Hi everyone - so got a bfn as expected today. Didn't plan to test as felt pmt symptoms for days but felt compelled as day 32 and a day longer than usual & still no sign. Wonder if hydroxy and /or pred lengthening my cycle.hmm
Looks like nobody posted for ages but I bet I see lots appear as soon as I post. I don't know what I do!!
Thinking of you all and hoping you're feeling positive x

Tryingno1 · 09/02/2015 15:57

Thanks sunny! I think I'll wait for these investigations and give it a go at month 8. No point if theres a reason why its not happening naturally. Still can't understand why not gotten preg. It's so weird! 3 easy goes now its all stopped!
Postive thinking, postive thinking!

sunnyday01 · 09/02/2015 15:21

yes we did get the results back - apparently we didn't have the right pot so we had to get another pot and book another appt - so annyoing esp as they lost the first sample we did too!

I have no issues on SO, no side effects on the drugs, and you only have one scan (well i have only ever had one scan) i think dr s likes to see you the first couple of months as he needs to check how you are responding (for example i was put on 5mg and was responding ok so he was happy for me to go locally). I guess if for any reason you were not responding well, he may ask you to go back but i haven't heard that from anyone recently (although seen that on previous threads of this fourm - maybe that was when he was still experiementing with it all?). I always had 2 follicles, except month 3 where i has only 1 (was put up to 7.5mg) and then in month 5 I had three. Will be interesting to see how it goes when i am back on it next month.

Since starting the prog of treatment - SO/pred etc my cycle has gone from 30 days to 27/28 days.

And sunny did u ever get ur DH sperm back. I'm hoping my DH goes this month!

Tryingno1 · 09/02/2015 14:06

Hula glad ur cycle is behaving! I think ur plan to throw in everything is a good one! I don't know why I'm being so hesitant!

Tryingno1 · 09/02/2015 14:04

Sunny/determined-on SO how many times do u get scanned? Is it just the once a month? And any issues with the meds? I'm gonna give it another month or 2 and then seriously consider it....determined the month u got preg how many follicles did u have? Just wondering if it Improved that or just ur lp?

Hula2 · 09/02/2015 13:05

Hi Ladies,

Snoopy sorry it s so stressful for you at the moment. Like the other s say stay positive and re work do whatever you have to to make it easier on yourself, no one else matters in the bigger picture.

Sunny bet it s weird not ttc, i actually found it really hard to ignore fertile signs the mn after my mc but def good to give your body a month to recover.

Hi everyone else.

I got a bfn 11 dpo this morning and don t feel preg so looks like i m out. I m ok about it as we ve got our ski weekend in a couple of wks and a review and repeat bloods with mr s the week after so will be a chance to reformulate the plan. I did nt take anything ghis month and thankfully looks like my cycle bounced back ok. Think i will give pred another try nxt mn but maybe ask about a sl lower dose to see if that avoid screwing my cycles ! Also depending on what cytokines have done might consider humira ....

I understand how you feel about SO trying as i too ovu myself and have a normal LP but i am considering it because i guess at my age more of the eggs may be duff so if u get two it s almost like have two months chance in one. However my reservation is if my cycles react to that too ! Maybe i should plan one month where i throw the kitchen sink at it and accept i ll prob have to put dh out to pasture for the next month while it all recovers !!Grin

Tryingno1 · 09/02/2015 08:19

Sorry ur struggling snoopy. Like sunny said, be postive. it makes a diff. hope ur DH can helpi when ur mum not around. People r idiots! My boss told my whole department when I miscarried! And I'm a medic!!! And he knew it was confidential. U would expect more sensitivity but actually he's just a gossip. It really affected me as I'm a very private person. I've learnt to just ignore all that crap and focus on me and DH now, people have nothing better sometimes to do with their life than gossip. They gossip if u have bad or good news, so now my attitude is that they can just F off! I could have made a song and dance about it at the time but was so upset I left it. But whenever I see him my blood boils! An issue to discuss at my counselling session as I still ruminate over it.

