Looking for a TTC buddy!

Hello! I'm needing a TTC buddy as I'm finding myself constantly over thinking things and it's driving my husband mad so would be great to discuss it with someone else in the same boat!

I'm TTC baby number 3. I came off the pill 3 days ago and I'm very impatient, want to get started right now! Anyone else in a similar situation want to buddy up?

Loving the lettuce free zone although I have just filled my fridge with all fruit and veg to help boost my baby making vitamins and energy.

Manderley... Intrigued by the mumps thing, my nurse asked if I was protected from mmr jab because it would be important for me and baby in future when I eventually get pregnant?! Didn't realise it could affect fertility.

Really feel for you if having problems getting caught pregnant must be so hard. Could be me yet! Guess you don't know until you start trying. The whole coil thing sounds scary can't! How rubbish.

Fingers crossed for your bfp this weekend boo. Could be your time.

I'm shattered first full day at work today with 5:30 start!! Hmmmm dtd tonight? Best have a coffee for some energy haha!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 05/01/2015 19:52

Wow. Sorry about the essay!!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 05/01/2015 19:51

Ok no more salad talk on this thread then!

Same as me, I have dd age 9 from previous relationship, had her at 18 & thought it would just be that easy again. Not nosey at all. I knew straight away. I only usually have a period every 3/4 months so knew that would be a factor, just didn't know how much. I had a coil after my daughter was born, and decided in April 2014 to have it removed after long chats with OH to have another baby. It was a stubborn little bugger and got lost\stuck in my womb. After several GPs/health advisors and me havin enough of constantly having someone prodding me around with my legs in the air Blush I eventually had to go private to have it removed as it was 8 month waiting list on NHS. That was September 2014. It was only when the private gynae explained to me how difficult it would be for me with cycles like mine. He casually asked if my partner had any children which was no. Then he said we may went to get him checked as a precautionary measure.. Didn't expect that one to come back bloody low! That's just my luck though. So I'm technically only in cycle 3 of 4 months. The acupuncture seems to be helping me have a more regular cycle now - 33 days as opposed to 90. But bow trying to find out whether I am actually ovulating and whether I do have any eggs left... Should have eggs as am only 28. 31 is also still young. My advice would be to take it as easy as you can. If you have regular cycles etc, chances are that you are fine. If it comes to a year, ask docs for basic bloods.

Mmmmm monster munch!! Can mumps impact fertility then manderley?

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 05/01/2015 17:56

Salad? Bleurgh! I can tolerate watercress and rocket but iceberg lettuce is my nemesis, can't stand the stuff!
Don't need to lose weight (bottom end of healthy BMI) but eat far too much sugar. Took some corn fritters, leftover homemade coleslaw, olives, cucumber, tomatoes, chickpeas etc to work for lunch...then got bored and went and bought monster munch and skittles!

I'm 30 and this seems to be about the age most of my friends started TTC. There have been a couple of early starters but still mostly just happily married with no DC yet. Going to see how we get on, DH is a little concerned as he had mumps when he was a teenager. I did suggest he speak to the doctor if he was worried but resolutely against that.

booboobeedoo11 · 05/01/2015 17:19

Haha...I am a total salad dodger 90% of the year...unless its smothered in some kind of ultra fatty sauce, which defeats the purpose obviously!

Sorry to hear about the fertility issues yous are having. Fingers crossed for you its not too long a journey.

My OH has never had a child and my son was born when I had just turned 20, he was conceived when I was on the pill at 19 tho, I was prob missing the odd one or late taking it so I think I prob thought at first that it would happen right away being off bc....naive! Two of my friends have had long times ttc, one just over a year and the other around 2yrs. I don't want to jump the gun and be thinking about having tests done and stuff at this point but at the same time I don't want to be 2yrs down the line, coming up for 34 and realising we do maybe need help in that area.

I dont want to be nosey and don't feel like you need to answer but how long were you ttc before you found out about the fertility issues?

I'm 31 and def dont feel or think 31 is too old...I just don't want to be too much older before I start 'investigating' these things. My Aunt had fertility problems and my cousin also has the same issue, I know it's a heartbreaking thing to go through.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 05/01/2015 16:34

You appear to be doing great, good attitude Smile Well I have my fingers crossed for you!

My OH would say your OH is very lucky - my OH has witnessed some awful break downs and obsessive behaviour in the months leading up to xmas., maybe should have tried to keep it from him a bit. I think that because I had thought about being pg over xmas so much, my sub-conscience had made me believe it. My OH & I both have fertility issues, so I know deep down that it's going to be a much longer road for us but hey, at least we have the fun in trying!

