Hi ladies can anyone shed any advice on what's happening with my body and if going through or been through the same? Sorry if long winded.

My last period was 23 December, I've been using an app on my phone to track my periods as I'm terrible at remembering when I'm roughly due. They're always heavy and last 5-8 days and roughly 26-30 day cycles. My period should have been due around 20th Jan, normally I've eaten my body weight in chocolate and can't even stomach it! Had on and off aches across lower abdomen but didn't feel like AF pains and then 2 days of spotting which was very pink. This stopped and my partner and I did the deed again which felt more sensitive than normal and a day after had very slight brown spotting only when wiping. I get waves of tiredness, my tummy is still slightly swollen from when AF should have visited, still on and off dull aches in lower abdomen and it feels like twinges and stretching sensation where my c-section scar is (that scar was 4 years ago and never had problems with it). My belly and chest look like a road map of blue veins, waves of tiredness and I'm having to eat little and often because I'm so full so quickly. I've had a urine test at GP which came back negative and actually was sick that morning which is odd for me, have taken HPT and negative. Any ideas what could be going on? I'm not stressed, no change to diet apart from food adiversions and no extreme weight loss/gain or exercise.

Thanks xx

Wow, I can't believe I found a thread with my same situation!

Hubby and I have been TTC for 3 years now. We just finished with the fertility clinic when they told us the NHS wouldn't fund IVF (I will be 42 next month). On Christmas Day AF paid a visit. I was devastated as I really thought that would be our month.

Due to injury and illness...we missed the timing in January completely (completely!) so I wasn't really thinking about anything. However, early last week it dawned on me that AF hadn't come calling. I took a HPT (negative). About a week later, did another (negative). I then realised that the test was out of date. Brought home a new test and did that this morning (negative).

I usually run about 21-24 days for a cycle. Thinking back the bleeding at Christmas was very light. My mind is now going through all sorts of possibilities and won't turn off. Really the only way I could be pregnant would be if the Christmas bleeding was actually implantation bleeding but that would but me at about 9 weeks with negative HPT.

I've booked a GP appointment for next week but I'm really edgy. I don't really have any traditional symptoms other than fatigue and a bit of lightheadedness. I have been incredibly short of breath though but I had put that down to the lurgy I had in January.

Just wanted to add my 2p here and get a bit of support from those going through the same thing as me!

Thanks for reading :) xxx

Justcallmebridget - thank you for your advice and I do really appreciate it :) the thought had crossed my mind as I did read something online about it. Don't worry I'm not panicking. Just venting as I think it's wrong as I know my body and something doesn't feel right. It amazes me how doctors are reluctant to run any sort of tests knowing other conditions that could be linked causing these symptoms. It's a shame routines aren't given as standard especially if you notice any changes or are ttc.

Cuppasarah it is annoying being in limbo! I do hope you get your bfp hun. Its strange what our bodie do to us. Years ago I used to be irregular where I bled majority of the month without much of a break, I've never had a light one unless I was on the pill and I've been off that for over a year as I've yet to find on that agrees with me.

Thanks ladies :) xxx

Hi Kelly. I am in the exact same boat as you. Even my last period was the same day. Went to the drs today as I've been ttc with irregular periods for a while. Got blood tests booked for a months time and had yet another negative hpt. It's the worst of both worlds isn't it? I just want that bfp or AF so I can focus on next cycle.

I don't wish to worry you Kelly but you should go back as a matter of urgency. Your symptoms tie in with ovarian cancer - also known as the silent killer because you don't know anything is wrong until it's too late.
I dithered about whether to post this because I don't want to panic you, but in the end I thought that maybe if it was useful information.... I hope you don't mind. I hope I haven't done the wrong thing. It's just something to rule out anyway Smile

Yes I did, she told me to ignore it and take no notice of the dull pains ive had for 2 weeks. I wouldn't mind but I hate going to the doctors anyway so don't go that often. I might just wait another 2 weeks and see if no improvement or gets worse I'll be more pushier to get something looked in to x

Did you tell your GP your symptoms?

KellyC88 · 05/02/2015 09:23

Thank you, I saw my GP yesterday and they've told me I need to wait another month and if miss a second period they'll then do a blood test. Is it common to wait that long? Sorry haven't been in this situation before and feel my GP isn't taking me seriously x

ask your GP for a blood test. If that's a bfn too, maybe a scan is in order to rule out any issues. Good luck x
