Hula and Trying ... Sorry for your bfnsSad hopefully you can quickly refocus to next month but I know how hard it is of course. I doing expect BFP either but know will still be devastated esp as travelled to London for SO and all the additional drugs and full adherence to pred (with awful insomnia this time)
So lovely to hear your good news though Lilles... Please keep us up to date as we don't have enough good news in our wee group yet.
I'm also on complex prog and this is longest ever time to get pregnant. Wonder if it's not just my age but fact that your immune system get increasingly over active with every miscarriage. At least I think that's true.. Very encouraged you've got there though and everything crossed it continues to go well for you.. Smile

Tryingno1 · 04/03/2015 18:53

Hi lillies. With regards to telling people - my parents and 2 best friends know. I find I only like to talk about when it's on my terms and I want to. One friend brings it up now and then and I get very annoyed and have shut down with her. The other one just lets me rant/cry and blabber on..she doesn't have much to say though as she's not near ttc yet and has no kids..but at least she listens...my parents r supportive but sometimes they say stupid things like "ur not drinking alcohol at the hen next week are u". Really mum??? Really???! Firstly if standing on my head for an hr a day would get me preg I would be doing that! Do u not think im doing everytbing i can! And also if I want a drink I'll bloody have one! There's no evidence it causes delays in ttc () So sometimes I get very annoyed!

That's interesting u took a while to fall Preg this time, I'm struggling to concieve this time too. I'm going to tell myself everyday that this month it will happen! But I'm worried I've now become infertile! I've been worked up and nothing wrong yet....DH sperm Test is v soon..

Hula u love a good ski! U should
Go!

Keep going lillies u have done it 2ce before and will do it again! His plan obv works for u x

Hula2 · 04/03/2015 17:52

Lillies i so know what u mean about living in weeks. You do it in 2wk blocks ttc and then i found it creaps in days when preg. I really want a bfp but have to say i m terrified of living those days till 12wks (actually make that 40wks!) if i manage to get one. Hang in there, you ve got first hand proof it can work so just stay strong but yes sad we can t just breeze our pregs in blissful ignorance !

Re telling others only my sister and best friend know. Did discuss with my mum a while back but she reactly badly to the idea of me taking steriods and just made me more anxious about taking stuff which i really didn t need so gone as quiet as poss on that front.

Lilliesandchocolate · 04/03/2015 12:58

Out of interest, do you talk to people in real life about this journey? Couple of close friends and parents knew what we were going through, finding Mr S and I spoke freely for a while after having dc2 but I'm going quiet again now I'm going back through it. Just 1 friend and parents know, which helps with my "pretend it's not happening" protection thing I've got going on.
My reaction to getting this BFp was to put my head in my sand because of all that's happened in the past. But of course, I can't, I'm forced to make plans to give it the best shot but doing so makes me feel I'm tempting fate.

The amount of times I've wished I could be one of those girls who don't realise they're pregnant til half way through!

Lilliesandchocolate · 04/03/2015 12:52

Thanks ladies,
Yes one pred baby who's now 2.5. It was only the pred and pesseries then so it does feel a whole new ball game having intripalids. Find having the pred ok, just wake every morning with such a dry mouth.
We've an appt for Epsom for a few weeks, we are way down south so it's easier for us. But then off into Wimbledon for the infusion if all is well. Such a pain having it all separate but never mind, needs must. I heard there's going to be a new clinic opening in a few months in Epsom?
Hope your feeling ok Hula, a holiday sounds great. I really needed a break from this, I find it so hard living in weeks, constantly thinking about it.

Hula2 · 04/03/2015 12:08

Oh don t worry trying, i did nt think anything was insensitive.

Epsom is impossible for me too so also have to go to HS.
Don t think i ve had to wait that long b4 altho as u say at least it give u another cycle.

We might go skiing with DS in a couple of wks in which case i ll have to start the humira after otherwise it ll be due out it out there.

Re SO think u usually have one scan unless it too early and then u might have to go again.

Tryingno1 · 04/03/2015 11:27

Sorry hula! What an insensitive post from me !

I'm sorry it was bfn..hope ur ok..it never gets easier does it? Pants! Lets hope once u take this plunge it will happen quickly for u. Mr s does know wot he's talking about, so I'm going to be a good patient like u from now on!

.I'm doing the washing and writing and didn't think what I was saying!

Tryingno1 · 04/03/2015 11:25

Hi hula. When u gonna have the humira? I've booked in to see mr s but next appt in Harley st is end of April! Epsom is a right pain to get to....to be fair it will give me another cycle of trying naturally before I decide wot to do...I wonder if he would suggest retesting my nk/tnf?! Unlikely?

Hula2 · 04/03/2015 10:57

Welcome lillies. Congrats on bfp and encouraging to hear its already worked once, keeping everything crossed for this LO.

Bfn for me too. Better get the Humira ordered...

Tryingno1 · 04/03/2015 10:42

Hi lillies - welcome. Congrats on ur bfp and fingers crossed his plan works for u again! I'm sure it will :) hope ur finding the pred ok! Xxx

Lilliesandchocolate · 04/03/2015 09:46

Hi, I don't know if anyone will remember me? I was hopefulfor3rd but lost all my details to keep logging in - finally got around to sorting it!
Just in case-
1 x mc,
Had my 1st child,
Then 5 mc and I found Mr S and started treatment and fell pregnant first attempt and had our 2nd child. Was on high NK treatment plan.
I've been following the threads all along, keeping up to date. Think last time I posted I was off to see Mr S. I found out my levels had gone up to complex NK. Saw him in May last year, ttc most of the year but had a much needed break in November/dec, restarted acupuncture in December and got a positive test a couple of weeks ago.
Had to go straight up to Wimbledon for first lot of intripalids, and now on the waiting game to see what happens.
This thread has been a constant support to me xxx

Tryingno1 · 04/03/2015 09:01

Ps can I ask with SO how many scans do u need? I'm starting to think a little more about it...

