Marking my place...hoping I won't be here for long Wine

Giddy, can we really compare now with how our body worked before our dc1? I'm getting the feeling that our bodies go back to square 1 after having a baby and if that is true it is likely you won't OV at the same time or maybe it's still settling. Perhaps bf is delaying OV for us both!! Tbh I have no blinking idea but I like guessing for you Wink

OK well my Dtd mission is now back on track despite not getting a peak. If I peak tomorrow that will be Sod's law as DH will not be back from work until gone midnight. I am really looking forward to DPO1 whenever that will be!

Ispy don't leave us for too long Wink

Thanks pear. I used to ovulate much earlier in my cycle pre ds so am worried I'm not ovulating at all. Ah well. We will have to wait and see. Oh is pressuring me to stop feeding if no peak this month. Makes me so sad. :(

ispyfispi · 09/03/2015 11:36

Thanks Ava, I do believe that whatever will be will be. I think I need a hobby to take my mind off it all! Best of luck girls....

AvaAmulet · 09/03/2015 10:50

ISpy, with the age gap I'm trying to let go a bit of what I pictured and hope that whatever happens turns out for the best it must . I can see the benefits now of having another dc post-September when dd starts nursery 3 mornings a week, as it'd give me a chance to get a couple of hours sleep if I have to bf all night like I was with dd the baby some 1:1 time with me. I am being realistic though and, if, when we finally do have another dc, it takes this long to conceive again we may just have 2 DCs and not the 3 I always imagined... But, like you said, there are pros to that - it means we'd keep our car, we wouldn't outgrow our home and our 2 DCs would have a nice bedroom each and no one would get stuck with the small bedroom etc etc I just know that, when the time comes to making a decision about no.3 I would feel v. Conflicted about it too Flowers

It does help to vent put it all in here...x

AvaAmulet · 09/03/2015 10:33

Hi iSpy, this is definitely the heaviest AF I've had since they returned - I'm hoping it's a good thing?! Confused

AvaAmulet · 09/03/2015 10:30

Hi all, I stopped using opks as I just got faint to strong 'half' lines (only once stronger than control line) and several days in a row of static smileys etc on the various ones I tried and the results of both types of test never correlated with each other and I never really knew if they were accurate, or when or if I ov'd so I gave up and tried to use cm but as I don't have much of that, or, like Pear I get some EWCM at odd times (ie. this month I got it a couple of of days after I guessed estimated I must have ovulated (using my app)) so that's not really much help either.... Anyway, as a last resort I bought some amazon cheapies yesterday and they should arrive by the time AF has packed her bags. fx I get more definitive, logical readings now....Confusedx

Well done with your dtd mission, Pear! Amazing effort Wink really don't know how I'm going to uphold a promise I made in RL to do the same Blush

ispyfispi · 09/03/2015 10:29

Morning ladies. Hope AF is treating you kindly Ava? Hopefully you won't see any more of her this year! I totally get the deadline thing. We always planned to have 4dcs; 2 close together, a gap then another 2. We had the first 2 (2yrs7m apart) then our gap somehow ended up over 7yrs! So dcs are 11yrs, 8yrs and 16mo. I really wanted a small gap this time as even as it is I'll be doing the primary school run for 18years! So I've kind of set myself a target: smaller gap than the first two or we stop trying ?? I'm already very blessed and there would be benefits of stopping at 3 (wouldn't lose our spare room sex bed, wouldn't need a bigger car, more time for the others etc...) but I would always regret not having another.
So basically while being a tad crazy and desperate to conceive I'm also considering an NCT nearly new sale to get rid of all most of my baby things. God this is hard. Sorry for the rant! I'm going to take a step back and lurk for a while (although will be congratulating the BFPs later this month!) unless anything changes here. Good Luck Everyone x

peardrop2 · 09/03/2015 09:12

Thanks Giddy, a few months a go I read a few ladies say that they got a bunch of highs and never a peak but still got a BFP so I'll just take this as a pinch of salt but still...I like to see the proper results in the right order to believe Wink Looks like you're still gearing up to OV. You hang in there too because I also got a faint second line at the start of my cycle (a few cycles back) and then got my first high much later on in the cycle.

Thanks mum! Could not be feeling less sexy if I tried this month Wink

Gr. lh. Faintly. You know what I'm saying. Grin

Giddymamma · 09/03/2015 09:03

Morning all!

Pear, I've been looking back at old notes as I used to get lots of high days before a peak. Month ds was conceived I had nine in a row, then my peak, so try not to worry just yet.

No peaks here yet. Pah. My hl surge appeared very fairly one day and has not been seen since. Hoping against all reason that I did ovulate and cbfm just missed it and that I am full of baby . Hmm

Mumof1sofar · 09/03/2015 08:25

Morning all! How is everyone feeling today?

