TTC and still breastfeeding? You're not alone! Thread# 2

Pear, I wasn't sure if the 400 mg in the pack would be enough for possible pregnancy & breastfeeding?? But last night I read about the dangers of taking too much folic acid & now worry that I don't need both!

Can I just ask what are you ladies taking in the way of supplements? I am taking pregnacare breastfeeding tablets & have also been taking an extra folic acid tablet a day. I was in boots today & compared the vitamin amounts in pregnacare & the breastfeeding one & both contained 400 of folic acid. I'm now wondering if I am taking too much folic acid & if that might be harmful?? Any advice gratefully received. Tia

I don't know how I even have the energy to be honest (she says, while simultaneously typing and dangling her legs in the air like a crazy person ) This is only my first cycle of TTC though, so I think I'll have to temp and use OPK's next cycle as there is no way I'll be able to maintain this for months on end!

Duchess you are a real trooper We've dtd 5 times in total this cycle (& that's more than most months lol!)

Pear - I'm currently debating this myself! It's so hard to know what to do. Is it insane to just keep trying until either AF or BFP?!

I keep obsessively looking at my notes from the cycle I got pregnant last time and trying to mirror everything this time round, which is stupid since I don't even know if I'm ovulating at all since I'm still bf. The cycle I got pregnant, the last CD I DTD was CD32 and I got my very faint BFP on CD39, so I had already conceived when we were still trying.

This cycle I'm thinking I will keep trying until CD30 and then start testing. What do you think? It's so hard to know! Especially when we've put so much effort in thus far, I don't want to risk giving up too early! (I can just see I'm going to be doing alternative DTD and POAS days and you're all going to think I'm insane!)

It's due on Saturday, or there abouts. I think it's imminent as I have the usual cramps and low mood. When we conceived dd I felt really good, I Poas as I felt like af wasn't lurking. Although I was three years younger then and didn't have a toddler to chase after!

When is af due for you Mary & why do you think she might be arriving? A bfp might be just around the corner

She is due for me on mon so I'll try & hold out til then for testing if she doesn't arrive.

I'm hoping she arrives in time for me to have the wine at the weekend. last month she cruelly waited until Sunday.

Seriously, don't put yourself through it. I've seen a few people get false positives from testing early on an ic. The heartache must be horrible. I'll hold your hand for another few days yet

I think AF is around the corner. Just has a good old cry, which is just how I get at this time of the month. I have resolved to not poas at all this month. Instead I will spend the money on a bottle of wine, for when AF shows.

I poas this morning in a moment of madness & it was bfn of course! It wasn't even fmu & I'm still only 8/9dpo (I think). Ahh I've really started getting itchy fingers... I hate not knowing! I would rather know for definite 1 way or the other but I'm not very good at waiting sits on hands

So exciting that people are Poas soon! Am very jealous I feel like I still have ages to wait. I have to try and hold off though, as otherwise I'd be Poas twice a day and my bank balance would be taking a big hit. I have three pregnancy tests in the cupboard ready and waiting. Might try and wait until CD35 if AF hasn't got me before that. CD21 today so a long wait ahead. Still DTD as well in case I haven't ovulated yet, so at least that keeps me busy!

Does anyone know if Agnus Castus is safe to take while bf? I took it the cycle I got pregnant last time and definitely think it helped me ovulate quicker (CD14 for the first time ever!). Just wondered if it was worth a try next cycle? Online advice seems a bit conflicted.

DD seems back to her normal self today which is great and she is finally rash-free. Might venture out to the park later if she seems ok. Going a bit stir crazy at home!

It's a deal, Mary. I hope af stays away for you. I am itching to poas already but if I start now I will have to do it every day (as I'm so impatient) & I'm sure I will waste loads of money! So I'll do it on mon which will be cd28... Surely not too early to test?

mumo, af is due at the weekend so I will be your Poas buddy on Monday if she doesn't show! Determined to wait this month as pee sticks are getting expensive and it's only cycle three! I've been getting some cramps on and off for the last few days, which did sound promising but I then realised the exact same thing happened last month
