Congratulations Lulu! I'm so pleased for you. What a lovely birth and you were already 6cm's when you went in, over half way already done.

Well done to both of you and can't wait to hear how you get on

Ducky23 · 30/12/2014 18:00

Ooohh and you get to see in the new year with your new baby Smile

21questions · 30/12/2014 17:53

Lulu wow massive congratulations to you and dh I can't believe he is here. He sounds perfect and glad you had a good birth experience. Smile Congratulations again you must be so happy.

Ducky23 · 30/12/2014 17:46

That's ace lulu Smile how many weeks were you in the end? Was it 39?

Wonderful news Smile glad it wasn't too bad for you either. Did you settle on a name?

Speaking of bleeding I thought it was all over, it had stopped for 2 days but started again today Hmm booo!

LuluJakey1 · 30/12/2014 17:08

Thanks everyone. It was all a bit unexpected- and yes you were right about the backache. Grin
DH went to sleep but I could not settle and I was just freezing. In the end I got up and went in the shower to try to warm up and direct some hot water on my back to see if that would ease it. DH heard me and came in to the bahroom to see what I was doing. I got out of the shower and my waters broke- all over the floor and his feet. Grin I got back in the shower and he cleaned up- he was panicing a bit by then and giving me stupid instructions which were making me laugh.
We stayed at home for a while but the pains were quite close together and getting stronger so we rang the hospital and they said to come in. DH drove at about 20 miles an hour because of the icy roads! Got here about 5.00 am and was 6 cm. I walked around a lot- couldn't bear lying down. It was really painful at times but managed with just gas and air and breathing. DH was fab, absolutely a rock when I got exhausted. He just kept me going. Got a bit much at the end and I did swear at him apparently and told him we are never ever having sex again and the whole thing was his fault and if my fanjo fell out I would hold him personally responsible Confused no idea at all what I was saying The midwife was wonderful. She kept me calm and focussed and I really trusted her.
Then DH was saying 'I can see him. He's got loads of dark hair Lu, loads of it. ' and suddenly we were holding DS and we were both crying and DS was the only person who was composed.
Tiny tear, no stitches- hurrah!

He is the sweetest, most beautiful little boy. He has been really quiet and content and very settled. Has fed well. We have both given him bottles and both changed nappies. He has had his check up and been pronounced absolutely fine. I can't quite believe he is here.

We were not going to have any visitors but once he was here we just want PIL to share this and see him today. They are so excited about him. DH rang them and they have got the train up and should be here soon. They are going straight back tonight but they both cried when he rang them and said.

I feel very very emotional. I can't stop looking at him. He is so tiny and perfect. We are probably going home tomorrow. DH is staying tonight. The sister said he can as we have a room. We paid for it but it has been so worth it.

When I waddle into the loo, it feels like all my insides are going to fall out. The bleeding isn't as bad as I expected. Hmm

Lulu's DH here. Just to let you all know she has had the baby. He arrived at 10.48am. Weighs 7lb12oz. He has dark hair and blue eyes and is the cutest, most beautiful baby ever, in my unbiased opinion.

The birth was the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. Am in total awe of Lu who was very brave I thought. Midwife described it as 'very straightforward'; well I wouldn't like to be there for one that wasn't in that case. She was very calm (mostly, althought there was a little bit of swearing) and I am just so proud of her and our little boy and so glad I never have to gve birth.

She'll be on later to tell you the details. I promised I would do this. They are both asleep. I am eating sandwiches and drinking tea while I tell people. Thank you for the support you have all given her.

Cupcake92 · 30/12/2014 09:28

Siarie I'm super super prone to UTI's ive get them very easily. I used to take cranberry tablets which actually helped! But stopped them when pg with DS as doc said I couldnt take em while pg. I can't have baths either as that usually brings one on Grin feels a bit better this morning I just drank loads. :) and I had the cranberry juice too siarie ! Smile cranberries are so good!

Siarie · 30/12/2014 07:51

Cupcake I don't know if this is what you have but blood changes the ph balance making it more acidic. Some people have sensitive skin down there and anything acidic or even sometimes spicy food can create the same burning feeling as a UTI.

Try a warm bath, lots of water and cranberry juice. If it doesn't go in 24hrs I'd go with UTI and the doctor.

Cupcake92 · 29/12/2014 22:49

My gosh Bears! That was a quick labour for DM!

Lulu my cat is the same! :) he went out and then came straight back in! Haha Grin too cold for him!

