Um ladies..... I'm 16/17dpo and I've just POAS...... I'm only frigging pregnant!! I'm sweaty and shaking and a gibbering wreck! No idea what I'm supposed to do now! Dh is telling me to stop panicking!

found you all again! hi honeybee and Katherine
I'd recommend acupuncture for relaxation, also meant to improve fertility. I also have some meditation CDs which are good when I find time to do them

non let us know when you get ivf dates. we'll be rooting for you!

Vic be positive. mind over matter and you never know, it may just work!

mrschatty I would say virtually normal is probably not as good as normal. definitely let us know what the detailed results are when you have them. and get dh on 1000mg vit c a day. our ivf consultant recommended this as there has been a study showungbit improves sperm quality. my dh had 3%morph 4%motility but was back in normal ranges when we got to our ivf cycle. good luck with your appt tomorrow.

sorry if I've missed anyone!

katherine7172 · 13/04/2015 21:36

Hi Vic, how're you?
Nope, always regular every month. This has never happened to me before, I get ovulation pains and that was the 21st/22nd March. I might take another test in the morning and see what happens. Not sure if I'm having pregnancy symptoms or, if I'm imagining it, driving me insane!
How is everyone else getting on?Smile

victoria401 · 12/04/2015 15:17

The doc actually said the IUI will leave me more prepared for IVF. Asked around on the clinics FB group and there were ladies on there who it worked for. Talking to dh about it earlier and he doesn't think it will work, deep down I have accepted it probably won't either. But there is a glimmer and I know I should be positive. Its bloody hard to put on a brave positive face though when you're falling apart inside.

Still waiting on sodding af. Never arrives when you need it does it?

OP posts:
Nonconformist34 · 12/04/2015 10:53

Vic Of course you can, no problem. I don't feel as daunted with IVF after 3 rounds of IUI so although we weren't successful, it has been useful. Fingers crossed for you, you never know!

victoria401 · 12/04/2015 09:09

Sorry the IUI didn't work for you non Flowers have a nice break from ttc until the ivf. Can I still pm you if I have any IUI questions whilst I'm going through it? I'm not feeling too hopeful it will work for us either but at least its doing something right? X

Hi all,

Well it's the end of this stage for me as AF arrived today, 13dpiui. I've been spotting brown stuff since 11dpiui which was unusual. All 3 IUI cycles have been different despite been inseminated on cd12 for all of them so word of caution for all those going for IUI. Plus this time, no side effects whatsoever from the cyclogest pessaries which was a relief.

So, we have the IVF referral form to sign and post tomorrow so should hear from them in the next few weeks, fingers crossed to start in the next few months. I'm absolutely fine about it, feel relieved really as I've always had a feeling before we started ttc 2 years ago that this is what would happen. I've always held onto the the thought that with every failed month, it was not meant to be our baby that month. We must all be positive that our babies will all come to us one day and when we have them in our arms, the heartbreaking wait and frustrating journey will be worth it.

Best of luck to the rest of you on here. I'll pop in now and again to see how you're all getting on and thank you for all your wisdom, help, guidance and support.

I am now looking forward to a few months break of freedom. No time pressured dtd, no checking ovulation dates or AF arrival. It's been a while! Xxxxxxx

victoria401 · 11/04/2015 22:04

Its a quiet thread Katherine but we are always lurking in the background ready to help each other! Have you been late before? Are your cycles the same every month? Have you been stressed? Do you track ovulation, could it have been delayed/absent this month, apparently its usual to have an anovulatory cycle occasionally. Or maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who get a positive test a week later!?

News guys.... I've phoned the clinic about starting IUI this cycle. So when af arrives (due tomorrow) I can phone to book my baseline scan! If af does arrive tomorrow my scan will be on my birthday, which I've booked off work to do something nice! I didn't book anything just in case. As I work at the hospital, I will be spending my day off at flipping work practically! Getting on the same bus..... Its a good cause though! I was hoping af was gonna start today so the scan would be Monday and I could just pop across departments. Egg must have held out the full 36 hours from pos opk.

Hope you're feeling better today lil, thinking about you x x

Hi Victoria
My husband has had a sperm test, I've had swabs and blood tests, we're just waiting the results of my blood tests. My sister recommended reflexology as she's a beautician and she said that it can help some women conceive, so may have to look into that! Sounds like you keep yourself busy then, I'll have to try some new things to distract me then :)
My period is late by 3 days as well, so really need to keep busy and distracted! I tested the first day it was late and it was negative, so no idea what's going on!

Thank you, everyone's made me feel really welcome since coming on here!

mrschatty · 11/04/2015 08:24

Hi Katherine welcome to the group!! Your in the right place!!! I agree with honeybee running or exceecise really takes the edge off!!!

We're going to collect the results om Monday as I need to give them to my own gp Tuesday when I see her for my referral letter. They hardly went into ANY details when I phoned she just read through and said 'it says here results are virtually normal no need to retest...get the results when you can'!!!! When I have them ill be posting the particulars for us to discuss haha xx

victoria401 · 10/04/2015 19:58

Hi Katherine I have also been ttc over 2 years now. Most of last year when I was going through the tests I found very hard but then since being referred to the clinic and know treatments are on the horizon I feel much better! Have you had tests etc? A diagnosis? Offered treatments? Also if you are a day late, silly question, have you bought a test!

