Well as the title says :) I've chosen the worst time to get my act together and start my diet (again!!) I'm well overweight, in fact in classed as obese so I need to lose a tonne of weight. I know I need to be a healthy weight to conceive so there isn't much more of a motivator than the hope if a BFP :) I'm just counting calories until Christmas Eve (when we have our traditional Xmas eve meal of good old McDonalds!) and then back on track on the 27th when I will be returning to Slimming World.
If anyone fancies joining me, or even just to give me a kick up the arse, feel free :)

Wow your all doing so well. I'm dreading weigh in on thurs

kezaroo · 06/01/2015 19:56

Evenin' all!

Well I've been using my fitness pal and actually sticking to it! Had s cheeky sneak in the scales last night and I have lost 5lb so far! Hope it stays off for Thursday as I won't be updating my fitness pal with my weight until then.

Hope everyone else is doing well?

honeysucklejasmine · 06/01/2015 18:28

Welcome Field! That's great that you have something which will work for you. Just remember not to fast once you're preggo!

fieldfare · 06/01/2015 16:28

Thanks, yep I've made a big jug of lemon and mint water to keep in the fridge which is a reminder as well as having loads of cups of herbal tea.
I think I'll end up doing 4:3, as have such a lot to lose. 6st 4lb to get me to my 'ideal weight'. First target is 1st 4 lb though.

Well done on the exercise! I've got to plan my time more effectively as my work hours have increased recently and I'm not overly keen on going to the gym in the evening.

jellypi3 · 06/01/2015 15:29

Welcome Field. I loved the 5:2 but stopped whilst trying because I had a few dodgy periods on it. Remember to drink lots of water! That will prevent headaches!!

Beanbag41 · 06/01/2015 15:27

Hi fieldfare

Gym yesterday and Zumba today. My body doesn't know what's hit it...... Day off tomorrow I think ;)

fieldfare · 06/01/2015 15:02

May I join in too please?
I'm currently at my heaviest ever which is obv not going to help us conceive.
Am planning on fasting 5:2, today being my first fast day. Not going so badly.

jellypi3 · 06/01/2015 14:47

Ok...ouch........

jellypi3 · 06/01/2015 14:01

i'm about to do my next 30ds! Wish me luck!!

honeysucklejasmine · 06/01/2015 13:55

Making some homemade ketchup atm. If it turns out nice I'll post the recipe.

honeysucklejasmine · 06/01/2015 11:57

Wow, I'm glad you've been able to work quickly Laura, that's always going to help. Fingers crossed for a bfp soon!

Welcome ninja! I hope your DH coped with the boot camp.

ninjabeer · 05/01/2015 22:17

Hello all can I pop onto this thread. I'm back on the 5.2 diet today after gaining 8lb over Christmas. Boot Camp with DH in the morning which he will hate. Ho hum. The things that we do for a BFP!

Lauraqc · 05/01/2015 22:11

Ah Honey the shortish version is that I came off the pill in Aug 13, had a normal withdrawal bleed then a proper af in Oct, so far so good. Then in Dec 13 I had a month long af til Jan 14 then....nothing til July 14 (which I strongly believe was linked to me starting low GI diet) then another 3 weeks later in Aug 14....and then now. I've only felt myself ov twice - that was in July 14 and on 24.12.14. In amongst that DH has had one test which was the low count one, then another that the hospital lost (so we've no idea if it was better or worse) and he's got another to do on Wednesday ready for our fertility appt with the consultant in Feb. I'd had a scan and various blood tests too. We paid and went private to speed things up which is where I was diag'd with PCOS (and immediately put on metformin) and DH with possible major problems too. I'm hoping we'll get a bit more clarity about treatment in Feb once I've lost a bit of weight...!

honeysucklejasmine · 05/01/2015 21:59

Thanks ladies, i am so chuffed. Especially as i was carrying a bag of two 2 litre bottles and thinking how heavy they were... That's how much less i weigh! Smile

Treated myself to sushi very naughty as in the tww and it was great. In theory pretty low syn anyway, but still felt like a luxury! Avoided all the supermarket sandwiches which were a weakness.
Also went food shopping today and very pleased with the price... About £30 for a weeks of dinners for two ain't half bad!