Ducky! That was exactly the same with me!! DS was also back to back! He stayed back to back till I was induced tho and because he was too big I couldn't give birth to him. So that's why I went for csection. Grin

Grrrr I think I've got the start of a uti!!! Sad knew I'd get one! I seem to get them when I have a really heavy AF, or in This case my mc! It's so weird! Don't know whether to go docs for antibiotics or try n drink loads to wash it out Confused

Ducky23 · 29/12/2014 22:37

It wasn't too bad, but I don't think were out the woods yet!

When I was induced wih ds it started for me in my back, it didn't ease unless I lay down, it just ached constantly, turns out it was because ds was back to back. Wink

LuluJakey1 · 29/12/2014 22:20

I am fine. Tucked up in bed, back soothed. But I will keep an eye on it. I am more bothered about keeping warm. It is absolutely arctic here tonight.
The cats peeped across the garden door frame and would not go out at all DH said. Little softies! Grin

Bearsinmotion · 29/12/2014 22:12

Agreed cupcake! My mum was 40+4 with DSis when she phoned her DM to complain about backache. DGM (who ad 5 kids) asked what it was like, and DM said shooting pains that lasted a few minutes and went away but seemed to be getting more frequent. DGM: That's labour sweetheart, go to hospital.

DSis arrived 2 hours later Xmas Grin

Cupcake92 · 29/12/2014 21:24

Keep an eye on things Lulu as an aching back can be a sign of labour also. When I went into labour the first time at 32 weeks it started with a really bad aching back. Then it worse and worse and then my stomach started to hurt and tighten.
Enjoy ur bath and relax :)

LuluJakey1 · 29/12/2014 21:07

I am off to have a bath- my back is really aching tonight. Bath and an early night for me I think.

It is so cold up here. I have said to DH we should leave the heating on all night or the house will be freezing in the morning. The garden thermometer says -5 and everything is covered in frost.

Hope everyone is tucked up warm.

Ducky- hope the poonami is not too bad when it comes.

Cupcake92 · 29/12/2014 19:19

Poonami!!! Oh lulu! That made me laugh!!! Grin I'll be using that word now to describe DS's awful nappies!

Bless him Ducky it'll pass soon. Constipation is so common in babies.

Purple :( I hope u TTC again soon. It's a hard journey Flowers

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 29/12/2014 18:12

Sorry purple Sad

Lulu I hope so Confused I think I spoke too soon because he started screaming and squirming as soon as I posted that Confused

LuluJakey1 · 29/12/2014 18:00

We got ours through a friends who is quite 'high up' at TT. He got it all at a ridiculously cheap price for us so we felt really lucky.

Purple How long have you been TTC? Is this your first? How old are you?
Don't give up. Flowers I am 35 and this is our first. My mum only had me and she was well in her 40s and thought I was the menopause. Smile

Ducky- do you think a poonami is on the way?

Siarie · 29/12/2014 17:49

Ducky! Haha sorry auto corrected Blush

Siarie · 29/12/2014 17:49

Cross posted sucky, yeah that's why we bought it. We paid £60 something? Whereas it is normally over £100 I think. We were going to get it anyway and I grabbed everything in the sales so it's worked out great.

Purplelilly · 29/12/2014 17:48

As some of you know from my earlier posts, this was my last month ttc. AF came today in full force. I was in town and a wave of pain hit me and I couldn't stand, my husband had to basically pick me up and carry me off the road. I don't know if it was due to the level of pain or due to being so upset that it had come, but I ended up having a really horrible panic attack. I feel like a complete idiot for crying in public but really thought I was going to die for a while! Urgh!!

Anyway, it looks like my journey has ended for a while. Thanks to all of you who have chatted to me and made me feel welcome here! I really hope you all get your bfp very soon and everything goes well with your pregnancies.
I'll probably still come on here, but not sure yet if that will make me feel worse :) I've got my husband looking for a new job, there aren't many well paid jobs here but he's going to have a go :)

Baby dust to all!

Siarie · 29/12/2014 17:47

Lulu your DH is so sweet! I kind of hope he's right and tonight is the night.

Good to hear the good reviews for the prep machine, it did all come today. I spent the morning setting everything up and finding space in the kitchen for all the bottles Confused.

Temping is really revealing cupcake, honestly you can tell so much about your body by doing it. I found it really worth while and actually paid for the membership with fertility friend so I could compare charts on the app.
