As far as I know you can't overdose on folic acid, it is water soluble so you just pee it out. Obviously don't go crazy though!

Also with regards to taking it months in advance, I wouldn't panic. Before the nineties, women didn't take it at all and our previous survived! Folic acid is taken to prevent an rare spinal development problem and former have anything to do with early miscarriage. As fast as I'm aware.

Newera, you without a doubt have a fertilised eggy in there. AFAIK the only false positives possible are ones caused by medication or illness (like certain types of cancer) or evap line's, which will show no pink.

I believe that nic you too have a little bean in there, but if the digis aren't picking up yet it's just because it's too early/hcg isn't high enough. Clearblue digi have a higher mui and so it can take a while to show. Don't panic yet.

Nic It's possible yours is just down to the pink dye not being strong in the new ones.

They are only the cheap ones asdas own , it came up straight away! Just odd as I have used the same tests, no my ov days are correct, I had a (sorry for graphic info) but a small about of brown discharge 9 days past ov only lasted a day and has now gone and was wondering if that was implantation bleeding, that was the day I tested x

chasing I'm no expert but they talk about 5g being good for women with various issues. That is considered a high dose. 400mcg is the amount in most folic acid suuplements, i think you can get the 5mg tablet from the doctor. I think taking two tablets a day would be absolutely fine.

Argh i have less than great news after my fanfare earlier. Excitedly went out and got a twin pack of Clearblue digital tests with weeks indicator. Held my wee for a few hours, came home and it told me 'Not Pregnant'. So i have no idea. Could be too early or I suppose the Tesco test was faulty, I'm sure false positives are possible. Its so fucking clear as well on the Tesco test, almost suspiciously strong a line seeing as I am so early.

I don't think i'm going to waste the test by testing tomorrow, AF is due on Christmas Day so i shall see if she turns up. Sorry for getting every one excited Blush

I can definitely see it, and it's definitely pinky. Did it come up in the time frame? Do you know what mui these are? Perhaps use a FRer? Don't bother with a digi yet as they are 25mui and if your getting bfn then your hcg isn't high enough for them.

Is it possible you got ov day wrong? Xx

Hi chasingtherainbow I've used asdas own brand always had negatives with these apart from the BFP a few days ago, I'm 2weeks past ovulation and due Christmas Day, ano it was very early to test but get a little bit obsessive these days. Xx

Newera you've just reminded me a Q I needed to ask- I've got folic acid tablets but the methotrexate has obviously completely stripped every last bit of folic my body had. I'm hoping to fall preg Feb cycle and don't feel like it's "enough" and that I might just mc again. Can you overdose on folic? Should I just take 2? It says 1 is RDA. I'm aware that with folic any unabsorbed will just be expelled by body.

Nic.. which tests have you used and what dpo?

Thank you. I'm not going to believe it till I miss a period but just trying to work out what to do now.

Think I'm going to take 75mg aspirin a day and high dose folic acid still. Hopefully Brummie might see this and tell me what she is taking. I'm trying not to freak out but I'm scared.

Weirdly my gut feels they would have been a little girl. I thought about naming but for some reason I didn't like that so my baby is a star and that what I think/imagine/resonate with. If that makes sense.

snoopy I said the same thing to DP about wanting to know the gender. I always say 'the baby' not 'it'. I hate 'it', so impersonal and not how I feel about my baby.

Having read your posts I couldn't imagine going through your experiences and it makes me feel more grateful I had an erpc, even if the hospital were crap.

I got upset watching eastenders last night, that should have been me walking around with a copy of my scan by now.

I said to DH that the hardest thing for me recently has been having to refer to the lost little one as 'it' because we will never know if they were a boy or girl. Our child wasn't an 'it' to us.

I think I might be entering the 2ww now, but who knows?!Hmm
