Hello! I'm needing a TTC buddy as I'm finding myself constantly over thinking things and it's driving my husband mad so would be great to discuss it with someone else in the same boat!

I'm TTC baby number 3. I came off the pill 3 days ago and I'm very impatient, want to get started right now! Anyone else in a similar situation want to buddy up?

Interestingly, I have a berocca every day (well, the boots version!) and noticed it has no vitamin A, lots of B6 and folic too so thought I might just carry on with that...?
PS Still no AF. Bored now...

Boyle1884 · 10/12/2014 17:22

I started taking folic acid the day I came off the pill... Started taking multivitamins too but read vitamin a not good for baby so have stopped taking those and looking for a conception and pregnancy one?! Anyone used conception plus? A few people have said how good that is?

booboobeedoo11 · 10/12/2014 14:58

Hi all...new to mumsnet so please be gentle with me haha. I'm ttc #2 after being on microgynon for 10yrs. I'm 31 and have a son from a previous relationship who's gona be 11 tomorrow..eeek! Anyway, I stopped bc in july and AF has been regular since the moment I stopped, give or take a few days so this is cycle 4 for me and I'm currently in my latest 2ww...torture! This is the first month I've really made sure we've dtd every day/2nd day leading up to ovulation so although I'm really hoping for a bfp before the weekends out, I'm not being overly optimistic! Promised myself I wouldn't get all crazy with symptom spotting every month but....I cannot help myself! I have two tests in the cupboard and dying to try one now but I'm only around 10dpo (if I've calculated right!) so don't want to do it only to get another bfn! Any of you ladies tested quite early and had a bfp?

MrsLowe14 · 10/12/2014 14:42

I've just started tracking mine with my temps using Fertility Friend (my two dots on my chart look very lonely lol!) but I'm not sure how it works out when I'm ovulating or how it works out where to put the crosshair. I'm thinking of getting Ovulation sticks as well obsessed it's my last day of SI today, after saying I had no side effects yesterdays 200mg dose made me feel weird!

AngharadPM · 10/12/2014 14:22

At this point I am not sure I could ever get tired of talking about it. Have been waiting for Cardiology for 6 months so it has been building up!

A lot of people seem to be using the ovulation things, are they simple to use?

Good luck everyone!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 10/12/2014 12:55

I meant to say too, have been charting all month for the first time only to get struck down with a bad dose of flu, sending my chart erratic and all over the place! Meh, what a waste. CM tells me that I ovulated somewhere between CD17 & CD19 - am now on CD21 - the 18th seems like a lifetime away!!!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 10/12/2014 12:51

welcome all newbies :) Nice little gang of us getting together!

cupcakes - if I breath funny, I am sure I am pg. Obsessing waiting for an implantation bleed now... Jeez, what has it come to?? Haha.

Hope you get the all clear Angharad - and by the time you get full flow mumsnet convo, you'll be glad to talk to OH about other things just for a break!!

It really is blue - yes, you may take a little time to regulate, have you started any folic acid/vitamins in preparation for pregnancy?

This is the link for the abbreviations girls :)

Hi Ladies, I would like to join you too!!

My husband and I are getting ready to TTC #1, we are both 28. I took my last pill (yasmin) on 2/12/14. I starting charting my temp this week and have also bought some ovulation strips from Amazon!

I'm expecting things to be all over the place at first but keen to see what happens! It's so easy to become a bit obsessed isn't it!!??

Best of luck to everyone :)

Boyle1884 · 10/12/2014 11:14

Great to see everyone's stories on here... And so nice to be in this together... I'm totally obsessed! Is it worth checking ovulation to such a high level? came off pill on 21st November and promised oh that we would relax and if it happens it happens! No such luck! I've got ovia app and yesterday noticed I had CM so made oh dtd!!! ??. I must have sounded desperate. Even been rubbing stomach.

Fingers crossed you all have BFPs soon... Have any of you been bloated around ovulation? I feel huge!!!

AngharadPM · 10/12/2014 10:51

Hello,

About to start TTC #1 and ridiculously excited! Don't have anyone much to talk to and don't want to freak husband out so would be great to be able to chat here.
Just waiting for the all clear from the cardiologist (should have it by Christmas Eve) and then getting going :)

cupcakesandstuff21 · 09/12/2014 22:30

cantbelieve - yep, I'm certainly a symptom spotter as well! Even on BCP I was telling my DP I was sure I was pg because of x or y haha. But I'm glad actually because it means I know my signs of AF quite well now!
I feel for you, the 18th is a while away :( If I was wrong about my cycle though I'll be due around that time as well so we can wait it out together.
Although if it settles your mind to see a BFN you could always test anyway? I found that testing and getting a BFN made me less antsy cos I knew there was nothing else I could do. I get through many HPTs though lol Grin

mrslowe - I'm actually not, I was hoping not to obsess too deeply but I think that ship has sailed! I don't get up at the same time every day though (the joys of shift work!) so I'm not sure how accurate it would be Hmm. I might look into it in the new year though, thanks for the reccommendation :)

wishing - like cantbelieve said, I have also read that if you're pregnant an OPK will be positive. It would only show up on an OPK if you're late enough to show on a HPT as well though, I believe. On the other hand I haven't had a positive at all but I'm certain I've ovulated so maybe they're just a load of *! Haha good luck :)

vickyors · 09/12/2014 20:40

Thanks cantbelieve.. Will check it out.. So glad to have other people to do all the analysing with..!