Ava hope you get your bfp v soon... Just think in 2 weeks you can try again Smile

Pear that is odd! Do you have any cheapie ov sticks around? Might be worth double checking what another type of stick would say. Good luck with the dtd mission... Hope it pays off Smile

peardrop2 · 09/03/2015 08:01

Grrrrrr! My monitor still says high. 4th day of high. I shall continue my Dtd mission and try and push the feeling that something isn't right to the back of my mind Confused

OP posts:
AvaAmulet · 08/03/2015 23:25

That should read, I hope all you lovely ladies now in the 2 ww will have had your bfps in the meantime Grin fx

AvaAmulet · 08/03/2015 23:13

Hi Mumo, I totally 'get' how you're feeling - think it was nervous/excited energy that had me awake til 3.30am last night. Although I am disappointed AF did show up, I'm trying to see the positive - she did actually show up when I expected her to... Maybe my cycles are starting to settle and I get my bfp soon? Wink hopefully all you lovely ladies now in the 2 ww will have had your bps in the meantime Grin I'll keep checking in and keeping fx for all of you x

Mumof1sofar · 08/03/2015 22:30

Haha! I am feeling excited/nervous about testing already & I don't think I've even passed ovulation yet lol! I'd forgotten but the 2ww is the worst!

peardrop2 · 08/03/2015 22:29

Ava, there is nothing like a precious family moment go force you to count your blessings. It is so easy to forget too easy but it's important that we keep reminding ourselves of exactly what you've said in your last post Smile

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 08/03/2015 22:23

Hah ha if you're testing on 23rd I am so blatantly going to cave and test on 24th at 12 DPO lol Wink

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 08/03/2015 22:21

So we will be testing on 21, 23 and 26th. Well that's exciting Wink

OP posts:
MarysPrayer · 08/03/2015 21:59

Mumo Af is due on 21st so I will try ha ha yeah right to wait until at least then.

Feel free to read the above as 'every other day from cd9 onwards!' Grin

How about you?

AvaAmulet · 08/03/2015 21:54

Thanks Mary, I am still surprisingly positive, after the initial slump I felt earlier today.

My mother, bless her, had tackled my mountain of ironing by the time I returned from bf'ing DD earlier, so I didn't have to face that after AF turned up Wink not that she knew anything about that - only my sis and DH in RL know we are ttc. And as sad as I felt initially, I am definitely counting my blessings Smile

We've just had a family movie night with The Croods and treats, and, sat there with DD, DH and my 2 cats I already feel so blessed to have what I have. Another amazing dc would be a bonus, and I'm sure it will happen for us, it's just a matter of when. I'm thinking I should be pg by May / June as this is my silly deadline, and I've never missed a deadline in my life Wink

If it doesn't happen by then though, well, I have a very happy, clever DD who gets to spend some more undivided time with us until she's a big sister Grin

Cue my many questions and random musings over the coming months if I'm to go back to trying to make sense of my opks though, sorry in advance Wink

Mumof1sofar · 08/03/2015 21:52

Mary when are you testing? I'll test on 23rd but not feeling too positive atm as this is my first cycle.

AvaAmulet · 08/03/2015 21:39

Thanks Pear, no, I wasn't aware that I still had an option Flowers But I know that my maternal guilt would dictate that, should they say my dc would be in danger if my BP rose again, and at home I wouldn't have the necessary medical assistance blah blah blah, I'd be bamboozled into a hospital birth again. My former GP even said that, if at any point my BP started to rise in a future pg I'd be hospitalised straight away - which hasn't helped at all Hmm I know they have a duty of care, but it's the stress of hospitals that raises my BP - vicious circle Hmm I've got a new GP since we moved to be closer to my folks just over a year ago, so I hope they are more understanding Blush

MarysPrayer · 08/03/2015 20:57

So sorry ava. Stay positive Flowers

I feel really sad, but also angered, by your negative birth experiences. Fear magnifies our perception of pain. Imo, that simple fact is responsible for so many traumatic births. I would have loved a home birth but dh would have been too scared. Our local hospital maternity dept has since closed (that may have outed me, but who cares!) so we will now would have to travel much further. So it probably means a home birth is out of the question next time but at least it means I can have a fresh start, and hopefully a better experience at a different hospital.

peardrop2 · 08/03/2015 20:50

Oh Ava Hmm So sorry AF arrived. Well done for not wasting money on sticks!! You know that you can say no to the hospital and have a home birth...you just have to be strong and determined to stick to your right to choose. The right home birth team would support you I'm sure. Don't let them fool you with their scary rules before ruling every option out Wink

Sadly I am relieved to hear others feel OBEM is unrealistic!! As much as I love the programme it should be banned! I would really like to see a more realistic programme that reflects what we've experienced with the NHS...that would be the perfect new contraception for this country Wink

So who's next then? Mary and Mumofone and then me. We've got the 2ww to get through first!

OP posts:
AvaAmulet · 08/03/2015 19:45

Hi Ruth, no I'm in Wales, sorry to hear you had a similar experience Flowers I tore quite badly and the midwife did such a hash of my sutures they had to be removed a few days later by my GP and a nurse Shock, as there was no way they'd have dissolved on their own. My sis unfortunately had a crappy experience at the same hospital recently (chose that one as, although it was out of our county, she did consider it to be the best out of all the options Hmm) it's such a shame that something that special can be marred by the 'proffesionals' ... Sad

I'm getting the opks you suggested to Spek from amazon now....

Aurora, your birth experience is my ideal - I'd have loved nothing more than to be in a pool in hospital (or at home with DH and my cats Grin for support would have been even better) but that plan was vetoed when my BP was raised ( I did tell them that a calming environment would actually lower it! but they couldn't allow it - as soon as I got home it was back to normal) and as a result, I've been told I won't ever be allowed to birth in a pool Sad
