Does this sound like a chemical pregnancy?..

So I got positive OPK on days CD 17/18 and got busy both of these days. That is quite late for ovulation for me, though I am still BF and cycles all over the place. They have been between 24 and 27 days last few months, though there was one which was 31 days which is the longest it has ever been. Luteal phase has generally been around10/11 days.

Yesterday (CD 30) I took a test with a FRER, and got a faint but definite positive. Today (CD 31) I jsut took another FRER and got nothing (I don't think - there was a mega faint line I could barely see but I think just evaporation line).

I have been feeling sick literally since a couple of days after ovulation (I posted about that on here - it seemed insane) but I sort of put it down to being in my head. But I still feel nauseous. In fact worse today. I had awful morning sickness until week 20 with both of them (worse with second).

So far no period. I have had some mild cramps / pains last few days, which sometimes I get before a period, sometimes not. I also had them during early pregnancy with both of my sons. With my first son I didn't get a positive test until the day of my missed period. With my second I got a positive test at 8 DPO (!).

If I was pregnant wouldn't I be getting a proper positive by now? I guess I could be 13 DPO which maybe isn't that much. But the +ve yesterday threw me.

This would be potential pregnancy and baby #3 for me. So I should know better than to be writing this sort of nonsense...

Seems like it could have been a chemical pregnancy Stop as you did get what looked like a faint line on some of your tests. The same thing happened to me and I got pregnant very shortly thereafter, hopefully that will happen to you too.

stopeatingbiscuits · 22/01/2015 21:12

Period arrived today - better luck next month I hope!

I hope it is over soon! Are you trying again next cycle?

Still nothing here. Hmm

AF is here, I'm thankful I didn't have too long to wait. It does seem more painful than usual but not unmanageable.

stopeatingbiscuits · 20/01/2015 22:30

I feel fine. Well, not much change. Still feeling pretty nauseous. Yesterday had some mild cramps (though have had on and off for a while) and was expecting period today but nothing yet. Am also flying to Ireland for a work client event tomorrow, just for a night, which could really do without as no doubt period will arrive then with a vengeance.

Ugh, probably. I'm only a couple of days late. Back is aching though which could be related to AF. Having a (massive) glass of wine which is helping.

How are you feeling?

In future I'm not going to test until I'm a good week overdue!

stopeatingbiscuits · 20/01/2015 19:26

Am so sorry you got a negative test.

How late is your period now? Does all this mean when our periods come they're going to be mega heavy? :-(

I reckon mine is a chemical pregnancy, I felt sick, exhausted, had bleeding gums and stuffy nose for 4-5 days but it started to go yesterday and today I feel pretty normal. I just hope my period comes soon and it doesn't bugger up my cycle too much.

Jbop · 20/01/2015 19:00

Hi stopeatingbiscuits I did a test at lunch and got a BFN too, sorry you did as well. Feeling pretty disappointed after the positives I got. Still no AF.

stopeatingbiscuits · 20/01/2015 18:53

So I did another test just now - big fat nothing. So odd! I guess this is just a freakishly long cycle, have never had one this long before. Hope period turns up soon. And that next cycle is normal!

Hey - so I did one this morning at about 6am and was super mega faint line again. Could barely see it. I am going to do another one when I get home tonight (mental I know).

Yes Number3, just all a bit weird - would have thought a line 13 DPO would be stronger? I don't know. Will see when I get home in an hour or so.

Just expecting period as sort of thought faint line at this stage means no-go. But I am massively curious as to what is actually going on in there!

If there is a faint line then it's still positive. Presumably you are worried that because it's faint it won't be successful? Hold off and test Saturday morning. Should be undoubtable then

Number3cometome · 20/01/2015 12:21

stopeatingbiscuit Why would you expect a period if you got a faint line?
Post a pic.

Nevlet · 20/01/2015 11:04

Is there a picture from this morning?

stopeatingbiscuits · 20/01/2015 11:00

So I did another one at about 6am and there was a super mega faint line. I seem to get stronger lines later in the day if last two days anything to go by. Maybe I'll do another one in a bit.

I am expecting period to come - though it is now later than it has ever been before - as surely at 13 DPO I should be testing positive?

What happened!!

chasingtherainbow · 19/01/2015 21:30

Stick to fmu if you can, if they're this faint it must be early so fmu will give you strongest lines x

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:24

Good point about them being invalid after 10 mins...

OP posts:
Schoolaroundthecorner · 19/01/2015 21:23

I can definitely see a line on the top one, think I see a line on the middle one but can't see anything on the bottom one. I think you should test again in the morning but I'd be hopeful you'd see a stronger line then.

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:22

The one yesterday was done at about midday, but after not having a wee for at least 4 hours. The one today which I did in the loos at work was at about 1:30, and the last one at about 6:45. Both after no wee for 3/4 hours.

Weird?

OP posts:
stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:20

PS Number3 I will certainly be doing one in the morning!

Thank goodness Boots are doing 3 for 2 on FR tests.... Confused

OP posts:
Jbop · 19/01/2015 21:19

Did you take the test yesterday in the morning when your wee is stronger?

I think I can see a line on all of them??

Obviously after 10 mins the results become invalid anyway.

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:18

Not sure how well that pic comes up on other people's phones but is blurry on mine - on my camera roll on my phone I can see the (faint) lines.

OP posts:
stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:15

So here is a pic - top test is the one from yesterday (30 DPO). Middle one is the one from today at lunchtime, and bottom one is from this evening.

Does it make any difference how long between wees?!

Does this sound like a chemical pregnancy?..