I have been having reflexology the past year or so and I find it really calms me and makes things easier to cope with. I have also taken up new hobbies and now go out most weekends with my camera taking wildlife photos and birdspotting! I also do Yoga, which ends with a breathing meditiation, which is great for both body and mind.

Erm I wouldn't take 'virtually normal' as a satisfactory answer mrschatty! Did they give the results to your dh? Did he ask any questions? Can you ask the docs for a print out so you can check the figures against normal ranges?

OP posts:
katherine7172 · 10/04/2015 13:53

Thanks honey! I'll have to go running, see if it makes a difference, you're definitely right about Facebook. Every time I go on there, someone I know is announcing their pregnancy or just had a baby.
Just struggling at the minute particular as my period is a day late, I have no cramps or sore boobs, which I always have every month without fail. Trying not to get my hopes up but, seems impossible!

honeybeebumble · 10/04/2015 13:48

mrschatty - yes, I'm pretty sure that means it's ok! I'm sure they would say if not. You can ask for a breakdown of some of the stats around motility etc if you want more info?

Katherine I'm on the one year mark and I'm not sure I'm going to be much help, but I'm finding that doing things that require pure concentration i.e. music or exercise are helping! And not spending time on Facebook. It's an emotional minefield!

katherine7172 · 10/04/2015 13:42

Hope it's okay for me to post on here, don't want to gate crash!

Me and my hubby have been trying for 2 years now, just wanted some advice on how to relax/forget about it? Everyone keeps telling me to relax and then it will happen, feel like it's all I think about from waking till I fall asleep! :(

mrschatty · 10/04/2015 13:30

Guys my husbands results have come back as 'virtually normal' does that mean literally what I think it means- all ok?? I'm still flapping!!!

honeybeebumble · 10/04/2015 09:56

hi mrschatty - we're on 12 months now. Getting pregnant is not quite going how I expected it to!

Victoria - I think you're probably right as I haven't had an ultrasound yet. I'm 29 and my mum's eggs weren't good enough quality (or something like that) by the time she came round to trying IVF when she was 31 or 32 ish. She had me after a year and a half on Clomid when she was 27.

lildottie I see you're on here too - hello! Hope you're doing ok?

victoria401 · 09/04/2015 20:12

Welcome to the group honeybee! It seems they do things differently in different areas. I was never referred to a gynae consultant. My GP referred me to get an ultrasound after my bloods, I guess that's prob the next step for you. And then maybe a HSG to check your tubes. I have no experience of Clomid and the criteria needed to give it. How old are you? Is there early menopause in your family then?

Victoria I cannot pester any more! My Dr is great she was like PHONE THEM AND TELL THEM TO SEND THEM NOW!!! but DH is with another Dr surgery and although they have been great and phoned the lab to ask them to send them the lab blankly refused!!!!! I'm at the end of my tether I need them by Tuesday as I have my Dr appointment

Honeybee welcome to our club :):) how long u been ttc? I'm on 19m now! X

honeybeebumble · 09/04/2015 17:07

Hello!

I haven't posted on this thread before but it feels appropriate and I was hoping to ask for other people's advice/experiences...

DH and I have been ttc for just over a year now. I've had blood tests (borderline progesterone levels, everything else ok) and he's had SA (which was fine). We've been referred to the gynae and my appointment is in just over a week. The letter gives nothing away - has anyone who has been at this stage got any insights/tips? Not really sure what to expect - will this appointment be just a chat? What are the next tests they might suggest? My mum was on clomid before getting pregnant with me... (and then couldn't have any more kids). She's told me to be forceful because, even though I'm still quite young, it sounds like genetics may mean my clock is ticking a bit more urgently.

Any pearls of wisdom welcome! Hope you are all well and surviving the ups and downs (especially when it feels everyone around you seems to get the job done first time!).

x

victoria401 · 09/04/2015 09:48

Oh and the clinic do the test the same day hour so the results are there!!! Get the clinic to fax the results to the GP or the GP to chase the results. There is no need for this wait at all when you are anxious about it.

OP posts:
victoria401 · 09/04/2015 09:46

mrschatty Have you been bugging the docs for the result? I got my dh to call up when we hadn't heard for 2 weeks. They said the result was there but was waiting for the GP to look at it. Which they then arranged and the GP called my dh with the results. Worth a shot?

OP posts:
mrschatty · 08/04/2015 13:19

Hay lovelies :)
I've had my day 21 bloods back Dr glanced through them and said 'Yes Fine' she is a very no nonsense lady...took my day 2 bloods yesterday.
Still no response about DH SA...calling the hospital and telling them 'DON'T SEND A REPORT JUST THE RESULTS!!!' And they refuse!!! My Dr has said a referral to fertility clinic is no problem and she will do it as soon as we have DH results...its been 2 weeks now surely that's ridiculously long? X

victoria401 · 08/04/2015 10:24