Oh no Laura! I daresay you are being very sensible. How did you find out about your problems? Have you been ttc long?

Lauraqc · 05/01/2015 19:26

Amazing Honey well done! I usually weigh in on a Friday with WW online which I've found in the past has worked for me as I like tracking what I've eaten! I'm desperately trying not to weigh at any other time because I think in my head I get a 'carte blanche' when I'm lighter than expected and I beat myself up mentally if I'm heavier which clearly is no good!

Honey I forgot to answer you the other day (sorry!) - we went to see the consultant who told us that between me barely ov'ing and DH's abnormally low count (around 1 million) we're unlikely to conceive naturally. I know there are always exceptions but I'm using it as fuel to lose weight so we can start treatment asap. As I've mentioned my last af was August 2014 and so we've only really had 2 real shots at getting pg in over a year because of it...and i'm pretty sure my weight is affecting my body's ability to ov :(

Well done honey, great start for you Smile

MrsGingerbread · 05/01/2015 13:31

Hello ladies,

Can I please join you? My healthy eating kick starts today and I mean business. :)

I'm not joining anything, just old fashioned calorie counting. I have also negotiated with dh that if I have been good for a day then I get to choose what we watch on tv that evening. :)

Good luck everyone. :)

McFunky · 05/01/2015 12:32

Thanks orange.

Well done honey!! That's amazing.

I weighed in this morning and I have gained...10lbs! That's from November but even still, it's shocking. I'm even more determined to lose now!

Hope everyone is doing well today :)

OkyDoke · 05/01/2015 11:08

How's everyone doing? I've been back on plan (S/W) since Friday and dreading weigh in on Thurs! I really hope I've pulled it back to a small gain or maintain!

spamanderson · 05/01/2015 10:55

Oooh you're not too dissimilar to me then honey. From the start I had 96lbs to lose :( this is the biggest I have ever been. I was 9lbs lighter than my start weight when I went in to have dd1 :/ I'm hoping I can lose a little during pregnancy, obviously I'm not going to be able to lose as much as I'd like as I gained just over 3 stone, and just under 3 stone with my pregnancies. As long as I don't get any bigger than this, I'll be happy! Least SW is one of those 'diets' that isn't really a diet so you don't miss out on anything :)
Here's a picture of my plan on the laptop. Stock cubes and fry light etc are free :)

My BMI is just under 30, to get to a healthy BMI I need to loose about 3st (or roughly 20kg). I did the fast diet and lost 6 pound in a week but whilst TTC I think I will give that a miss!

honeysucklejasmine · 05/01/2015 10:40

Oooh syn free? Brilliant! When I was a member even stock cubes were syns and I know they changed that too. Brilliant!

Spam I need to lose 110lbs! 7st 11lbs! Still, almost 9 down, I'll be in double digits this time next week hopefully! Smile

jellypi3 · 05/01/2015 10:26

mmm sounds nice. Might do that today! My work canteen always has jacket potatos and beans, £1.50!!!

spamanderson · 05/01/2015 10:16

Wow well done honeysuckle
I'm very heavy too so weight comes off pretty quick at first which is a great motivator :) I've lost 3lbs since I weighed on the 2nd :) How much do you have to lose honey? I struggle with portion size too, hDH and I are both big, thankfully our dds aren't the same! Dd1 is perfect, dd2 is a right skinny minny! We eat good food but we eat far too much of it :/ carbs are my biggest downfall :(oh in my online things, fry light was still syn free so I'm going by that ;) my freezer us chocca with quorn sausages, I prefer them yl normal sausages so that's one plus fir me at least ha ha!
Yep jelly jacket with beans is free, then you could use cheese as a healthy extra if you wanted it or add it as Syns :) I had a massive plate of sakad, a jacket & baked beans, drenched it in balsamic vinegar and it's all deliciously free :D

honeysucklejasmine · 05/01/2015 09:58

Yeah of course! That's why it is so easy to do. You just can't put butter on the potato, and if you put cheese on it is only a small amount you are allowed.
