couldn't have put it any better than mama did Laura. I recommend crying it out Thanks

Mamama31 · 18/05/2015 15:15

Laura I hit a low period like that around the 18 month mark, I felt completely consumed by ttc and was not enjoying life on a day to day basis- all I could think about was getting pregnant. Don't be hard on yourself, everything you are feeling is natural and normal in this crazy long process and I really feel like you have to let yourself go through those dark times to come out the other side again and to start enjoying life again. I booked myself a holiday at the time to look forward to, tried to see friends often and did a lot of day trips with DH and had a lot of family time. I learned that this is all beyond my control and that stopping enjoying life is not the answer, I also learned to appreciate all the things I do have in my life and although I never stopped wishing, praying, hoping and believing that I would get pregnant....i didn't stop living my life and that is what got me through it. Big hugs to you, I know it's so so hard and feels at times like a very sad, lonely place...but you are not alone, we all understand how you feel on this thread and will support eachother until we all get our little babies....and we will! x

kiwiblue · 18/05/2015 14:25

Lindsay, that's a really tough situation - hope you're doing ok. Fingers crossed it happens naturally for you soon x

Laura- I'm not sure I have any good tips but I would say don't be too hard on yourself, I think most of us have moments like that from time to time! I had a couple of moments this week where I was out with friends who were with their toddlers and started to get tears in my eyes. Felt so silly but couldn't help myself. Maybe once you feel a little bit better later today you could talk to DH or a friend, sometimes it can help?? Hugs

Lauraqc · 18/05/2015 09:58

So I've turned into the person I've been dreading. Close friends have told us last night they're pregnant again. I don't know why but I feel jealous and bitter that it's not us. I can't stop crying. I've called in sick and can't face anyone today. Who is that person?! Argh. Any coping tips lovely ladies please?

lildottie · 18/05/2015 00:13

hi kat, not been on clomid myself but we did have a lady a whole back who got her bfp from clomid. think it was her third cycle on it. fx it works quickly for you.

Katgrant30 · 18/05/2015 00:06

Hello ladies hope you don't mind me joining in... I'Ve been TTC no 2 for 18mths + and now on my first cycle of clomid. In the 2ww at the moment, trying not to raise my hopes! It took a year almost to conceive my son, and I guess I'm not any younger! :)

Anyone else on clomid? Any success stories out there??

Mamama31 · 17/05/2015 22:14

I took 50mg b6 plus b100 complex, it lengthened my LP about 2-4 days.

lildottie · 17/05/2015 20:35

Lindsay that is awful. I don't know what I'd do of my dh said that to me. he didn't like the idea of ivf at first for similar reasons to ur dh but I was quite clear that for me it was not up for debate and he cane round to the idea by the time we had our referral appointment. I really hope you get your miracle. forgive me if you've said but have you tried b complex for your lp?

Vic yeah still trying naturally, tho probably only one more try left. AF was a day late. turned up today on 16dpo. bitch! luckily I've learnt not to get my hopes up!

Mamama31 · 17/05/2015 15:09

Lindsay oh my that is such a difficult thing for you both to go through as a couple. I really, really hope so much that it happens naturally for you both soon. I got my bfp at almost 2 years and I am determined to get another one before we would be up the ivf waiting list around dec-jan time. All we can do is keep trying and praying hard that it will happen. I'm sorry you have gone through such an emotional rollercoaster with it all, it must be very difficult to havesuch differing views. I hope you can stay strong together and conceive naturally very soon. Big hugs!

Lindsay81 · 17/05/2015 14:00

Thanks victoria I think of your story often and also selfishly wish for the same. Hope you're well!

victoria401 · 17/05/2015 13:58

I got what you meant lol! It happened for us after 2 and half years. I hope it does happen for you and that it happens soon.

Lindsay81 · 17/05/2015 13:42

Pertikity... LOL!

Lindsay81 · 17/05/2015 13:42

No, I don't think he'll change his mind chops I'm pretty certain he won't and in a weird way I'm glad that's he's now certain about it because if he was back and forward, that would make things worse. Similarly, I don't think I'll change my mind on adoption.

We have no explained pertikity issues, despite TTC for 2 years. My luteal phase rarely exceeds 10 days though, even though hormone results always come back ok.

