Ahh Rosa thats lovely.

Trying we were about to start the ball rolling for ivf when i concieved my son. We ve ruled it out for no 2 as my chances would be very slim with my age and amh level and we are so so lucky to have DS that we feel it would be too much to put us all through as a family (dh definetly wouldn t go for it). So SO is as assisted as we will go so just gotta hope it works......ds just jumps at the oportunity to play with other kids at the park now and asked the other day if his cousin could be his brother.......Sad he hasn t asked directly yet for a sibling but i know the question will come soon and it ll break my heart particulary having lost the baby last year. I so hope i can do this for him.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/05/2015 22:42

I just texted your post to DH, he's coming to the end of a late shift, and he says it proves there are nice people out there, he just wishes he had met more of them this evening haha

Drttc · 27/05/2015 22:17

Awwww Rosa!!! That's so sweet!! Send him our thanks :)

Rosa27 · 27/05/2015 22:09

I know it's tough for them too and they know there are more of us.. He looks genuinely sad when I tell him one of you are struggling and is also genuinely rooting for you all :)

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/05/2015 21:56

Aw rosa that is so sweet.

When I having a down moment DH says to me 'but an hour ago you were just telling me about so and so on mumsnet and all they've been through and they have a baby/ are pregnant now so you can't give up'

Rosa27 · 27/05/2015 21:38

My DH told me he wants me to tell you all he's wishing you all lots of love and luck and even through he doesn't know you he things about you too and hopes it will work out for all of you. He made me promise I'd write this!

Hula2 · 27/05/2015 20:56

Thanks trying. I haven t spoken to dr s but before i did it he said in some people the levels dont go down or even go up (5%) after 1st round but with a second round the studies showed the women still has as much sucess getting pregnant (and some more than those that didn t flare). Who knows, but feel like i ve started so i prob need to see it thru tho would have much rathered i d only needed one course but this journey is never going to be straightforward so not surprised.

Bet you re itching to get started !

Tryingno1 · 27/05/2015 20:36

Just wanted to say, we r all really
Lovely cheering Eachother on..... Glad I have u guys to obsses with :) and looking fwd to lots of BFP babies and then second babies! (Maybe?!)

Pre af emotions?!

Tryingno1 · 27/05/2015 20:34

Hi hula sorry stupid af arrives again. Glad u have taken plunge for so-I hope it works for u! U will know exactly when u ovulate so can time
Pred perfectly...hope the humira works for u this time! Did u ask mr s why they didn't go down?

Hula2 · 27/05/2015 20:21

Wow it s all go on here ! Great news Drttc and Rosa so pleased your scan was all good. Lets keep the bfps coming ! Trying i ve got a good feeling for you.

Afm af showed up yesterday so i need to crack on with next round of Humira (what fun....at least i can t have anymore after that !) Then should be good to start SO next month. Have an appt with Dr S to get set up next week. Interesting what you did with the pred drttc as i m convinced the 10 day course messed my cycle. Maybe i ll try a shorter course on a superov cycle.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/05/2015 19:58

Hmmm there is a lot to think about isn't there.

I don't really have high hopes for my wtf cycle. I don't think I tend to ovulate so I don't bother usually. But if it were to happen I would want to be as far along as possible before going on holiday.

Don't worry I won't be rushing back to work. I've had colleagues take more than six weeks off for having a minor crash at less than 15mph, so I think I deserve a little more than a week to recuperate.

seeking I had intralipids a couple of weeks ago and it was funny trying to find something appropriate to watch on Netflix for two hours whilst the nurse was there, but she was very nice, she used to work for zita west.

Seekingmiracles · 27/05/2015 19:26

Glad your intralipids went well Sunny and good luck with yours Friday Drttc. It's fine, the nurses are used to small talk. My nurse was there 2.5 hours and it went really quick.

Glad you're feeling up to ttc again Snoopy, don't go back to working til you feel ready and be very pushy with them and what you feel comfortable doing.

I've generally always used ic opks and they've always worked for me. Generally I ovulate around cd18/19.
Obviously I didn't use them this time as I fell of between 1st and 2nd appointment with Dr S. Do the plan as you feel comfortable. I've been taking aspirin since March but I do have a slight blood clotting issue. As others have said, many Drs have differing opinions but they also have differing opinions on Nk cell testing altogether.

I'm feeling very positive for this thread ladies.... Positivity all round Smile

Drttc · 27/05/2015 18:51

The month the opk didn't work I skipped the pred. Not just because I couldn't pin point ovulation, it was also because I just felt something was off with my body. I knew something wasn't right & taking the steroids weren't going to help it.

This month I had a positive ovulation test on CD12, which is bang on what I always was before pred. I decided to take pred on CD19 to minimize cycle damage if I got a BFN this month. I've also heard of other women doing this. It's completely personal to you, and everyone's body is unique. If my cycle had not been altered before, I would have taken pred exactly when instructed. Personally, I feel like skipping the pred last month helped my cycle return to normal this time. Could have been coincidence though!

