Looking for a TTC buddy!

Hello! I'm needing a TTC buddy as I'm finding myself constantly over thinking things and it's driving my husband mad so would be great to discuss it with someone else in the same boat!

I'm TTC baby number 3. I came off the pill 3 days ago and I'm very impatient, want to get started right now! Anyone else in a similar situation want to buddy up?

Doh, excuse middle of the night typos!

lastnightIwenttoManderley · 12/12/2014 03:49

OK, I am being totally irrational and need someone to talk sense in to me.

I'm quite worried about late AF. This seems odd for someone on a TTC thread I know, but hear me out. DH and I had specifically decided to hold off until Christmas as BIL is getting married in France in the summer so wanted to miss that. Now if it turns out my last period wasn't really a proper period and in fact I am pregnant, it would mean I am about 8 weeks....and would be due on BILs wedding day...

I appreciate there are so many low probability ifs in this, and I'm only cd35 after all, but I am know disproportionately worried about this. DH family are lovely but can't help but think they'd assume I'd planned it. Suppose the only way to sort it out is to poas and know either way. Can someone thinking much more sensibly than I am suggest other reasons for late AF?

And welcome mrscrumbtious

This calls for a shopping trip. Something to get him in the mood! And a bottle of bubble as back up Shock

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 11/12/2014 20:48

MrsLowe I have the lowest pain threshold in the world! My OH has only got to try to get stress knots out of my shoulders and I cry! Haha.

I was really apprehensive about acupuncture but completely honestly - you don't feel it! I had them in my scalp and my toes today which was new, but barely felt a thing! Certainly no pain. And i really enjoy it. I almost fall asleep most weeks that in so relaxed and there's always a massage combined and at the end which is nice too, so far I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. I had it to regulate my periods. On day 49 of my last cycle (which is usually 90 days) I had my first session, 6 days later I had a period. I'm now 4 sessions in so only time will tell if things are going to be more regular. Fx!

Give it a go!

MrsCrumbtious · 11/12/2014 20:38

Hi I'd love to join you ladies!

I'm 30 TTC baby #1 with hubby and believe my fertile window is next week. Hubby has been so tired/stressed with work we hadn't DTD much in the last few weeks, my sex drive is sky high but this k the cobwebs are starting to settle! Xx

MrsLowe14 · 11/12/2014 20:30

cant how do you find acupuncture? I'd love to try it but I'm too much of a wimp! Does it hurt?

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 11/12/2014 18:14

I'm due to test next monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Hmm seems like a LIFETIME away! But that's when I would be due my period if I had a regular cycle... My cycles are usually 90 days long tho so it's anyone's guess really. But according to my CM, I ovulated around the 7th which was CD18... So if anything happened this month, I should know by the 28th. Got a girls night out this weekend, so will be making the most of it JUST incase...

Haha, sounds exactly like me. I also have the chocolate craving before AF but mine are so rare it's hard to keep track. Your diary sounds good!

Just back from my acupuncture appointment, feeling lovely and relaxed. Had needles in my scalp and my feet today which was different but nice. I hope this works, costs a bloody fortune!

Tell me about it. MN has saved me so many times since starting ttc.

I really hope you get your BFP by Sunday! Make this a lucky thread.

booboobeedoo11 · 11/12/2014 12:26

cantbelieve are you due to test soon too? I def wont be testing again til at least sunday if she doesn't make an appearance! I'm not really sure what my AF symptoms are because I've never really been looking for them before now haha. Only ones I'm certain of are the week leading up to it I crave sweet stuff, could eat my own body weight in chocolate and I sometimes have a wee day or two of the psycho bitch syndrome! But anything I've been feeling this week I've just been thinking "oooh..maybe pregnancy related" (stupid cow that I am!). I would say since sunday/monday I've had really sore nipples, only nipples not boobs, noticed they were veiny as well, monday and tuesday I was feeling all watery mouthed and nauseous so much so on tuesday night I never really got a good sleep because of it and yesterday I was peeing like a racehorse! Also yesterday and today I've had a lot of creamy/sticky cm (sorry I should have gave a TMI warning!). Few mild cramps here and there yesterday and today. Probably noticed all these things because I'm over analysing everything this 2ww though. But I've not craved my usual chocolate binge at all and kinda lost my appetite since the nausea thing at the beginning of the week. Again....99% sure all of this is in my head! I think I'll start a wee diary this time and try get used to what my body does through the cycle. Why do we do this to ourselves!! I've not posted much and only signed up a week or two ago but its really good having a place to spout off and know there's other people in the same boat and frame of mind as yourself

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 11/12/2014 10:37

booboo what are we like?! Haha. Oh well. Shall we both hold off til Sunday and test again then? Do you have any symptoms for AF yet? Or anything unusual?

AngharadPM · 11/12/2014 09:27

Don't give up hope just yet, could just be a bit early for the test!

booboobeedoo11 · 11/12/2014 09:21

And here goes mine aswell! Think I'm due AF Sunday, couldnt stop myself from testing this morning.....BFN! Could honestly give myself a big slap!