Thanks for the well wishes! X

chopsface · 17/05/2015 13:26

Oh Lindsay how awful for you :-( is there any chance he will change his mind? Would you have to start again with the ivf waiting list? Is dh ok with adoption then? That seems like an awful gruelling process that you might not even pass. Plus you got get a baby as the process is so long, the child is at least 6 months old. Plus you need to have left a gap between not being able to conceive your own with proof of counselling etc. Shudder. I forget what your fertility issues are, is there a chance you could still fall naturally? Big hugs luvvie

Lindsay81 · 17/05/2015 13:17

Hi girls- hope everyone has had a nice weekend so far. I've read back a bit and see congrats are in order for MrsChatty! Xoxo

This has been one of the most difficult months of our 2 year long journey. We got to the top of the IVF waiting list and received the letter for our appointments.... And DH had a major freak out and decided he couldn't go through with it. He feels conception should be natural and loving and if we had a baby this way, he would always feel uncomfortable about it. He says we would be forcing something to happen, against nature.

I'm obviously gutted, he is terrified I will resent him and so upset for taking something away from us. But he has to be honest, I guess.

Just don't know where we go from here. Similar to how DH feels about IVF, I struggle with the thought of adoption. Making the call to cancel those appointments was so gut wrenching! :-(

victoria401 · 17/05/2015 09:01

Exciting news for you lil! Nice to have a date for ivf, are you still trying naturally til then? Be great if you need to cancel beforehand. I know it sounds unbelievable but it happens, I'm proof! Have fun doing your house in the meantime x

mama Malta was the perfect 'last couple holiday' no regrets :-)

lil brilliant news with ivf cycle! And like mama said tge new house offers a welcome distraction!!! It's so exciting buying a new home isn't it! Although I don't have the patience for remodeling...hence why I've only bought new builds...!! I'm jealous though you really get to put YOUR stamp on tge house xx

Mamama31 · 15/05/2015 23:34

Lil that's great news! All very exciting for you! Nice to have a timescale for ivf and you can focus on your lovely new house in the interim. I'm sure you are delighted :)

Vic/chopsface I hope all is going well, I'm sure Malta was beautiful!

lildottie · 15/05/2015 22:46

black I went to gp alone and she booked dhs sa for me as well as my bloods. we are at same surgery though, and I have a fantastic gp. you are definitely entitled to tests, don't let them fob you off with 2 years crap. they can refer sooner if there are indicators of infertility a d indicators need tests to find!

mama we are in and unpacked! took 2+ days just to clean as it was filthy. left the loft room until tonight but all carpets have now been cleaned Smile except master bedroom as we are ripping out en suite and redoing and taking out built in wardrobe. so excited.

in other news I've booked our next ivf. bcp starts July and first scan 26/8 with ec around 7/9. Grin

Thanks for the replies - I appreciate it, I will go to docs next week and see what they say x

chopsface · 15/05/2015 19:19

Hi blackcat welcome. If you have been ttc for 12 months with no luck, regardless of if you've conceived in the past, you are entitled to tests. Anything could have changed in you and your dh's body and lifestyle in the past year? We had a lady on here who had been ttc for a year or more since a mc and had all the tests. But without treatment we are both on the December antenatal thread together! It could still happen very soon, don't feel bad about your loss, it was really nothing you did. Losses happen because of a genetic issue with the embryo not your inability to keep hold of it. I wish you all the luck in the world Flowers

mrschatty · 15/05/2015 18:35

blackcat hello- welcome :)

Like mama said it's best to go to docs and see if they can advise/test

There may be an easily remidied reason as to why your not conceiving- good luck xxx

Mamama31 · 15/05/2015 16:48

Lil are you loving your new house? Congrats on the move! How are you doing with everything else?

Everyone else doing ok?

I'm doing a lot better but still no where near ovulation yet....wish it would hurry up!

Mamama31 · 15/05/2015 16:46

Welcome myblackcat and I'm so sorry for your loss. I have just had a mmc in april but that took a long time for me to conceive and I am just waiting to see what happens now. We are on the waiting list for ivf due to mild male factor (sperm antibodies). I would suggest going to your gp, probably a female would be best and just discussing how your feeling and request initial blood tests to check your hormone profile. Also send DH to his gp to request a sperm analysis. At least if you get those results you will feel better informed on where to go next. If there are any issues, it's good to get referred to fertility clinic sooner rather than later as depending where you live, waiting lists can be very long. We won't get ivf until the New Year but have been with the fertility clinic since Jan so it can take a long time and best to get the ball rolling.

And don't worry about getting upset, I think most of us on here have crumbled and cried to our GP's, it is only natural and they should understand if you have a good, supportive GP.

I hope you find lots of comfort and support on here. We all have very different experiences but all want the same thing so much and will support eachother whatever stage we are all at.