I gave it a lot of thought each month & even discussed with my husband before making any decisions. I made sure I was completely happy with my decision in the long run, so it's best to decide on exactly what you're comfortable with! You probably want to at least try the strict protocol because you'll feel at ease that first month- plus you may catch! It also may have no affect on your cycle, so no changes required! I'd see how it goes :)

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/05/2015 18:06

So did you just guess what day to start from your average cycle length drttc if the opks weren't working.

I tend to have a 33 day cycle and seem to ovulate on day 19 when things are working.

I've got some internet cheapies so I can pee away and not worry about wasting them.

Rosa27 · 27/05/2015 18:04

Snoopy - I almost religiously followed Mr S plan too.. But I did wait until BFP to start asprin (as no sticky blood issues) and I also waited a day or two after ov to start pred so was taking a bit less each month and to hopefully not affect my cycles (it didn't). So that could be an option but of course your choice and I'm sure the total religious following of the plan is better .. But you do also have to feel good about waft you do. All the best and bug the hell out of your work to sort the new role out ASAP. X

Tryingno1 · 27/05/2015 17:19

That's ok snoopy post away! The clearblue ones r exp but give u a simple smile or not! I used ones from home bargains and they were my fav. Tested at 2ish after holding wee for 3 hours and not drinking. Always got a postive on a day 15. U will see the lines darken every day.
Don't panic if u don't get a postive sometimes People miss their surge etc. I know some women haven't used Sticks and just take pred day 16/17 as most women would have ovulated by then.

Drttc · 27/05/2015 17:18

Hi again Snoopy- just wanted to say that yes pred definitely affected my cycle. I've always been like clockwork then suddenly the month after taking pred I couldn't detect ovulation (no fertile CM except for on CD7!) on clearblue digital ovulation kit, started spotting early on (unusual), and had only a 23 day cycle.

Because I suspected something wasn't right I skipped pred during that weird cycle (last month), and everything went back to normal this time around. I started pred on CD19 this month & was going to stop after 4 days if I got a negative test. But got a BFP :) So still on it!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/05/2015 17:13

Well I guess I will respect DHs wishes and follow Dr S's plan to the letter. It's definitely working for lots of people here Smile

Well you guys are going to get bombarded with a hell of a lot of pictures of opks with the question 'is this positive yet?' Haha

Tryingno1 · 27/05/2015 16:49

Hi snoopy. The asprin thing is a huge debate and people have different views. I spoke to mr SHehata about it and he said it was based on one study that he thought was crap! He pointed out most ivf units use aspirin-which is true. Well mine do regardless of immune issues or not. So pick a a side u feel
Comfortable with and go for it! Most
Of us on here were fine with pred-think drtcc and hula felt is affected their cycles.....

Rosa I listen/watch to Sarah micillian. I find her hillarious. Just 5 mins at night to get some endorphins going!

Drttc · 27/05/2015 15:59

Thanks, Sunny! Glad to hear your Intralipids went well :) Ive just booked my first Intralipid for this Friday... Was surprised I sorted it so quickly lol! Guess I'll have to tidy now... When is your first scan?

Rosa- yay on your scan!!! Sooooo close to the 12 week mark. And your harmony results!

Thanks Snoopy! Hope you're okay. It's very scary going back to trying after experiencing loss. We understand and will be here for advice.

Cheers Determined :)

You know, I also think the stats they have on loss are well underestimated. It's a tough subject to be open about as people don't want to bring others down... But I agree that a lot more people than we expect are suffering silently (even from their GP's).

Determined123 · 27/05/2015 14:10

Congrats Drttc! So pleased for you and all you ladies with your positive news! Who hoo Smile

I'm glad you are not back at work yet snoopy...you are doing the right thing by making some changes there! Re aspirin diff docs believe diff things so I think I either go with my gut or do what my doc says so I've done everything but the book! It's a hard one with so many ch conflicting info

Xxx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/05/2015 13:10

Yeah well done drttc!!!!

All you guys are an inspiration. I'm so happy there are so many positive stories on here right now.

I seemed to have stopped bleeding and got a negative hpt, so DH wants to get straight back to TTC.

I'm very scared. We are going away to the U.S. for two weeks in September so if I'm going to be out of the danger zone i would have to get pregnant pretty soon. DH says I'm being silly, that it won't happen again, he has complete faith.

I'm trying to be hopeful but I'm scared. Simple things like doing opks and early hpts scare me. What if I read it wrong, what if I start the steroids on the wrong day? What if an early positive is just a chemical? What if I struggle to get pregnant on pred, DH is used to getting pregnant every time we try.

I'm still not back at work. I told them I'm not working shifts and I'm not dealing with anything so stressful anymore and my line manager has agreed but no one has taken any steps towards identifying a new position so I'm in limbo.

I'm also concerned about taking aspirin every day as some doctors seem to think it hinders implantation but I have been taking it. What were your experiences?

Sorry this post is so me me me, but I think only the people here will understand.

I have me fingers crossed for all of you.