AngharadPM · 10/12/2014 20:47

Just downloaded the Ovia app, here goes my sanity! :P

lastnightIwenttoManderley · 10/12/2014 20:33

I use ovuview 'cause I like the colours Afraid this is going to be my big wake up call that you can't plan everything in life!

booboobeedoo11 · 10/12/2014 20:17

Ooh I might need to get this app! I've only got fertility friend and only using it for cycle dates. If I'm out this month I can see me being even more over the top! In the grand scheme of things we've only been 'not not trying' for 4 cycles so I need to give myself a reality check!

BlueElephant11 · 10/12/2014 20:11

Yep!! Sounds just like me!! We agreed to 'see how it goes' for the first 6 months... one week in and my ovia app is looking very colouful!

I've never been very patient but it's nice to know I'm not the only one ;)

FX we get some BFP's soon!!

booboobeedoo11 · 10/12/2014 20:03

Ps..I must say its really good to be able to be a total desperado without the friends and family thinking you are a total nutter!

booboobeedoo11 · 10/12/2014 20:02

I conceived on microgynon too! Yip, mines the same, he def wants a baby I know that but he doesn't seem as desperate/anxious as me...but that's how he is with everything, just takes things in his stride where as I'm "I want it and it needs to be now and I will obsess over everything til I get it" haha.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 10/12/2014 19:58

manderley I was wondering where OP was too! Now that would be a miracle. You need to spice up your Christmas - call it a present to each other Wink

It just seems to take FOREVER doesn't it booboo - my OH knows the most of how bad I am but I think he just let's me have my way of dealing with it. He's pretty good in the most, I just wish he would just once be the one to start the conversation about it, just so I don't feel like I'm nagging. This was all his idea.. I always said no to kids after a failed relationship, which produced DD. But he talked me round. Now I literally live and breathe ttc while he lives and breathes football (as per) grr. So frustrating!!

I haven't been on the pill for 10 years blue - I conceived on microgynon! I had copper coil which I recommended to everyone... Until I wanted it out and it was stuck! 5 months of poking and prodding it took....

booboobeedoo11 · 10/12/2014 19:57

BlueElephant I was on the pill for around 15 yrs all in, about 10yrs there without a break. I stopped midway through a pack, had the normal end of pack bleed and straight back into a normal cycle in august, was expecting to have a no show from AF for a while but seems to have been pretty normal straight away. I'm the same with feeling every single little thing from then, not quite sure what it all means right enough lol. I could faintly see veins in my boobs last month but the last few days they seem more obvious and had really sensitive nipples too but then this month I'm actually trying to look for things so who knows! All other symptoms I'm having could easily be the arrival of the witch...its so confusing! And I don't do patience haha

BlueElephant11 · 10/12/2014 19:40

I'm also taking the Pregnacare preconception multivits! Started the day I stopped BC.

How did everybody else find coming off the pill?? I actually look pregnant at the moment... soooo bloated and wierd twinges in my side!! I don't think I've ever been so aware of what my body is up to!

lastnightIwenttoManderley · 10/12/2014 19:23

Did the actual OP ever return?!

booboobeedoo11 · 10/12/2014 19:12

cantbelieveimdoingthisagain Someone needs to confiscate mine too...too bloody tempting knowing they are there! I'm trying to hold off a few days, AF should be due sunday I think though so I could be tempted to try in tomorrow morning..really wish I could wait but I'm becoming obsessed. Not letting on to my OH that I'm a crazy symptom spotter, he thinks I'm all cool and calm haha. If I'm out this month I'm gona try maximise my chances for January so any tips on that would be welcome! How do you know when you ovulate without using opk's? I've never noticed any changes but then again I haven't been looking for them before now. When I found out I was pregnant with my son I was 18wks (was on the pill and continued having periods!) so I dont really know early pregnancy symptoms either apart from what my old pal google tells me haha.

lastnightIwenttoManderley · 10/12/2014 19:10

can't would be an interesting twist, that's for sure! Chances are slim to none - without making us sound like utter losers DH and I have been crazily busy at work recently, one with a new job and the other with a long commute, and haven't actually DTD since last AF Blush Roll on the Christmas break! Wink

DandelionWishes88 · 10/12/2014 18:41

Hi ladies
Im new to ttc and to mumsnet. I stopped taking bc on the 8th of October was on it for 10 years. With no AF whilst on it and now no AF still. So dont know when I'm ovulating. I haven't tried ovulation sticks but I am taking folic acid getting frustrated at waiting for my body to get back to normal. Any advice will be helpful its just nice to talk! Good luck ladies xxx

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 10/12/2014 18:35

boyle it's probably best to navigate away from obsessive ovulation checking to begin with it because it can ruin the whole process for you! Maybe just track your CM as that's a pretty good indicator, helps you get to know your body and is free!! I only got so obsessed with mine as I know I have ovulation issues. Also I take pregnacare conception. There are cheaper variations but the brand have helped my OH with his fertility issues, so I'm sticking with them. If definitely rate them!

manderlay have you poas yet? Could be that you are already pregnant?!

booboo our circumstances are very similar and both in 2ww! Exciting!!

One of you also needs to come confiscate my sticks - just got a BFN - but I'm aaaaaaggggeeeessssd away from the real testing day!!!!! What was I expecting?!
