Tryingno1 · 20/02/2015 20:56

Tryingno1 · 20/02/2015 20:13

Hi determined! Been thinking of u! How r u?

Determined123 · 20/02/2015 20:13

Bloody mumsnet! I just wrote a really long post to you all catching up and it's lost it! Angry sorry been away...been so busy I haven't had time to breath!!

Smidge sending huge hugs to you right now! X

Waves to all and good luck where ever you are in CD XXX

Tryingno1 · 20/02/2015 13:11

Smidge my acupunturist says that when she started her job she didn't feel comfortable saying it...but after 20 years exp she feels comfortable saying if ur strong enough and if ur mind is able to keep
Going u will get ur baby.

Her Moto is-not when u want it, now how u want it. But u will get it in the end. Enjoy ur life and it will come to u.....she's told me about the most amazing stories of women who have failed a number of ivf and then got preg naturally?! Or eventually got there with more ivf....
We all have to keep going!

Have good weekend everyone. I have friends coming to stay. Need excuse to not drink?!

Hula2 · 20/02/2015 07:34

Oh smidge nothing is ever easy, there is so much effort involved in an ivf cycle that gets ur hopes up so for it not to work must be so so hard. Since you ve only really had one try with full immune tx id definetly say there is still hope if you can feel strong enough to try again. I guess it ll be a few more months before u can do that so i d say take that time to really spoil yourself and rebuild your strength, do lovely things with your dh and enjoy life and that will help rebuild those positive thoughts. Hugs

Smidge001 · 20/02/2015 02:50

Thanks trying and doldoos for your kind thoughts. I had the blood test today which confirmed the BFN. You'd think it would be easier, knowing it was negative already, but I found it just as hard. Sad

So now I have to start reducing my predisolone dosage over the next couple of weeks.

Hope you are all doing well. Glad to hear positive mental attitudes out there. Hopefully some of that will rub off on me over the next few days/weeks. Flowers

Tryingno1 · 19/02/2015 20:53

I know hula! I shouldn't have said that! Apologies! How hillarious and insane!

Good attitude, we will get there in end - we have to!

Hula2 · 19/02/2015 20:44

Oh no trying i m not going to be able to get that out of my head now - ha ha !!!!

It s great you ll feeling chilled dildoos and totally makes sense about the pred. i m also trying not to stress and take a more pragmatic what will be will be approach (rather than panicking about drugs/age gap/poor reserve/menopause etc etc ....!!!) . As long as we can preserve our sanity and determination then we can keep going until we get there, whenever that is going to be.

Tryingno1 · 19/02/2015 20:42

So true fb is such a pain in my ass I'm actually off it! Was sick of baby bombs and messages from
People who r not my friend from 10 years ago!

Wow dildoos, u have bounced back quick. Ur incredibly strong. I hope it happens for u-are u still keeping to the trying for a year thing? There's a lady on the "recurrent miscarriage and assisted conception" thread who had v high nk cells and decided to take nothing before or during preg and after 4 miscarriages is preg with no 2?!!! It's so confusing! Make me think when it's meant to happen it just does, despite the pred etc! If I ever get a bfp I'm def taking the pred though!

dildoos · 19/02/2015 20:29

Trying I felt out of control for so long it's taken this first mc on the pred to make me totally insane and for me to get a grip on thinking about my emotional well being . It took a lot longer than normal for me to bounce back as usually so jolly and I feel so chilled at the moment and don't want to loose his feeling by taking pred I that makes sense?

Hula I found the saying on FB and thought wow that's the first useful thing on FB ad it related to is all on here.

X

Tryingno1 · 19/02/2015 20:19

I'm due to ovulate on Sunday I think. Not doing a lh stick as its been postive day 14 for many months now. Plus got my ecwm today so tmrw we DTD in morning too! (Don't think of me though haha!)

Hula2 · 19/02/2015 20:17

Dildoos thats a lovely saying and you re right we WILL get there !

Fair enough re the pred, many just take it from bfp.

Trying - looks like we re nearly in sync as i reckon i m gonna ov tomorrow or latest sat. However not sure i ll have much chance as this is crazy early (day 8 or 9 !!!!) and dh was away yesterday so last bd was mon and he s feeling really crap with a cold tonight but hopefully will rally for the morning.

I was going to try pred again but with this really early ov don t think it s worth it so maybe nxt month.

Tryingno1 · 19/02/2015 20:14

Am glad dildoos. Funny now u feel more in control off everything! To be fair I'm now only on pregnacare and have stopped all else for same reason. It's such a chore taking so much stuff and I conceived pretty easy on just plain folic acid before!

