Can't see the picture op as using the app, but just wanted to say good luck and I hope the result is what you wanted.

onthematleavecountdown · 27/12/2014 10:57

Buy a decent brand if you want to test early!

MincePionaMumsnet · 27/12/2014 10:44

Morning all! OP - hope you don't mind but we think this thread would probably be happier sitting over in Conception. We're going to move it in a moment. Best of luck! Hope you get the result you want.

Well a bunfight over a pregnancy test. Who would have thought?

Miss I would say it's a negative, hope you are ok.

sarkymare · 27/12/2014 09:42

And I've continued to post (on the phone app now can't see the picture) because I don't think it's right that people's 'sensitivities' or whatever you want to call them have been minimised simply because this a parenting site.

You should bare in mind that for a lot of people that have lost babies, Christmas time can be a very difficult time. Minimising their feelings doesn't really help that does it?

sarkymare · 27/12/2014 09:33

I don't watch adverts on tv, or read papers and I don't look hard enough on the medication shelves to see a pregnancy test.

And that's not the point though is it? As i have said numerous times now, my issue isn't with her discussing pregnancy or even posting a photo of her test. All I wanted was some sort of description in the title.

"AIBU to ask what you think of this PT"

"AIBU to ask if you think this test is positive"

"AIBU to see a positive line on this test?"

I'm hardly asking for the world on a plate am I?

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 27/12/2014 09:19

You're spending a lot of time on a thread you don't want to see...

sarkymare · 27/12/2014 09:14

Pregnancy is not the main subject on mumsnet and it certainly isn't on AIBU of all places.

Personally I think MIL threads feature more than pregnancy one.

sarkymare · 27/12/2014 09:12

Strangely enough you don't often have photos of or actual pregnancy tests shoved in your face in everyday life.

As I stated with my first comment not a warning as such but an indication in your title would have been nice

No matter what the subject, sensitive or not. There should be a very brief description of what the threads about so people can choose whether they want to read it or not. It's what the subject line is for! It's not an unreasonable request.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 27/12/2014 09:09

I'm sure there has been pictures of pregnancy tests on the homepage at some point.

Adverts on tv, papers, on the shelves...

elephantspoo · 27/12/2014 08:55

I can see it. It's called a hope line.

IBrokeTheInternetB4itWasCool · 27/12/2014 08:25

Wow some people have really pissed on OP's parade. :( If you're on mumsnet (or any other parenting website), you ARE going to see a pregnancy test at some point. It's just impossible to cater for everyone's specific sensitivities, especially when they relate to the main subject of the website! Don't feel bad OP. I hope you get your bfp this morning, please let us know!

TooOldForGlitter · 27/12/2014 00:40

How do people function in every day life if every single little thing needs a 'warning'?

MissBattleaxe · 27/12/2014 00:32

Indeed. The subject line should have said "AIBU t think this is a faint line on my pregnancy test?"

That way, people know whether or not they want to click on it or not.

Bunnyjo · 26/12/2014 23:30

I think it's negative and what you are seeing is the contrast between the run on the strip and where the positive line would ordinarily be.

I second third, fourth and twentieth the advice to retest in a few days' time with FMU, if you have not had a period.

bloodyteenagers · 26/12/2014 23:18

No but I can see a rose. On the C end Confused

sarkymare · 26/12/2014 22:55

It's a bit hard not to be surprised in this specific case don't you think? The thread had no subject line. How could the contents have been anything but a surprise?
Besides, my issue isn't with her discussing pregnancy FFS. It's the fact that she didn't mention this at all in her thread title. The Opening post is so short the whole thing could have been included in the title.

Coumarin · 26/12/2014 22:53

It's not the general subject of pregnancy though it's a picture of a pregnancy testing stick. I avoid poas threads as yes there have been times I'd find them upsetting.

Plus I think they're unnecessary and attention seeking a bit ridiculous. There's a whole section on here for them if you feel the need.

That said. I hope it changes to a positive when you take another, if that's what you want. First pee of the day in another 2-3 days. Good luck.

pictish · 26/12/2014 22:53

That's good to know sarky - I wouldn't take it away from you for a second.
But there are other people here too.

sarkymare · 26/12/2014 22:50

Btw OP I didn't mean to guilt trip you. That honestly was not my intention and I apologise if I have.

You really should try to put your threads in the correct topic though. Or at the very least write something indicative in your subject line so people know, if they wish, not to open it.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 26/12/2014 22:45

Don't avoid parenting sites, just don't be surprised when the topic of pregnancy comes up.

sarkymare · 26/12/2014 22:43

ODFOD

I would expect threads like this over in pregnancy. You know the topic specifically created for threads about pregnancy.

What I don't expect is to find it in AIBU without any indication about what the threads about until I've already opened it.

I will not be avoiding parenting sites thank you very much. I have found some great support on here and in fact, the only reason I've coped with all this as well as I have is because I'm in regular contact with some fantastic supportive ladies via PM.

Fanfeckintastic · 26/12/2014 22:40

I'm also with pictish, not fair at all to guilt trip people over something so innocent!

My sincere condolences to the parents obviously
