Well as the title says :) I've chosen the worst time to get my act together and start my diet (again!!) I'm well overweight, in fact in classed as obese so I need to lose a tonne of weight. I know I need to be a healthy weight to conceive so there isn't much more of a motivator than the hope if a BFP :) I'm just counting calories until Christmas Eve (when we have our traditional Xmas eve meal of good old McDonalds!) and then back on track on the 27th when I will be returning to Slimming World.
If anyone fancies joining me, or even just to give me a kick up the arse, feel free :)

Gosh, sounds hard to stick to! I need my pasta and rice because of the distinct lack of bread. I can't get rid of them too!

Poochieblue · 12/01/2015 13:13

honey SP is the new plan on SW they've brought out this time around, did you ever hear of success express? its like a new version of that, i.e. meant to kick start the weight loss. It's only meant to be done for a week at a time and it's not for diabetics, people with long term kidney problems or pregnant ladies - so i wanted to do it 1st week in the vane hope just in case i get a bfp.

Basically, you have one A choice, 2 B choices, and then everything else you can only eat anything that's marked up S for speed or P for protein. Basically no carbs or things like bananas, grapes, sweet potatoes. you still get your daily syns as well. It's really easy for a day or 2 and then it gets quite difficult. Not sure i will make the entire week. Am already sick of mushy pea curry and soup! lol!

honeysucklejasmine · 12/01/2015 12:17

Don't worry Notso, myself and Spam are both here for the long haul too. I noticed by boots did up a smidge easier, but don't think that's related to much really. I'll notice eventually.

notsoold · 12/01/2015 12:10

Well I have a awful lot of weight to lose so it didn't even show on my clothing.... still I am chuffed!!Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 12/01/2015 11:51

Welcome Notso! That is an incredible result, well done!

notsoold · 12/01/2015 11:45

Please may I join you??? It will be a distraction for ttc and after a mc ( sorry for your losses) I need a distraction.
I started last Wednesday and was retaining a lot of water I think... that explains the loss ( but I am really happy and not complaining....8lbs 9 ozs !
I am 43 so will be slow loss from now on I think

honeysucklejasmine · 12/01/2015 08:40

Congratulations MrsG! That's a great start!

Isn't it awful how common mc are? Why don't people talk about them? I found it so helpful to talk to others after mine.

So, due to the witch arriving (usually retain at least 2lbs when she is present) i am on -11lbs. Which is great but was hoping for more, got to11.25 during the week but stagnated then increased again. Hopefully it will fall off when the red witch fucks off. But hey, -11lbs... I'll take that! Grin

ninjabeer · 12/01/2015 07:45

Wow. Well done mrsgingerbread 6lbs is a brilliant start. Whoop!

MrsGingerbread · 12/01/2015 06:25

Wooo! 6lbs lost for me, I'm very happy with that in my first week. :)

pocopearl · 12/01/2015 04:21

I was due to test on 14th but think I'm out as tested yesterday and no sign. This was going to be our last month TTC, so I feel a bit of a fraud still here but hopefully a happy accident might happen.

MrsGingerbread · 12/01/2015 03:50

Up early today, also weigh-in day for me, so I'll post my stats later. :)

I'm on cycle 11 - with early miscarriages on cycles 3 and 4. We are actually a lot more relaxed about ttc than we were initially and I've been taking b6 to try and sort out my short luteal phase - so going that those things - along with my new health kick, obviously - both help. :)

Anyone due to test soon?

Orangeisthenewbanana · 11/01/2015 22:39

Sorry for your mc honey

Cycle 5 here, though I tend to have around 35 day cycles and they have been up to 6 weeks, so have been trying since last July. We fell pregnant with DD in 6 weeks, so I've found it hard this time round with it not happening as quickly as we'd have liked Sad. A lot of the mums I met after having DD have either just had their DC2, or are due in the next few months, which makes me even more impatient, even though I know in the scheme of things, 5 cycles is really not that unusual.

Hoping the weight loss drive will help me focus on something other than ttc!

honeysucklejasmine · 11/01/2015 21:43

I am going to be on CD1 of C#7 tomorrow. I had a mc after cycle 1 so I am super impatient to get preg again. I think if I hadn't got preg in the first place it would be easier to be relaxed. I was only four weeks behind my friend, who is now 26 weeks preg, so its quite hard as a big round reminder of what I should have. She tried for 18 months though so I don't hold it against her. Just sad we can't do it together.

21questions · 11/01/2015 19:28

I find Sunday hard to stay on track because I'm not very busy I think I just feel like eating for something to do.

How long has everybody been ttc. I am on cycle 8 didn't think it would take this long even though I know they say to expect upto 2 years.

honeysucklejasmine · 11/01/2015 17:41

Going to have a jar sauce curry tonight. Normally wouldn't dream but cooked it for a friend yesterday and itwwas so yummy smelling. Its only 166 cals for a portion of sauce though, so think i'll get away with it.

Resisted the naan and chutney though so that's a success! Grin

AF coming tomorrow so will prob find scales haven't moved much this week, but could be a big drop next week, fingers crossed!

spamanderson · 11/01/2015 12:18

I'm having SW chips with chicken & salad for lunch :) my body is so screwed up from having an eating disorder in my early teens, my metabolism is shot. Hardly eaten over the last 2 days but did have chip yesterday (oven chips) and have 'gained' 3lbs :/

honeysucklejasmine · 11/01/2015 12:01

Cut potatoes in to chips and parboil for 5 minutes. Spread out on a baking tray, spray with fry light and bake for approx 30 minutes, shaking tray occasionally.

MindfulBear · 11/01/2015 09:23

what are SW chips? I am intrigued....

honeysucklejasmine · 11/01/2015 08:46

Hmm *throw

*which i

honeysucklejasmine · 11/01/2015 08:44

What's the SP plan Poochie?

Don't worry Kez, just cut back another day.

My old sw consultant used to say "you wouldn't grow out the whole bouquet over one dead flower" whichi like.

Poochieblue · 10/01/2015 21:41

it will even out eventually if you compensate kez I always save a few syns for a good treat/few vodkas most weeks, as long as I don't go over the weekly allowance the weight still comes off and I don't feel deprived!
Day 2 on the new SP SW plan. going well but sooooo glad it can only be done for a week at a time! will be glad to get a few EE days in there next week! x

kezaroo · 10/01/2015 21:08
