They didn't tell me how much to give him just to feed on demand :-/

I was thinking that cupcake, will see what the HV says tomorrow. I have to call and update them Smile

LuluJakey1 · 08/01/2015 22:19

Well Cupcake, that DM article is a typically nasty piece of writing by them. DM readers are never kind to anyone- except I will say in their defence, they always contribute generously to animal welfare causes. But they aren't kind to people! I wouldn't lose sleep over the comments.

Cupcake92 · 08/01/2015 21:47

Ducky can I suggest something?
Have u considered (that's if he doesn't have an intolerance) putting him on hungry baby milk? I did with DS and it worked a treat! Made him sleep longer and he was fuller and more satisfied with the amount of milk he had. So he ended up waiting longer between feeds :)
Hungry milk changed my life for the better! It was the best decision I ever made!

And bless Lulu hopefully he'll be a good boy and sleep rele well tonight for u :)

Oo siarie spd is awful! So painful! :( and Omg that was ur comment!! Aww! :)

That does seem a lot Smile Little glutton! Where is he putting it all? He looks very well on it in his photo though. Wink

He will adapt. He can have more than DS bcause he weighs more. How much did they say to give him?

I am going to have a look at Cupcake's DM article.

Ducky23 · 08/01/2015 21:17

Ds was having 4oz every 1-2 hours, sometimes a bit more Blush then in the night he usually has 60 - 90 ml an hour, he has gained weight fast. BlushBlush

I made him go 3 hours and he wasn't happy at all but I stuck by it. He has another hour and 15 mins until his next feed Confused I just feel so evil!

LuluJakey1 · 08/01/2015 21:04

We've had a right day with lots of little things going wrong - never mind!

Ducky he has 3oz every 3 hours ish. Ends up about 21-24 oz per day. How much is DS having? It is what they told us at the hospital.

He has been awake almost all day, including at the Registrar's. We took him out for tea in town afterwards and he didn't seem to mind at all. He has been asleep about an hour, finally.

DH was very proud at the registrar when she made a big fuss of DS. He insisted on holding him and was telling her about how good he is and how alert he is.

Ducky23 · 08/01/2015 20:20

I had it siarie and it went straight after the birth Smile

Siarie · 08/01/2015 19:28

I think I have SPD, I thought it was ligament but it's not. After reading about SPD it sounds exactly like what I have.

Going to talk to my midwife about it Monday. It's already getting more painful now, it's flaring up without walking these days and I can't bend to put socks or trousers on without it killing.

Ducky didn't you have it? Has it gone since birth?

Siarie · 08/01/2015 19:12

You have to drink naice champagne cupcake cheap stuff gives me headaches, or does the nice stuff do that as well? The stuff we buy is our treat, we don't drink weekly so usually splash out once a month. Although we have something very special saved for D Day!

I may have left you a smily face as a comment on one of your latest videos Smile

Ducky your DS might grow out of the dairy intolerance so I wouldn't worry too much.

Cupcake92 · 08/01/2015 18:33

That's crazy Ducky! Confused I wasn't told I was feeding DS too much either :s I mean he's a chunky lad but he's not fat. He's always liked his food but he was a big baby anyway when born Confused
I was told always feed on demand when they are newborns and never leave newborns to cry.... So... What do u do? Confused that's confusing. Tbh I think if they are happy then ur doing everything right! :) and babies grow out of milk intolerance Ducky.

Iam! Haha! Grin I'm not famous! :p
feeling slightly special being fb stalked!

Siarie I cant drink champagne !! :( :( every time I do I have awful stomach ache it's terrible :(

OP posts:
Siarie · 08/01/2015 18:21

So based on my book it says formula fed should be 3-4 hours whereas breastfeeding 1-1.5 hours.

It's part of why I'm looking forward to just bottle feeding now. I doubt my body will be able to produce a milk supply that's sufficient anyway (thyroid issues) and I also get to drink champagne again.

I miss champagne so very much Sad

iamdivergent · 08/01/2015 17:56

omg cupcake you're famous! Grin I didn't just stalk you on fb

ducky he's obviously hungry, he wouldn't just eat and eat - I was told my milk was too rich with dd2 as she was putting on too much weight Hmm Confused you can't win!

hope everyone else is doing well x

Ducky23 · 08/01/2015 17:47

I don't know Confused the consultant made me feel bad, he said currently he's eating over 3 times what he should be Blush but all the midwifes and HV knew how much I was feeding him and never said anything. I just feel a bit lost with it at the moment. I have read a couple of things that say over feeding can cause a few things that he has :-/ why is it so difficult!