Me too - back on the health kick wagon. I do like salad, I do like salad, I do like salad.....

booboobeedoo11 · 05/01/2015 16:16

cycle 6 thats meant to be!!

booboobeedoo11 · 05/01/2015 16:16

If AF comes this weekend then this will be cycle after coming off the pill, first three months I'd say were just 'seeing what happens cycles' nov/dec cycles I was taking it as ovulating around the average time so been dtd on and around that time. Compared to the last cycles this non optimistic month is totally throwing me! I think feeling so gutted when AF showed up last time has maybe put me off. Yip, being optimistic when you want something so bad really is hard work! I know its hardly been the longest time ttc but it gets you down, especially when we have to go through it every month!

Oooh your OH must be looking forward to this week haha. Mine still doesn't know the extent to which I obsess over it (normally) and for now I'd like to keep it that way...he's just happy to be dtd so much, Must be great to be the man!

I'm sure I wouldn't notice any bloating or twinging this month anyway considering I've at 10 times my body weight in chocolates!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 05/01/2015 16:04

Hi boo - nice that you have been busy through the tww torture! Maybe the lack of optimism is because you have been so pre-occupied and not a chance to think about it? Shame about your cold, mine was pre-xmas! If that's the case, hold out until Saturday to test, be easier on the mindset! What cycle are you in now? I am coming into my fertile window this week (fingers crossed) so I have text OH this morning that he had better be feeling energetic as dtd every other day hasn't worked for us so far, so this week it's EVERY NIGHT!! He doesn't know whether to be excited or shattered just thinking about it haha I'll then be due to test around the 25th - hopefully bringing a shiny BFP to the thread!!! jeez this optimism is hard work

booboobeedoo11 · 05/01/2015 15:37

Hi all...think I'm around 10dpo, af should be due saturday. Just dont feel optimistic at all this month! Not been as obsessed because we've been so busy but def dtd around when I think my fertile window was so I know I'm not out yet. Also been loaded with the cold, which I think I'm just about over but have not noticed sore boobs or anything yet, not even dying to POAS yet because I just dont feel its our month. When is everyone due to test/AF. Hope we get some nice BFPs on this thread!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 05/01/2015 08:21

Hi Boyle

Glad to hear you're doing well and given up the alcohol. I am also dtd instead of the vino... It has it's moments I guess haha.

I don't recommend OPKs at all. 2 reasons, my GP told me they are a waste of time and money, because sometimes you may have only a 12 hour window to catch it right and secondly - because I can never bloody get one!! I have given up on them, and solely relying on EWCM now. Haven't been able to temp over xmas as have been so out of routine. Not noticed the huge boobies due to OV but my OH has definitely noticed my big boobies after Christmas!!Unfortunately they are not the only place I have gained some timber so... Back to the salad!!

The acupuncture is to regulate my cycle. Has brought them down from around 90/100 days to 33 days so far. I've read that it's popular for people having IVF and brings miscarriage rate down by about 30% What are your cycles like?

Boyle1884 · 05/01/2015 07:57

Hi all.. Hope everyone is well?! Going to be a long cycle for me as so impatient about this baby making lark.

Have given up alcohol for January and hoping this helps my efforts to get pg this month. Dtd lots do occupying time though haha.

Welcome newbies... You're in safe hands. Lovely group here.

Only my second cycle post pill this time and my boobs are HUGE!!! Anyone else have this around ovulation? Bloody hormones! Can anyone recommend any opks?! Am I best just to do eBay cheapies?

Can't-what does the acupuncture do? Is it cycle related?

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 04/01/2015 18:01

Hi mrsgray

Welcome. So an a scale of obsessed to obsessed... Where are you so far?! Haha.

Very nice thought about the family thing I agree!

I have no wisdom on your medication I'm sorry and would be inclined to say speak to GP? Or start a thread on here about it? Maybe others taking it.

manderley I'm not the best with needles,. But only in my arms for some reason?! At least it's just the one though hey. And all for a fantastic reason!! Very jealous!

In cd13 and have had the tiniest barely noticeable bit of EWCM, which is 3 days earlier than last month - all good for me. Don't know if it's the acupuncture or the soy but I'm not asking questions and keep doing both!!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 04/01/2015 13:07

Mrsgray (or as my phone's autocorrect calls you muskrat Wink ) that is a really lovely thought. I really hope there's truth in it.

No idea about sertraline and TTC, as I understand it it's the one which is OK for during pregnancy, especially if your anxiety is bad without it. Maybe ask your GP?

cant I only need to have Hep A which is low risk as it's an inactive vaccine. Apparently they wouldnt normally give it during pg though, even though no evidence of risk, so as long as I'm still TTC then that's technically ok. Nurse was very good and pragmatic, saying it's no different to the assault of germs you get every day. Booked in for a fortnight which could be fun as I'm needle phobic!

