Update on complaints meeting.
The hospital admit they should offer scanning but don't have the staff or facilities currently. We should have been informed of the wait. We should have not been told to go back to a and e on Monday - they should have got us an appointment either there or another hospital. New staff not knowing protocols. Poor excuse. They say they are making improvements. I hope I never have to see if they do.

northdownmummy · 18/12/2014 11:17

amy and stocking your in good company with the extra weight. I put on about a stone while pregnant then probably another one in the 4 months since mc. I'd lost a lot of weight on 2013 so have been thinking about why I've struggled so much to get this under control.
Comfort eating is a big part but I've realised there's something a bit deeper going on with me. While pregnant and breastfeeding I was brilliant about my diet, so that was 18 months. Then I did slimming world to lose 3+stone.

If I don't have a baby in my belly then I'm damned well going to have all the lovely things I've been denying myself for the past 3years

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 11:16

I'd go for it gr33dy, my DH and his brother are exactly 5 years apart but they are incredibly close.

Gr33dyeggs · 18/12/2014 11:15

Morning all. The age gap bothered me too. I always wanted more than 1 child as I have found being an only one lonely. Initially we wanted close ages but due to DS poor sleeping and financial uncertainties we put it off. Felt we could manage now and despite OH never being bothered about another he had finally agreed to TTC. There will be nearly 7 years the way its going and I'm wavering again now as to whether it is the right thing to do.

amyyy glad you have a valid excuse not to exercise now!

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 11:14

Water infection Amyyy?
That'll get you out of 7 days drinking.

I'm doing ok, lost a stone since the start of the year but I am overweight so need to lose another stone really. That's for next year though!

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:57

By 'get around' I mean explaining why I'm not drinking! (worded badly sorry!)

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:56

Stocking I'm a stone over too! And I still needed to lose more weight then! I'm hoping I can worry about weight after I have a healthy pregnancy.. I'm not too much overweight, although it would be nice to be in the best health for getting pg!

Luckily my OH has just told me my MIL has arranged a meal for the family for after I finish work tomorrow so that rules me out of metafit anyway! :) So the only thing to worry about now is how to get around 'no drinking' over Christmas starting from Saturday! Hmm..

StockingFullOfCoal · 18/12/2014 10:49

snoopy Thats got to be the best Christmas present he's ever given - totally free and he gets to have lots of sex! Xmas Grin

amy I'm currently about a stone over what I usually am, don't like it but I just have zero motivation! I want to get back into my Pilates DVDs to build core strength back up.

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 10:43

Snoopy it could be that.
I use the cb digi opks and haven't had any trouble despite drinking a lot of water.

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:42

Sorry Snoopy I have no idea about OPKs so can't help there :(

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:41

Thanks everyone. I also read that you can continue any regular exercise you are used to. However, I was so down in the dumps after mc I did nothing but comfort eat and I have piled the weight on! I went to metafit on Saturday morning and I felt so unfit. I'm just going to cancel, I'm sure my friend will understand. I'd rather not have an extra 'what if' if things go down the same route as last time iykwim.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 18/12/2014 10:10

Sorry pressed post too soon.

I'm using ovia and glow and they both reckon I'm fertile now, had a bit of ewcm. I stopped spotting a week ago and we've dtd seven times Grin I told DH all I want for Christmas is a baby so he's trying his best!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 18/12/2014 10:08

Amy, I would like to say I would go to the gym but I understand your concern. Miscarriage makes you so paranoid.

Well I was researching cheapie opks and some women were saying they had to not drink too many fluids, refrain from urinating for four hours and sometimes test twice a day to really pick up their LH surge! This simply isn't practical for me. Added to that they say don't use first morning urine and don't drink caffeinated drinks!

Do you think this is why even my control line is never very dark?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/12/2014 09:47

I would go (unless you are not used to exercising like that, in which case now might not be the best time to start).
All advice I've read is that you can carry on with anything you've been doing before which is why I kept cycling both pregnancies (including the one which worked).
If your are pregnant and it is a sticky one which is planning to develop normally, I don't think there is any way in the world an exercise class is going to change that.

StockingFullOfCoal · 18/12/2014 09:39

I'd like to say I would go but I'm certain I wouldn't.

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 09:20

Chasing sending you my love its been a rough ride for you. Pleased you can have a fresh start now though xx

Well a girl who announced her pg the same weekend we should have been had on facebook about her countdown til her 20w scan :( Mine should have been in the first week of January. Can't believe how quickly its gone, it doesn't seem right :/

Anyway I came on to ask opinions although I think I know what they will be! Basically, me and a close friend who knows we are ttc and she is ttc also (without having a mc), we have started up at the gym again which we used to go to all the time before I got pg, now we've just started again and are due to go to a high intensity exercise class (metafit) on Friday afternoon, but I don't know if I should go due to 2ww? My OH said to go as its so early and not even a definite we are pregnant, but after mc I'm so wary of everything. I think I will end up not going, but would like to hear other's thoughts?

StockingFullOfCoal · 18/12/2014 09:20

But DDs are very close and often co sleep with each other rather than in their own beds. They also torment the heck out of each other

StockingFullOfCoal · 18/12/2014 09:18

The only thing I wanted age gap wise with DH was to not have a newborn whilst I'm doing three school runs a day: 8:30 drop off, leave again at 11:40 to collect DD3 from Nursery and again at 3pm to collect DD6 from school. Obviously plenty of women do it but I didn't want to, and tbh, by the time we'd decided to have the coil removed in Oct, the earliest I would have been due was late July and DH would have done the school runs whilst off work.

2.5 years between my DDs was incredibly hard work, I kicked my ex out when youngest was 7 weeks old (he'd left them in the house alone for 20 mins Shock whilst I spent 2 hours with a devastated close friend whose husband had left her for a teenager - first time I'd spent any time alone without DDs - he was also a cheater and a gambler but putting the kids in danger was the final nail in the coffin) had just gotten used to life on benefits (previous had 35k a year coming in) when I was evicted due to LL wanting to move back in so had no choice but to go to the council in my hometown and move with a 2YO and a 6MO in tow.

Age gaps don't bother DH as his eldest DS has just turned 12.

chasingtherainbow · 18/12/2014 08:21

Unfortunately June - sept is a v. Busy time for babies. It will be hard.. like you guys, I know several people due on or around our should have been due date.

With mu SIL I was thinking "aslong as i'm pregnant before neice/nephew birth" (and our dd) .... but as the methotrexate doesn't run out until February, I'll be at "crucial" scan time at that point. If I mc again while celebrating their new arrival I think it'll finish me off.

Thanks for asking Amyy physically I'm doing ok now. On my first period now and starting prenatals. Emotionally I just do my best to keep a brave face x

For those of you wondering about age gaps, I am the eldest of 5 girls with the following gaps between me and them: 2.5 years, 5.3 years and 10 years (my youngest sisters are identical twins and their father is my Mums second husband) and we are all close. The teenagers provide me with lots of laughs and I live vicariously through them in no way do I encourage them to do stupid stuff Xmas Grin I also have a step sister 7 years older than me that I met aged 8 and 20 years on we are still very close too. I have different dynamics with all of them but the base line is we love each other very much. The teens are the sort of teen I would have avoided at that age because I was a miserable goff and they're fake tanned hair/nail extenstioned screeching harpies but very entertaining.

chasingtherainbow · 18/12/2014 08:14