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 09/12/2014 20:34

Haha shits I have my fingers crossed for 2 little soy beans each!

wishing - I read something the other day that could be a sign of pregnancy so may be worth testing. Yet on the other hand, my GP tells me opks are a waste of time & money doesn't stop me peeing on them every 5 minutes

Wishingztar05 · 09/12/2014 20:07

I ladies also ttc #1 and started using the Fairhaven ovulation strips and started off great but then started seeing darker lines so I thought it was a + but then kept getting them over and over it has been like 9 days of dark lines (confused) so this just sucks for me.

It's great to find a place where ladies are in the same journey as I am (smile)

MrsLowe14 · 09/12/2014 17:36

I'm on day 4 (cd5) so I've taken 120, 120, 160 and I'm undecided whether to take 160 and then 200 or two lots of 200 today and tomorrow. I've had no side effects at all so hope it's actually going to do something! I'd love twins, especially twin girls as I already have two boys. Although my youngest is 'strong willed' occasionally a bit of a shit so I can't imagine twin versions haha!

Cupcake- are you tracking your temps? I've just started doing it and it looks the most accurate way of seeing if you've ovulated xx

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 09/12/2014 16:21

Hi everyone else who's joined!

mrslowe I am also a SI newbie! How did you find and what dose did you take? Nice dream - I'd love twins!! Haha.

cupcakes I am so desperate to test but wayyyy too early for me. Going to try and hold out until 18th... yeah yeah who am I kidding a fellow symptom spotter too?!

Hi vicky I can't paste it on my phone but if you go to the central chat page, there's a hyperlink called acronyms - have a look on there x

vickyors · 09/12/2014 16:11

And also, where do I find out what all the shortening a are for???? I didn't know where to ask. I can figure some out (dtd), but there are loads!

vickyors · 09/12/2014 16:08

I'm new to mumsnet, but we're about to start TTC #2. Our little one is just 2.. Excited to be off the pill!

cupcakesandstuff21 · 09/12/2014 15:35

Ooh it's nice to hear from others in the same boat :)

cantbelieve Defo an early tester, I already did one and have a stack of internet cheapies Blush
But I think I've overestimated how far into my cycle I am and wondering maybe the cramps and CM I'm having is actually a sign of ovulation? Bit hard to work out as I haven't had a real period since my withdrawal bleed and haven't had a positive OPK either... Hmm I guess it's a good excuse to keep dtd haha ;)
I will probably test again on Thursday/Friday (when I THOUGHT my period was due) but not expecting anything tbh.

And hi everyone, looking forward to taking this journey with you! :)

MrsLowe14 · 09/12/2014 11:42

Hi Ladies,
I'm also ttc number 3 after coming off the depo ugh! back in April (technically it ran out in June) I ovulated (I think) last month and got my first period on Saturday. I've now started SI to try and make sure I ovulate. Had a dream last night I was pregnant with twins lol! I'm 28 and DH is 31, I've been on here for a few weeks but everyone seems to have an established group that they are in and I don't really fit in story of my life so it would be nice to have a group to chat to :)

lastnightIwenttoManderley · 08/12/2014 21:58

Stopped taking pill in August and starting ttc #1 after next AF which is taking bloody ages to come (OK, cd33 isn't exactly ages...) I'm 30, dh is 29. Been waiting til now to get a big work project out of the way.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 08/12/2014 21:23

Hi Emma,

Just think of it as 1 non-successful month down, one step closer to your BFP month!! Grin

cupcakes will you be an early tester or waiting for AF?!

Emma321q · 08/12/2014 20:53

Hi guys.

I'm new to this website. My husband and I have been trying to conceive our first child for just a few weeks now. Got my period this morning so it's a no this month. Not really that surprised to be honest but still a little disappointed. It would be great to join you all on this journey.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 08/12/2014 19:58

Hey!

Isn't this the worst-best-time-of-your-life??? Grr, so frustrating and so easy to get obsessed!

Bit of background - decided to ttc #2 in April this year after 9 years of swearing no more kids I already have a DD from precious relationship. I had a copper coil for 8 years and it had got very stuck and stubborn and took 5 months to eventually get removed. So September, it finally came out and I immediately had a period. My cycles are 90 days long!! Aaaaargh! Had all the blood tests/scans etc and 'nothing wrong with me' Now on an 8 month gynae waiting list. Partner has slightly low sperm count but great quality. On day 49 of last period, had enough and decided to do something myself and started acupuncture. Within 6 days I had my period and started a real cycle for first time. I also took soy isoflavones this cycle as I don't believe I ovulate, I have charted my cervical mucus this month (ew) and from what I have seen, I appear to have ovulated in the last 2 days! Dtd lots- happy hubby!

So I feel like I have been trying forever, when in actual fact I am only in month 4 but only cycle 1 of ttc. Now in my first ever TWW... Here goes nothing!

Wishing you all lots of luck Flowers

Galaxy2014 · 08/12/2014 19:35

Hi Everyone,

Can I join? I'm in to my 4th cycle of trying for #1 however only just been looking at mumsnet the past week and learning all the abbreviations :)

I never knew how complicated it could be to get pregnant - I thought the min you start trying you'll end up pregnant (from all the times you've tried your hardest to avoid it!) I'm more curious to know 'how do you know your pregnant before af' but everyone has different symptons it seems. As like most, I'm not patient - but this is definitely testing me!

I tried an ovulation kit this cycle (more for peace of mind but confirmed I do ovulate) and now on the count down for AF which is end of next week but have a feeling I'm not pregnant. Just feel tired - but that could be anything :)

Hows everyone coping? x
