Looking for a TTC buddy!

Well it's New Year's Eve and the hubby and I have really made a big effort with ttc over Christmas. Really hope we get a BFP early January. Can't help but feel a bit down tonight as I think about how much I want us to have a baby. Anyone feeling the same?

Oh manderley so sorry to hear your news... Let's hope that your wonderful memories help to create the most amazing child that you can pass on your grandpas wisdom on to... As and when you and oh are fully ready. Important to he there for your mum!!!

boyle sorry to hear flo turned up! She packed her bags from here yesterday, and according to ff, I ov'd on day 20 in a 33 day cycle. Next fertile window is 17-20th jan. OH & I had big chat before Xmas and I got a few things off my chest. We have new lease of life and have been at it like rabbits again since she left so hoping this will be our lucky month! However, he did buy me a trip to Amsterdam for our anniversary (not wedding, just relationship) which is March 10th ... Not ideal to be ill and abroad but we have agreed to keep trying and if we are lucky but I'm unwell, then we will just take each day as it comes!

What an absolute awful time you've been having. Nothing that anybody could say to make you feel remotely better but take comfort in the fact that he didn't suffer too long and was very proud to have helped you to become what you are. Sending lots of unmumsnetty hugs your way. Perhaps may but be the best time to start. The upset and stress may effect your body and cycle, therefore causing unnecessary worry if it doesn't happen right away xx

Can't that muat have been difficult, I can only imagine how hard it can be not to resent someone for something out of their control. Sounds like you did the best you could given the circumstances?
We've had an awful Christmas really. My grandfather slipped and broke his hip last week and got taken into hospital. We had a call on Christmas eve to say he'd died in the night. Can't even begin to explain how devastated I am. He was an incredible man - so intelligent and kind. He was the only one of my grandparents who properly 'got' me and was one of my inspirations in getting to where I am today in my career - I won a national industry award recently and they did a video about my career and he even managed to pop up in that. He was such a character and it all happened so suddenly. A part of me is grateful that this was the case, as I'd have hated to see him decline mentally and physically (he was very spritely!). At Yeh same time I feel like I never got to say goodbye. That same career I'd worked so hard in was part of the reason why I was always putting off visiting him (he lived abroad, a 3hr flight away). I introduced him to Skype recently so at least I got to chat to him a few weeks back.
I'm also worried about my mum who separated from my dad a couple of years ago (he's now engaged to OW) and so is having to deal with this alone. She's such a kind, generous person and it breaks my heart to think of everything she's having to cope with.
I feel like such an oddball on this thread, first I'm happy for a bfn, now I'm outpouring what I can't vocalise. Promise to be more positive in the future. Ironically this was going to be our first month tcc but not really in the mood for it now.

Merry christmas all... Aunt Flo came here at lunchtime yesterday! Wonderful christmas cramps.

Hope the prosecco helped relieve the pain can't!! I'm glad I could drink... Parents bought round 3 bottles of pink moet to celebrate with us! Delicious!

Mrs Lowe-with you totally on the cheese in great quantities definitely, I love it. Dh and I are having a cheese board with a ham hock terrine tonight (cooking now)! Excited muchly. Loving the amount of nookie you're having! He'll have a shock when you get caught and are too tired for it.

Can't-tell Aunt Flo to piss off and come back in 9 months or so! Hate when people assume you must be trying or at least pregnant already... We've had that since wedding in August 2013.

So I poas this am... Bfn!!! Feeling anxious and no signs of af yet... Less sick today but weeing loads. Due tomorrow. Might do another tomorrow am and christmas morning and if still bfn at least I can relax and have a drink?!

So sleepy again today!

Oh and I forgot to mention - I am quite certain that Aunt Flo is on her way to spend Christmas with us, inconsiderate bitch. Had a bit of back ache last night and is getting increasingly worse today - that's my only major tell tale sign. Although I should be grateful as it appears that acupuncture is working. I am on CD34 so that would be an incredibly short cycle for me... I will begrudgingly be pleased!

Frozen in amazing, although a 9 year old DD can certainly lead you to almost screaming 'LET IT GOOOOOOOOOO' Holiday is also a fab film. I watched Gone Girl last night..... - scared the living daylights out of me. Highly recommended if you like a brain boggler! And Ben Affleck is looking mighty fine - how come only famous men get better with age??

manderley I feel your pain - OH is quite baby faced and sometimes grows this half effort moustache beard thing. I swear he looks like he should be arrested! Don't like it at all.