They said if it's the intolerance then they will put his formula on prescription. Do you know if they grow out of it? Or will he have to have dairy free stuff when he's older Confused

How much is yours eating lulu?

Cupcake92 · 08/01/2015 17:39

No I take no notice at all :)

Ducky quite a lot of babies have milk intolerance, they do special formula at the supermarket for it. Think aptimil and Sma do the special one. Most babies grow out of it as they get older :)
And omg so u have to Wait 3 hours each time to feed him? My DS would have hated that! He was fed every 1 and a half to 2 hours! Blush was I not supposed to do that? Blush oops!

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 08/01/2015 16:40

Pay no notice of them cupcake, people can be assholes. Smile

Mw arranged for ds to be checked at hospital, they think he may have a milk intolerance Confused they also said I need to not feed him more than 3 hourly BlushBlushBlush

Siarie · 08/01/2015 14:28

I read some of them Cupcake, Daily Mail comments are always like that. Don't take any of them as real life opinions, they don't know the amount of people who using the internet to document their TTC journey and the benefits of it.

Without being able to join in on mums net I wouldn't have had anyone to talk to while I was TTC.

I have a repeat prescription for iron tablets already (doctors gave it to me because I get anaemic all the time). But I will get my blood tested I think when I see the midwife next Monday for my 25 week appointment, just so I know if it really is low.

I feel a bit better now though. Oh great news about the weight gain Ducky! What a little star.

Cupcake92 · 08/01/2015 13:13

Don't know if any of u have read the comments on the article?
They are so so so mean. And downright rude and disrespectful! Can't believe what people can be like, it disgusts me!

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 08/01/2015 12:26

Siarie I'm with ducky ask for a blood test :) hope u feel better soon Flowers im on CD 18 now :)

Oh that's fab Ducky!!! :) see uve been doing all the right things. How lucky is DS to have u aye!

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 08/01/2015 12:03

I was anemic before pregnancy and it got worse when I was pg, can you ask your gp for a blood test siarie? They can prescribe iron tablets for you.

He's put weight on Grin I'm really surprised. Mw is going the hospital to speak to the drs to see if they have any ideas about it/how long it lasts

Siarie · 08/01/2015 11:54

Actually I think maybe I'm sick and anaemic, i feel like I might be sick but it doesn't feel like MS did. Knowing me I probably picked something up from the GP yesterday!

Siarie · 08/01/2015 11:45

I feel kind of weird, I think I might be a little anaemic so going to have a few iron tablets today. Usual signs, short of breath, I can feel my heartbeat, cold, tired and I look pale.

I have an easy day today, a cleaner is coming for four hours and were going to order takeaway later. Kind of annoying as my usual cleaner couldn't make it so I'll have to show the new one where everything is and she won't be the same, had to do that last time too as it was christmas and the lady must have been off.

What CD are you now Cupcake? It's hard though ducky as you don't want to make a fuss although over nothing or at least thats how I always feel. Not just about pregnancy but in general I always try and just make do when I don't feel well.

Cupcake92 · 08/01/2015 10:57

Brilliant Ducky! Well done DS for sleeping well! :) and well it was worth it getting checked out all those times wasn't it Ducky :) he's here safe now.

And Siarie as far as I know it wasn't joint with clearblue but they seem to have rele shown cloearblue off in the pics! So who knows! Grin I can't wait to plan a proper wedding with a proper dress! That's what im looking forward to, a proper wedding dress :) and to have all the famiky there. I regret rushing into it tho, wish id done it properly the first time.

Hope u feel okay now Siarie Flowers

Ducky23 · 08/01/2015 10:42

Id say just remember to get checked if you are EVER worried about movements or even if you feel uneasy get it checked Smile

I lost count of the amount of times that I got checked out Confused haha

Siarie · 08/01/2015 10:29

I just watched some of your videos, hope you don't mind Smile

Siarie · 08/01/2015 09:58

Oh I don't feel well this morning, oh dear.

Ahh cupcake I remember you talking about this now. Interesting article but I hate how DM always put a spin on things, were the video uploads part of a scheme with clearblue? Or am I totally thinking or something different.

Weddings are so so much fun to plan, i loved doing it. I Spent so much time on Etsy and other places planning, pretty much the same as I'm doing for the baby planning actually Hmm

As I write this I'm starting to feel better now. I must have waited too long to eat breakfast this morning.

Reading ducky and lulu's posts are making me so excited to meet my little one. I do hope it all goes well, I'm keeping my eye on movements now after you telling me about your experience ducky. If I don't feel her move for a bit I put some music on or eat something sweet to get her to kick.