Sunny-enjoy the break! U will be back on it soon, glad things seem to be going back to normal. I'm gonna ask mr lower about his opinions of SO for me , as I'm ovulating and have a normal LP I'm reluctant (this is of course that no major problems are picked up next week).

sunnyday01 · 09/02/2015 07:43

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend! It's so weird not thinking about trying for a baby or where I am in my cycle, not sure if I'm enjoying it or missing it lol. Signs indicate I'm ovulating over next few days so at least things seem to be getting back to normal.

Snoopy - sorry you are having such a hard time, work sounds like a nightmare and the office manager sounds like an idiot- I think it's very unfair to tell everyone, without at least talking to you first. I think when you have had previous mc it is very emotional being pregnant but you have to try and stay strong and be positive, you have a baby growing inside you and it needs to know that you are positive and strong - positive mental attitude and all that - i really think that makes a difference. Like trying says, look after yourself.

trying sorry AF arrived. you're right, it is hard to be selfish.

There were more tears tonight so I've not gone in for my night shift. DH and I are on the same team so I'm staying with mum whilst he's working. I have to tell work so I can be moved into an office role. Last time I was in an office where I didn't have anything to do and this time they want to move me to an office with three heavily pregnant women and a manager who doesn't want me there and has already told people I'm pregnant without my permission.

I'm really scared I won't be able to cope when my mum goes away for a week at the end of the month, she's only a five minute walk away and I'm really relying on her emotionally at the moment.

Tryingno1 · 08/02/2015 13:35

Oh snoopy. I think it's just the stress of it all. I cried alt day with my third preg as the anxiety of it all was just too much. And I'm not that much of a cry baby. But I did just really struggle.
With my second preg that was going along perfectly till week 9, and I had a good 6 week scan. I had No syptoms at all till 6/7 weeks. Then serious vomiting began. However in my first I had sore boobs from 2 days before hpt. I think each preg is very diff. It's easy to overanalyse. Try some Meditation, postive thinking, go to work or stay at home (whichever allows u to be stronger). I don't think I looked after myself well enough last preg. I regret that. So just be kind to urself, prioritise u (if u can, know its hard to be shelfish!) and believe it will work out x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 08/02/2015 13:29

Hello all, just one more question haha.

Did you have any odd symotoms on cyclogest? I haven't had any bloating, cramps or nausea, my chest is a bit bigger but doesn't really hurt. What's worrying me is that I'm finding it really difficult to get through the day without crying. The crying had started the day before I started the cyclogest so I'm not sure if it is that but I'm finding it really hard to deal with. I literally start sobbing for no reason. This didn't happen with my last pregnancy.

Tryingno1 · 08/02/2015 13:17

Yum walnut whip! Def can't be good all the time! I had a slice of cake yest :)
Having a nutribullet drink though now!
My af arrived, obv I knew it would so actually not bothered. It's got to happen at some point, I just can't understand why this time is taking me so long! It's not like I've aged by 5 years that it should be taking so much longer. Anyways wot can u do! Onwards and upwards! Rosa I hope ur ok with the needles etc, just get ur DH to do them!
Have a lazy Sunday everyone x

Rosa27 · 08/02/2015 12:36

*Sunday!

Rosa27 · 08/02/2015 12:35

Trying- fx crossed for you, I'm sure though there will be positive things to be do either way.. You've all the best informed people on your side, so try stay positive.

Hope- it's so lovely hearing how well things are going.. Do keep in touch and let us know every mini milestone as it helps us all keep the faith!
Congrats to Snoopy too! This thread will become more positive as the month rolls on, I can feel it!
Personally I'm just waiting for af- have all the signs and should appear tomorrow. Tbh would be scared if I was wrong as only took half pred for 4 days when started to get pre ad symptoms. I'm looking fwd to SO bringing me luck.
The sun is shing today - hope everyone is enjoying their Subday .. I've just eaten two walnut whips!! Oink.. But had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast.. Can't be good all the time ;) x

Tryingno1 · 08/02/2015 08:59

Hi dildoos? How u doing?