I'm on CD21, find it hard to pinpoint OV though and getting to stay away from tempting, opks etc for a while as I know I'll become a crazy lady!

Back to work.tomorrow thoigh,boo!

Themrsgray · 03/01/2015 21:36

Hi everyone hope you dont mind me joining.
Manderley so sorry to hear about your grandfather. I am a believer though that when a family member is lost they are replaced by another so maybe this will be your month? It has happened in my family everytime somebody has passed away....there has been a pregnancy.

I am currently cd10 and due to ovulate around 8th Jan. A quick question I take sirtriline as I suffer with anxiety does anyone think this may decrease my chances of a bfp? I know people often say it happened once they relaxed but thats hard for me though I am trying my best.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 03/01/2015 19:14

Hi all!

Welcome Mrs Lol, we are a friendly bunch! How are things going so far?

Glad you're doing ok manderley how did docs go?

Booboo! Feel sorry for you in the TWW!! Maybe it's a positive thing that you are not feeling same as last month?!

All good here, nothing really to report.. DTD every day this YEAR Grin haha, doing as much as we can to get into habit! Fertile window will apparently be end of next week but no harm in practice.

Oh and my bloody acupuncture hurt today!! More the reflexology that he mixes in with it - apparently after a period, your feet are more tense. I swear there is a banjo string in my heel. Ouchie!!

booboobeedoo11 · 03/01/2015 15:59

1 week til AF or POAS time for me! Feeling the opposite from last month...not really symptom spotting and not feeling positive at all! Might be because I was so disappointed last month as I thought I really could've been and don't want to put myself through that again.

Hi MrsLOL I'm ttc #2 after 10yrs on bc and I'm 31...feel as though I'm against the clock!!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 02/01/2015 13:00

Hello All!
Hope you had a fab New Year? Ours was pretty low key just snuggled up on the sofa with the dog (who is probably our 'pfb'). Thank you for all of your kind words about recent events, it's been a tough few weeks but here's to all that 2015 can bring.
Hi MrsLOL - hopefully things will go smoothly for you.
I'm off to the doctors in an hour - we're going to China at Easter and need to work out what to do about injections. Oh the joy...

Emma321q · 01/01/2015 23:44

Hi mrslol2015

Just wanted to wish you well in your efforts in ttc. We have only been trying for two months so far and I can't believe the wealth of info I have learnt already. This forum is brilliant!

MrsLOL2015 · 01/01/2015 22:55

Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie, TTC for first-time :o) Feeling very odd (excited nervousness?!)

Came off Cerazette last September 2014 after 6 years, had previously been on the depo injection for 4 years before that. Now at the ripe age of 28 its 2015 and the husband and I have decided time to try...

This is all very new to me, never tracked periods (always been few and far between due to contraceptives) or understood ovulation, learning all about it via mumsnet and google. Most importantly revising the mumsnet glossary of terms Wink

Good luck to everyone x

Boyle1884 · 01/01/2015 19:11

Happy new year all!!! I'm about to head into fertile window next week and oh and I have promised to dtd every other day haha... The things he agrees to after a bottle if champagne! Good luck for bfps in January.

booboobeedoo11 · 01/01/2015 13:42

Hey Ladies...I was feeling fine, not really been over thinking ttc because I've been so busy, which is prob a good thing! But I'm now cd20 and I just know that now things have calmed down a little that I'll be back to the torture of the 2ww! AF should be due around the 10th, no idea when/if I ovulated as all i'm currently using is fertility friend but basically just for the calendar. Going by cycle dates I should've been most fertile 23rd-26th, wasn't really making sure this month as we were running around mad getting things organised but I think we prob dtd every second day at least around that point.

I'm only on cycle 5 after stopping bc and prob only started taking notice of dates for dtd the last 2 cycles but the more AF shows her face, the more disappointed I feel each time. So really gona start charting and try opk's this month.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 01/01/2015 12:09

Yep, just keep doing what you're doing, you'll have a happy hubby & just try to take the rough with the smooth Smile

Emma321q · 01/01/2015 11:14

Thanks for your reply cantbelieveimdoingthisagain. I am in a much more positive mood this morning. My period is due on the 11th but I am determined to try to carry on as normal and just see how things develop without over analysing every potential symptom.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 01/01/2015 11:04

Hey emma I think that's it's such a poignant time of year that it does get to us. My feeling is to jump on the 'new year, new me' positive approach wagon and just try to keep myself upbeat. Saw new year out with a bang & 2015 in with a bang Wink starting as we mean to go on and all that other crap I'm on cd9 o farrrr to early for me as ovulation not predicted until cd20! But you're not out yet! When are you due to test?

Happy New Year to all you lovely ladies! 2015 - the year of the BFP!