Rosa how did u get on with SO?

dildoos · 19/02/2015 20:09

Go go go trying!
I have good feelings for you ! It's your turn !

I haven't ovulated yet so late for me but I just think am taking a month out this month and I actually feel in control again which is a lovely feeling, my decision, my choice, no drugs an it feels good. That's been a long time coming.

How are you smidge? Have been thinking about you.

How are you all hula? Determind? Hope? Snoopy? Sunny? And anyone I have forgotten xx

Tryingno1 · 19/02/2015 10:09

Hi dildoos. How u holding up? Ur DH was away during ovulation anyways so I suppose no pred is good.

Such a true saying. Def very apt for us.
I'm entering ovulation time so will be busy this weekend Wink

dildoos · 19/02/2015 06:50

Smidge. What a roller coasters or you and dh. I hope you see some light soon and find it in you to carry on trying ,
I saw a beautiful saying the other day which reminded me of all us ladies.

Good things come to those who
believe,
Better things come to those who wait,
The best things come to those who don't give up .

Hope this helps all of is mentally.

I have finally made a decision for this month, no pred as can't bare feeling depressed.

Xx

Tryingno1 · 18/02/2015 21:03

Are u going to go again on another cycle?
Hope ur looking after urself x

Smidge001 · 18/02/2015 21:02

They will do genetic testing on the embryos here, yes. But we haven't done that so far - initially just the expense but in fact we've only ever had one blastocyst available for transfer by day 5 each time anyway, so it's not as if we had a choice to pick the better one iykwim, so in the end it hasn't seemed to be worth doing. (Though perhaps it would give us an explanation).

Tryingno1 · 18/02/2015 20:41

U too smidge. Let us know wot ur clinic says and if they have any helpful thoughts of where u go from here. Hope ur coping ok Flowers
Do they do genetic testing on the embryos in aus? To make sure that they are putting in chromosomal normal ones back in? (My ivf knowledge isn't great at all-but think its called cgh or PGD which is slightly different)

Smidge001 · 18/02/2015 11:41

Ah OK, yes we tried 3 cycles of Clomid, but I have to agree that if you are already ovulating (as I was) it doesn't really feel as though it's the answer. Still, it seemed worth a try Smile. Good luck.

Tryingno1 · 18/02/2015 07:59

SO is clomid/letrazole to get more eggs. Sounds like u have tried that...

It is such a hard slog. But if u have hope and strength to go again hopefully it will work. It's so hard to stay postive all the time though...I find myself struggling too.

Smidge001 · 18/02/2015 07:19

Thanks Hula and trying. Our first treatment was without any immune, the second had a little (endo scratch and Clexane) and then the third had the most (adding in the intralipid infusion and prednisolone). So perhaps it is just a numbers game and we need to try more times with the immune treatments. Our problem is 'unexplained' although clearly my biopsy showed the elevated NK cells (and family have a history of immune issues). Sperm, tubes, uterus in theory all ok, but unprotected sex for 4 years, 'actively trying' (using OPKs etc) for 2, along with clomid and IVF without a hint of a positive suggests a natural conception is highly unlikely. Time is not on my side anymore either - I'll be 39 in a couple of months.

We're already private and our clinic is meant to be one of the best where we are, though they aren't very specific on publishing success rates over here. (We live in Aus as my husband is Australian). Our clinic does claim to be significantly better than others though and definitely gets most recommendations. They seem willing to try more than some of those that I've heard about back home (though that might just be NHS related).

You're right that if we finally conceive, I won't mind how long it has taken, and am sure that will be the 'right' child etc. the trouble of course is the not knowing if that will actually ever happen. It's such a lottery and such hard work.

Thanks for your support though, I really appreciate it. Can I ask what SO means trying? And if you need any info on IVF in the coming months I'm happy to impart the knowledge I've gained!

Hula2 · 17/02/2015 22:39

Smidge, what an emotional rollercoaster. You ve been very strong to go through all that 3 times i can understand how hard it must be. Was this the first attempt with immune treatment ? Have you read the alan beer book ? It may help give you hope. In there it says immune issues can be affecting egg quality too but that 85% (who have had multiple failures that have immune issues diagnosed) then get preg within 3 ivf cycles with immune tx. If you have done two without and just one with then maybe with adjustment of tx the next could be sucessful, or now you have an immune issue identifed may try naturally with immune treatment for a while ?