Came up to bed last night and DH has shaved half of his lovely beard off. He is now left with just a moustache... He thinks it makes him look distinguished, I think it makes him look like my dad circa 1986. This is not good for the libido! (imagine David Tennant with a tache). Agh!

Your poor hubby can't! Bet he's shattered haha. Your christmas trolley sounds amazing. Dh and I decided to have date night tonight... Fully loaded with soft cheese and wine. I started eating and drinking and ended up having a hot flush and feeling too sick to finish my meal!!! So hope I get a bfp tomorrow because if I don't I'm going docs. Got to be something wrong if I can't finish a glass of wine!!

Wrapped all my presents today whilst watching the holiday followed by frozen! Loved it! Fully getting in christmas spirit now :).

Well I know I'm out out this month. Achy boobs have gone but still no AF, was hoping acupuncture would have got me a 28 day cycle this month but no sign yet. Skin is playing up a bit but that's it. Soooooo, I did my Christmas shop yesterday, trolley was overflowing with soft cheese & nuts. Had loads of free booze from our subbies at work, so will be getting through that over the next few weeks. Went on my Christmas do last night and drunk plenty of malibu and southern comfort I think I smell like an alchy at my desk today

I swear my libido is all wrong - completely non fertile atm - dtd 5 times over the past 4 days. I think OH thinks there's something wrong.. why do I want it all the time when there's no EWCM! What has it come to?

So I'm all spent out, everything is giftwrapped, forgot bacon and a profiterole gateaux so wil get those this eve. then I am ready for the big fat man to tip toe into my bedroom on Wednesday night wonder if he fancies giving me a BFP

Hi Ladies...how are we all? I've just finished the last of my Christmas shopping (hopefully!) and according to FF should ve coming up to my most fertile days the next few days so fingers crossed I can enjoy the next few days and have some fun trying for a bfp in January!

I've just got a digi thermometer and I use FF and Ovia because it looks pretty but I sleep quite erratically so tempting at the same time each day is difficult, they've varied by about an hour which doesn't help.

I got an acute sense of smell, I remember my husband driving past somewhere and they must have been spreading manure (well, I swear they were!) and I promptly threw up in the footwell of the car!

My other two were surprises! I was 17 when I got pregnant with my oldest and being a responsible teenager was not taking my pill properly and my youngest was a complete surprise as I was on the depo! I'd got my months mixed up so I was late having it I am generally responsible honest lol and I just knew straight away, I did a test and it was negative but I knew it was wrong despite having no symptoms or even having a period. I tested again on Christmas eve 2008 and it was positive! We'd talked about what we wanted etc previously obviously but this is the first time we've actually decided to properly ttc.

mrslowe what do you use to check your temperature? I've not charted anything this month but think I will next month if unsuccessful. Thanks for vote of confidence... I have felt strange today, doing my big christmas clean and the smell of the Polish has turned my stomach a couple of times?!

How long did it take for you to get caught with other children?!

Doesn't mean you're out yet Boyle I remember when I got pregnant with DS2 doing the test and thinking "really? But I feel fine!" And I did, until I was 6-7 weeks and then I vomited practically every hour for the next 7 months lol! It's still early as well so plenty of time for that BFP!

My FF chart has changed this morning to say I ovuated on the 15th, which means the dates would add up but I feel very un-ovulatey so I think it's lying lol

Hope everyone ok? Feeling incredibly unpregnant today... My boobs have stopped hurting as much and I've been much less tired. Also had a bfn but intend to now wait until Wednesday when af is actually due.

Felt incredibly nauseous today but think that could have been excessive cheese last night.

Got another negative OPK this morning. A bit fed up with it :( my stupid temp chart doesn't make sense, if anything it looks like I ovulated on CD6 and had an implantation dip CD11, which in sure is wrong lol! I'm broken, I'm debating a DNA test on my other two as I'm starting to think I don't have ovaries haha

Same. But hey can't change the past, we'll get our BFPs next month, be a perfect start to the new year!
10 days isn't so bad rosey and you may find your cycle is delayed a little!
Glad your ovaries didn't decide to just take the month off after haha x
