Lulu what a lovely walk that sounded! Wish we had somewhere like that to walk. And it's been quite nice here just a little chilly but not too bad :)

Ducky the doctors in my surgery love it when they get a thank u card! :) and even though they've only seen some patients once they know exactly who they are and always seem to remember everything about them! It's crazy! So yes I'd say get him one :)

I'm a bit emotional tonight !! :( at 5am this morning I woke up to banging and went into dS and he was trying to escape his cot! He's been doing it a lot recently but this time he was almost over! If he had carried on he'd have rele hurt himself :( so.... Today we cleared out all the unsafe things in his room, brought another stair gate for his door and a new bed guard! :) took a side off his cot and put the bed guard on! so he's now almost turned his cot into the bed! (It's a cot bed)

Can't believe how fast he's growing up :( where's my little baby gone??? :( but jm so proud of him! :)

It doesn't sound silly at all. I would write just what you have said in it because he needs to know that. He might be able to influence things lower down. I think he would be very pleased with a card.

Ducky23 · 17/01/2015 18:05

He's pretty much back to his old self Smile I am so so happy.

Does it sound stupid to get the consultant a thank you card? I only saw him briefly and he will probably have no idea who I am but I think after a very difficult few days he was the only person to listen and not judge me (I kind of felt the rest of them treated me like a paranoid crazy lady)

LuluJakey1 · 17/01/2015 17:43

We haven't had anything like that yet Ducky.

How is DS today?

Ducky23 · 17/01/2015 17:34

It's been freezing here! We've had the heating on all day!

It snowed here last week, it was one of the days I had to take ds to the hospital, I put him in the car and then put my keys in to turn the heating on while I scraped the windows and my window wipers came on and threw snow all over me! Confused

LuluJakey1 · 17/01/2015 17:28

We only managed an hour's walk and the temperature was really falling so we came home. The sky was really grey and heavy. Has it been snowing anywhere? It hasn't here but it is definitely cold enough.

DH is going along to the pub to meet his friend he cycles with. DS and I are staying in next to the radiator and keeping warm.

LuluJakey1 · 17/01/2015 09:34

Ducky, sounds like DS is sorted and well on the mend. That is great, you must be very relieved.

After his breakfast DS dozed off and DH and I have had 2 hours in bed together where we could have a kiss and cuddle and a chat and it was so nice. DS is awake now and lying on the bed while DH entertains him.

It is nicer weather and we are going to go to the country park and nature reserve up the coast and do a walk on a path that goes along the back of the dunes, through the reed beds and past the ponds where all the birds winter. It should be lovely- if we time it properly! If not we could have a screaming baby and two stressed parents.

Have a good day everyone.

Cupcake92 · 16/01/2015 23:09

Ducky it's so good DS is feeling loads better! :) glad u kept pushing the doctors!

Lulu I bet it'll be nice spending some time together for a few weeks :) and I bet ur hair looks lovely! I get mine done next week not sure what to do with it tho!

LuluJakey1 · 16/01/2015 21:47

I am looking forward to having him at home really. DS has changed so much already and it will be lovely for him to spend time with him without being tired at the end of a day when he sees him. DS is much more alert now and interested in things. Sometimes, I think he might almost smile but I am not sure.
DH is so good with him and DS definitely responds to him. They have been in the bath together tonight.

Talking about poor memory, I wanted to get 4 things in the village today. I came back with 6 but only 2 were what I went for.

I have had my hair cut very short again like in the summer. It feels much nicer short.

It is freezing and sleety again here tonight. Hope it is better weather tomorrow.

Ducky23 · 16/01/2015 21:35

That's how I feel cupcake Grin

He's loads better! It's almost like I have my baby back! He still has a bit of tummy ache and is straining and sometimes crying a bit but nothing like before Grin

Bet it will be nice tho to have him at home with you lulu Smile

Cupcake92 · 16/01/2015 21:34

Wow Lulu DS slept well! :) good on him. And maybe a few days at PIL would be nice! :)

My nose keeps bleeding! Every time I blow it! It's very annoying Hmm

Oh memory loss. I do the describing of the object because I can't remember anything at the moment. For example to DH ' Pass me the........the thing you tip pasta into to drain the water. It's round with holes in'. DH passes the sieve.

I am bottlefeeding Siarie. My maternity pants were huge Grin I am not missing them.

Ducky- is DS any better by the end of today?

Yes, we got good sleep last night.DS fed about 11. Woke just before 3, was asleep again by 20 past and slept until half 7 this morning. It was bliss. He is doing 4 hours between feeds quite often now.

He is a very easy going baby but does have a pet lip which appears if he does not like something. But I can hoover round him and dry my hair and he is fine with that- he sleeps through the hoover.

We have walked into the village and done some shopping this afternoon and stopped for a coffee. He was as good as gold. DH's paternity leave started tonight so he will be home for two weeks upsetting our routine no doubt Wink

We might go down to PIL for a couple of days in the second week. It does not seem too daunting.

