 10/11 DPO and, combined with the temperature drop that I saw back to pre-ovulation levels I was CONVINCED that this was AF. It really felt like AF cramps and I felt exactly like I do just prior to AF (bloated, constipated, cramps etc.) ... but it must have been implantation.

I counted my first day DPO as the morning of the temperature rise, which means that I ovulated the day before, so that was the day after my 2 day "high fertility" smiley. In case that was confusing:

Friday 6th Feb - low temp and high fertility smiley
Sat 7th Feb - low temp and high fertility smiley (it lasts for 48 hours so you can't test again)
Sun 8th Feb - massive temp rise and therefore this was 1DPO as I must have ovulated on the Saturday.

Hope that makes sense! So now I am 15DPO.

peardrop2 · 22/02/2015 14:56

Mary how long did you cramp for before AF arrived? I've been cramping on and off for 6 days now. I've never experienced that with AF. Normally I get AF cramps the day before and during AF but not this long. Frazzled is still feeding once a day and she got her bfp, so did hide!

OP posts:
MarysPrayer · 22/02/2015 14:45

Thanks pear. It's so cruel that pre-AF and early pregnancy signs can be so similar.

I think I'm gonna treat myself to some new clothes, which I don't need, and hope that sod's law is watching! Grin

I still haven't read all of the previous thread(s?) . Does anyone know whether many people got their bfp? (preferably without weaning) Looking for some hope and inspiration!
I've always asumed that I am ovulating as AF is pretty regular (26-29 days - is that classed as regular? ). I really don't fancy going down the bbt temping route but I realise that opks only detect an LH surge and therefore are not proof of ovulation. Hmm....
