I'm here, sorry for being away so long, work got in the way. A line is a line Pink Butterfly but I can understand your trepidation so I'll whisper congrats very quietly and say it louder each time you get a stonger line ! Hello all the other ladies, how are you all? KitKat - still hanging in there?

KitKat30 · 17/10/2006 15:02

She has been quiet...maybe she'll pop up this eve.

Completely understand you wanting to be cautious - so hard not to get carried away...I get carried away and I havent even had a +ve yet!!

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 14:50

Wonder where MrsMcJ is today ?

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 14:36

Thanks Kitkat but no congrats yet! I am mega paranoid and trying not to get too excited right now. Was reading some stuff a few days ago about how these early tests sometimes are not such a good thing as 20% of all pg end in early m/c and always have - just we didn't used to have these test available so just assumed we were late/heavy af.

I have m/c before so always terrified anyway.

Now dreading that AF is going to appear. Just going to try and stay calm (although have already starting chatting to my wee bean!) and test each morning to see if there are still two lines then will buy a first response or clearblue and test Sunday or Monday if no AF.

Really really didn't expect to see pos result on test but glad to see all my symptoms haven't been imaginary.

Think DH is a bit upset because we agreed to test together then I ended up phoning him on mobile because I was so surprised! Not the most romantic!

I'll keep you posted and fingers and toes still well and truly crossed for you at weekend. xx

Welcome Pancha. Where are you in your cycle ??

KitKat30 · 17/10/2006 14:24

Oh my god PinkB - that is soooo exciting!! Congrats!!! EeeekkkK!!!

Hi Pancha - come and join some other very neurotic women!

Pancha · 17/10/2006 14:17

Hi, do you mind if I join this thread, I am also in my first month of ttc, and am also completely consumed by it all! Would be great to share this agony!

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 12:50

Don't know why I did it - went into a wee chemist shop when I was out as Adsa there and bought these really cheap early detection tests - just did one in loo and have a faint second line!!

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 17/10/2006 08:56

Thanks PinkB - think I'm just going to wait till Sat. Can't bear another BFN before then.

I think it's access diagnostics or something? I'm always slightly sceptical of buying things from companies I havent heard of though - what if they're dodgy products? But if everyone on here buys them, they must be OK

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 08:39

Sorry Kitkat. 10dpo may just be way to early for you. I remember you saying AF due 21st-23rd so maybe 19th would be better day to test. I have seen some threads here where it's been days after AF even due before they have had BFP. Everything still well and truly crossed for you.

Also, I see quite alot of people who are serial testers like us seem to buy tests via internet and are much cheaper. Saw someone quoting a website the other day - think it was earlypregnancy.co.uk ? Something about access logistics or something. I'm thinking of looking there instead of spending a fortune in boots on ov and pg tests!!

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 17/10/2006 08:23

Hi girls - BFN... not even the slightest hint of second line!! I knew it would be, just annoyed because I allowed myself to think otherwise... will try again on Sat - that will be 14dpo. Wish it wasnt all so expensive - it's like putting a fiver down the loo every time!

KitKat30 · 16/10/2006 15:52

Thanks MrsMcJ - so convinced it's going to be neg though. Feel sure that I've just read far too much and am making myself have symptoms.

Will post tomorrow as soon as I know... keep everything crossed girls!!

xx

MrsMcJnr · 16/10/2006 11:18

Thanks for asking ladies, weekend was good but far too short

KitKat - how exciting that you are testing tomorrow! I shall be waiting with baited breath.

PinkButterfly · 16/10/2006 11:01

Thurs is 11dpo for me. AF due next Sunday/Monday. Don't think I'll last much past Thursday but going to try and hold out. I have quite a lot on this week (after today) and DS1 off school for October week so maybe keeping myself busy will help me hold out.

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 16/10/2006 10:56

I think you can use them before - it's just less accurate...something like 50% chance of it being wrong if you use it 4 days early (not that I've been reading up on the subject!). I bet I get a BFN...

Are you testing on Thurs??? Will that be 14dpo?

PinkButterfly · 16/10/2006 10:42

Yeah it's First Response, white and pink box - says can test up to 4 days earlier than expect AF. It's a line one and not a digital. Haven't ever used digital ones - think they are only for use on/after AF due ?

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 16/10/2006 10:38

of course...! Unless I'm still weeping in my bathroom at the BFN of course...

Think I'll use that one too - is that the one with two lines? Want a second line no matter how faint!!!

PinkButterfly · 16/10/2006 10:24

ooohhhh - I can't wait for you.

I got pos 10dpo with DS2 so not too early as hormone levels may be high enough to detect.

What test are you going to use ? I always use the first response early test.

Will you come on and tell us right away in morning??? pleeeaaassseeee!!

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 16/10/2006 10:21

I'm going to cave and do a test tomorrow - way too early I know (only 10dpo) but at least I'll feel like I'm doing something!

How was your w/e MrsMcJ?

PinkButterfly · 16/10/2006 10:03

Morning MrsMcJnr. Good weekend ?

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 16/10/2006 09:53

Your poor friends Pink Butterfly, I truly believe that I'll love DH forever and beyond, I would rather die than live without his love, dramatic but true but then again, I don't have kids to go on for yet.

KitKat - poor you, must be driving you mad! Hope you are pg.

PinkButterfly · 16/10/2006 09:45

When are you testing KitKat - what's the earliest you can again ?

My friend is obviously devastated but holding things together better than I would be to be honest. They are going to have to sell house etc which is awful and even more of an upheaval for everyone. No, sure there is no-one else involved. He is actually a really good guy. Loves his family and gave my friend everything and anything she asked for - such a shame it's ended like this but I'm sure he wouldn't be doing it if he didn't feel it best for everyone in long run (though obviously doesn't feel like it now). Think it's much braver to do this than sit in an unhappy marriage just for sake of kids/home etc and I know he wouldn't have hurted my friend or his kids for the world unless he was truly sure - so sad.

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 16/10/2006 09:27

W/e was OK - just couldn't think about anything other than the obvious! Still feeling a few (phantom?!) symptoms... cramping is v faint now, but felt pretty nauseous on and off all weekened, v thirsty (so consequently am peeing every 2 mins!), and I had this very odd sensation behind my belly button (like someone was poking it)... aaarrrghh! Wish I could stop analysing everything...

Poor your friend - she must be heartbroken. Does she think he's seeing someone else?

PinkButterfly · 16/10/2006 09:18

Morning Kitkat - how was your weekend ? x

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 16/10/2006 08:55

Morning everyone

Shame about the night out PinkB - hope your son feels better soon.

Hope everyone's OK this morning?

x

PinkButterfly · 15/10/2006 19:41

Hello Ladies

Well my date didn't happen!! DS2 waited til DH and I were all glammed and ready to go then threw up all over the place. Was sick all night regularly until 6am this morning and has been v lethargic and poorly all day today. He has just perked up a short while ago but after having had no kip all night and day I am shattered so hoping he will settle down soon. Certainly managed to take mind off poss pg. Also found out that my best friend's husband has told her he no longer loves her and they are splitting up. She has three kids (one of whom is my godson) which is obviously devastating (oh look I can spell it tonight!). Made me think I am so lucky to have my lovely family and should concentrate on that. Don't get me wrong still so want a new child and will still be testing on Thursday but going to be better focussed and not so obsessed! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. xx