Tryingno1 · 04/03/2015 08:59

Morning guys. Did a test and its negative as expected :(
I'm going to be a good patient and take the pred next month, I seem to be doing one month on one month off at the moment.
Hope everyone else is good x

Rosa27 · 03/03/2015 19:12

Thanks Sunny.. May start that as easier.

sunnyday01 · 03/03/2015 06:02

I take all mine in the morning except asprin which I take with my tea

Rosa27 · 02/03/2015 21:58

Sorry, one more quick q been meaning to ask for months.. Is it ok to take all vits and drugs in the morning after breakfast? Apart from levothyroxine before?

Tryingno1 · 02/03/2015 21:20

I know rosa - I think I keep objectivity forOthers but in my situation it goes out of window and I start thinking all sorts! And ur not a decade Older! Grin

I like ur attitude! And u r right-being positive makes such a diff but its so hard sometimes. I think im postive 70 percent of the time, the rest of the time I get overwhelmed with it all and cry (a lot!). But I suppose that's normal!

Here's to 2015!

Rosa27 · 02/03/2015 20:13

Thanks Sunny. I'm on 5 but to go to 7.5 from next month. Just hope it makes sense at my age to do this and not go straight to IVF. How you doing now?
Trying - thanks for the advice.. I will chat to Mr S about it next time and in the meantime try get tests ticked off as you say. I don't understand why you think my situation is more hopeful than yours though.. Sounds like we've exactly the same background except I'm about a decade older Hmm
Anyway .. Let's hope Spring is a fertile season for us all. Still time to have Christmas babies.. Smile
So hard to imagine it after spending so long having hopes taken away it's too easy to feel pessimistic.. But I'm going to be the one reminding us all (and myself!) that R&R and positive visualisation can sometimes get amazing miraculous results on their own.. So if we focus on that plus following the medical advice it surely should just be a small matter of time (please this year!) x

sunnyday01 · 02/03/2015 19:25

Also you should give SO 6 go's as it generally happens on round 4-6 if it's going to happen - as the medication builds up in your system etc. I wouldn't quit after 3.

Just popping in as been a manic day - dint worry too much rosa as it only takes one egg! But trying us right - the first couple if months is often getting the dosage right - are you on 5mg?

Hi rosa. Well basically in my area CARE are the private and nhs providers for ivf (which is great as they are a decent clinic). The consultant I saw who did my HSG wrote at the end that if I didn't concieve in 2/3 months I should go for ivf. So I just flashed that infront of my Gp! To be honest I don't think I meet the NHS criteria, as its 2 years if no reason (unexplained infertility) and anytime if there is a reason (I don't have a reason for why it's not happening except maybe a small adhesion that might be delaying things slightly). Anyways my Gp didn't really read the letter properly and referred me! But if I get turned down at a funding stage I'll just pay for it privately when I'm ready to that the step. I just wanted the ball to be rolling as it can take months before all the paperwork and bloods are done...at least I'm in the door and can deal with the rules at some point!

I'm not sure what the rules are for ivf for over 35...as in when u can be referred if its unexplained...but u prob have had all tests done except the HSG and sperm test-ur entitied to them on the nhs as u have been trying for 6 Months. (Under 35 you only get them if trying for 1 year). So might be a good idea for ur gp to do those for u? Then u know everything is workin fine and it wil just happen/if its unexplained infertility at some Point u have the tests in hand and can go for ivf if its needed.

It sounds silly, but u will get preg and u prob don't need those tests. The reason I say it sounds silly is that I still had them but when I look at ur situation I feel more hopeful than when I look at mine!! Haha!

People say it takes a few months of SO to get the right dose so hopefully next month there will be a couple of eggs ready to pop!

Fsh of 6 is great! Mine is 6 too...(not that I've managed to get preg again but I've been told its totally normal)

Rosa27 · 02/03/2015 16:17

*got .. Jeez I need to read back before I post! Blush

Rosa27 · 02/03/2015 16:16

Trying - no just the one, and didn't see DH until over 24hrs after the injection so not gut high hopes. Next month he's asked me to increase my dose so should get more follicles. Also was told had a good ovarian reserve and FSH was only just above 6 so reasons to not give up hope...
What do you need to do for IVF .. Is that too big a Q for here and one for my GP? X

Tryingno1 · 02/03/2015 09:44

Oh hula. Like rosa said so hard trying to search for an answer. Must have be devastating to get preg so quickly (after u were prob expecting it to take forever) and then loose it. It wasn't that long ago, so u will get preg again. We just all have to keep plodding along...our time will come one day!

I felt the same about ivf hula- figured I should get everything ready tests etc so when in ready I can go for it. I'm thinking of waiting till may/June which will have been 11 months of trying...

Rosa did u have a few follicles ready to pop?!

I'm shattered after the hen! I'm obviously getting on a bit!

Rosa27 · 02/03/2015 09:32

Hi all - it is so hard no knowing why things worked/ didn't work - especially now we're all desperately trying to piece together something that works for us. As the random genetic factor will always be there, I guess it will always be hard. So many miracle stories happen when people think it's over though- there must be something in that (the mind relaxing, the body relaxing).
Thanks for insomnia tips. So skint but think will try with accu again too. Easier than exercise ;) but yes should try that also, even if just a long walk - and the relaxation techniques.
Hope it's a good week for everyone x