I slept these last 2 nights so well. Last week I don't think I was able to sleep more than a few hours. I hope my appt next next week doesn't have bad news!

dildoos · 07/02/2015 20:35

Congrats snoopy! Bless you what a nerve racking time for you when should be happy days , we all know feeling well. Keep with cyclogest and fx all is a sticky sticky one for you xx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 07/02/2015 14:40

Thanks trying. I'm not going to do anymore tests, the last three yesterday were clearly positive so I'm just going to hurt myself if I am constantly checking.

Tryingno1 · 07/02/2015 12:59

Ps don't think we are smart(well not me) we are women obsessed! Hah

Tryingno1 · 07/02/2015 12:59

I know missed miscarriages are the worst. I've had 2 and . I had no idea there was a problem in my first missed miscarriage as I was vomiting that morning and 9 weeks..they r very cruel. (Although I had one miscarriage before that wasn't a missed one so I knew it was over st away)
But in summary, the cyclogest won't mask it for long. It will become apparent which may its going soon. And I hope it's the right way! All the best x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 07/02/2015 12:54

Oh tryingno1 I'm so sorry to hear you've had a bad time recently. I often lurk around this thread because you're all so smart and I really think I've learnt a lot from you guys.

To be honest that is exactly the answer I was looking for. What really blindsided me before was that I had no symptoms of miscarriage and the baby just didn't have a heart beat on the scan. I can relax a bit knowing that it will still happen if it's going to and that I'm doing all I can.

It is so scary and I wish you all the best for the future, you're all wonderful people and you've really helped me.

Tryingno1 · 07/02/2015 12:46

Hi snoopy.
Firstly congrats on the bfp. It's so stressful isn't it?
Hpt varies depending on how concentrated ur wee is-so it can look darker or lighter. I think it's too hard to know at this stage. A few of us have been on cyclogest and miscarried before (infact 3 of us recently and me 7 months ago) and it didn't mask it for very long. We all spotted within a few days. So, keep going with it and either way u will know soon. I was worried about the same and weeks passing and I wouldn't know. But within a few days I spotted. As did the other girls on this thread.
I'm sorry ur going through this, but keep postive and hopeful, that will help the bean too! Fingers crossed for u. hpt are not that reliable at this stage x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 07/02/2015 12:10

Hello ladies. I don't know if any of you remember me but I gatecrashed your last thread to ask about my thyroid.
I went to see Dr Shehata in January after my miscarriage in December and he was great, he didn't push me to have a whole raft of tests but listened to my concerns about my thyroid which he tested and was happy that shouldn't cause a problem. He prescribed cyclogest 400mg once a day from when I get a bfp and advised that taking 75mcg of aspirin would definitely not cause a miscarriage.

Fast forward to 3rd February and I get a bfp and start the cyclogest. I'm not sure how long my cycles are. I came off the pill in sept and got a bfp 33days later. I got Af 33 days after my erpc which started jan 4th so going by that Af should have been due yesterday. I tested yesterdy morning and got a fainter line than before, cue panic attacks and hysterics but after three tests later in the day that were definitely positive I calmed down a bit.

Dr s has advised I stay on the cyclogest as tests tend to be all over the place at the very start of a pregnancy.

I guess what I'm really worried about is the cyclogest masking an early miscarriage. I'm not psychologically strong enough to keep testing (I'm going to ask for counselling) and I was just wondering if any of you had any experience of this. I know it's not a very high dose so hopefully if it was going to happen it would just happen naturally wouldn't it?

I know this is off topic but you were all so kind and helpful the last time I posted and you are the most knowledgable people around.

Tryingno1 · 07/02/2015 09:14

Wow hope! Such wonderful news! So happy for u, congrats :)

Hopender · 07/02/2015 08:30

Meant to also say welcome Smidge! I've just finished tapering the pred and I'm convinced taking it has made the difference in this pregnancy after seven losses. Very best of luck!