Cupcake92 · 16/01/2015 18:48

I still have memory loss Grin someone will explain something to me and then completely forget what they say as soon as they walk away! Grin
And thanks Siarie! :) DS looks cute but he's a devil in disguise! Can be lovely and so loving one day to playing up at almost everything the next day. I wouldn't change a thing about him tho :) I love him so so much! My iccle angel! :)

Ducky I'm like u! Can never nap in the day, don't know why but I just can't as I always think I should be doing something else.

I've had such a busy day at work today! And to top it off my handbrake on my car has seized up! Thankfully as its new and its under warranty it's being fixed for free on Monday. But how annoying aye!

iamdivergent · 16/01/2015 18:42

I napped with DD1 but couldn't with dd2 just couldn't sleep in the day Confused

Ducky23 · 16/01/2015 16:48

I hate to add that once I got to the shops I realised I was wearing my slippers Blush luckily they aren't obviously slippers haha! Grin

Yep you will never have a fully functioning brain again Grin

Everyone probably sleeps better than me tho as they will nap during the day but I just can never do that! I don't know why! My body doesn't let me!

Siarie · 16/01/2015 16:35

Don't worry it's hard to keep track of everything, certainly posts online is way out there on the top priority. I went out yesterday to pick up some things I needed to make dinner this evening, bought a bunch of stuff I didn't need and forgot the one item I did.

I swear my memory is just shocking at the moment, I guess once pregnancy is done with then I've got tiredness memory loss to look forward to Grin

Ducky23 · 16/01/2015 15:42

Sorry siarie! I'm so tired my brain isn't working properly!
I went shopping earlier, paid for my stuff and walked away without it Confused
Luckily a lot of the staff in the shop know me so they held it until I remembered haha

Siarie · 16/01/2015 15:08

In fact I do wonder if maybe me and Lulu type I'm a similar way as sometimes I do see people reply to my posts directed to Lulu lol!

My old screen name used to be Lulu too, it's an odd world.

Siarie · 16/01/2015 15:06

I'm planning to bottle feed, I've got the perfect prep machine (I mentioned it :P but I'll forgive you) unless Lulu mentioned it a while back on a previous thread?

Lulu did mention she had one though but I forgot until now, baby brain is weird! I was wondering if she was breast feeding as they tend to bring on cramps don't they?

Were going to bottle feed, I was going to breast feed but I have thyroid issues and I really don't want to stress my system out with trying to produce milk. I won't know how much she's drinking and the thyroid problems can hinder flow. So I've just caved and accepted it really, If I was really up for it then maybe I would push through and try but It doesn't really matter to me either way on a personal level.

Ducky23 · 16/01/2015 10:42

Siarie I was the same on the pill! With dd I bled lightly for about a week but everyone kept telling me 'nature is kinder after a stillbirth' Hmm so I just assumed the same would happen with ds... My god was I wrong! He's 6 weeks on Monday and I only stopped the other day Blush he's worth it Smile

Lulu is bottle feeding, I know as she was the one to mention the perfect prep machine which is AMAZING! Grin I love it.

Are you planning to breast feed or bottle feed?

Anyone bottle feeding I would really really reccomend the perfect prep and it's usually on offer somewhere for £50-£60 Smile

Siarie · 16/01/2015 10:34

Also while I'm here I'll just throw it out there that cupcakes DS is adorable, even more so on the videos lol! He's so so cute. I hope that my second is a boy, looks like a totally different experience to a girl although I wanted a girl first.

Siarie · 16/01/2015 10:31

Mother of all poos, he's having a clear out Ducky!

Just woken up my little girl with a bit of music this morning, she was having a nap I think as I hadn't felt a strong kick yet just little ones. Soon as I woke her up she's now punching like a pro.

Aww well I think I'll be a heavy one, if my AF was anything to go by. Although that said I went on the pill so I didn't have AF for years, my only AF off the pill was much lighter and shorter.

Wow lulu! I've never worn a pair of full sized pants, ever. Lulu are you breastfeeding or bottle?

Ducky23 · 16/01/2015 09:13

I hope everyone's dc slept well! Mine didn't, he was straining and crying all night then at 6am had the mother of all poos!

Lulu mine stopped for 2/3 days then started again with a vengeance!

Mine was v v v heavy siarie, it might have been due to the episiotomy tho. I was wearing 2 thick maternity towels on top of each other and was soaking through them both in about 30 mins Confused

LuluJakey1 · 15/01/2015 22:34

Well DS is having his feed now. He is with DH. I said I will see to him during the night because DH is just shattered. He really needs some uninterrupted sleep tonight.

No bleeding today but I am wary of not using the pads incase it starts again. How long do you think I should wait before I can be sure it has stopped?

Sairie, it was never really awful-it was like a heavy period- well, heavy for me. That lasted about 10 days and it has just trailed off for a few days and now stopped.

DH says the big pants are very sexy Grin They were full size, up to my waist. I am back in my lacy shorts today and just a small pad. Feel a bit more normal and my stomach is shrinking but I still get cramping pains sometimes. I don't feel like my insides are going to fall out anymore though. Grin

Cupcake92 · 15/01/2015 22:11

Oo I hope DS sldeps well tonight for u Lulu !my DS went to bed and has just woken up as he's had a nightmare he was screaming and I ran up to him and ha was shaking bless him :( he's lay in bed with me atm weirdly picking at his eye lashes Confused
