Hey guys,
So after what I thought was a positive result back in December was in fact negative, got my period 33 days in ... Bad cramps never had them as bad, potentially I think another missed miscarriage ... Hopefully my fingers are crossed this month for all of us, I'm 29 days in now (biting my nails) xx

chasingtherainbow · 05/01/2015 21:12

Can't believe it's new thread time already! I'll definitely stick around and lurk.. help where I can.

My dd told me her great grandad (also a star) is looking after bean. . . I'm not usually into that sort of thing but for some reason it's bought me great peace.

We're chatting so much we've nearly filled up this thread. I've set a new one up here

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/01/2015 17:39

They never ever seem to offer erpc but you can have one for a small amount of tissue left- I did. I really had to fight for it though. They initially presented the information as if it would be medically impossible to perform due to only a few cm left but then I spoke to a consultant who told me she would recommend the Erpc. The reason they didn't initially is simply because the procedure is more expensive than natural or medical and there are some tiny socketed risks with general anaesthetic.
I am a big fan of the NHS and it has recently saved my dad's life. But I think it is a fucking joke that women in such a vulnerable position are just pushed out the door and not presented properly with their options.
epskie it would be entirely possible to perform the erpc it's just a question of whether you want it- which is dependent on how you feel emotionally and physically and whether it is worth the (very small) associated risks, in addition to the risk of continuing with natural or medical management.
Sorry you are still going through this. It is so awful when it is prolonged.

cremedecacao · 05/01/2015 17:30

Epskie, everyone is different but I didn't have much pain with my medical management so as you don't have much left to pass it should be over quickly. My medical management took a week to get all the products out so I know what you mean about wanting it all to be over. It will be soon Flowers

epskie · 05/01/2015 17:29

Yes, I have 2 boys - 14 and 8. They are thick as thieves.

Guy and Fifi - I'm a little disappointed in their treatment of me too. I had nothing explained to me and the doctor seemed almost cross with me! Perhaps I wasn't offered an erpc if there was only a small amount of tissue remaining? Xx

fififolle · 05/01/2015 17:10

Guy the Misoprostol which epskie has been given is the drug that they give for medical management. I completely agree that the options should have been fully discussed, it's such a hard thing to be going through.

Bumblepops19 · 05/01/2015 17:10

hi guy it started out as a normal conversation and then escalated. Nothing horrible was said just me being selfish listening to hormones not him!

I think I'm just going to keep it quiet let the dust settle and try again in a few months. :(

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/01/2015 17:00

epskie your situation males new a bit cross. A mc is a huge thing to go through and you should have been clearly presented with your options. At this stage, an option should be surgery as there is a risk of infection the longer it goes on. I don't know what drug you've been given- could it be something to medically induced your uterus to contact to expel the rest of the tissue? The doctor really should have made the process and the risks absolutely clear. Can you give them a call to clarify?

bumble I would have the conception conversation again but when you're not arguing! Tell him how you feel.

fififolle · 05/01/2015 16:43

epskie I had retained tissue after medical management in October. I had my scan on the Friday and had an ERPC on the Monday as I just wanted it all to be over with.
Stocking we're looking at a 5.5yr age gap, I'd have preferred a smaller gap but DH took a bit of persuading for #2.

Bumblepops19 · 05/01/2015 16:41

Hi ladies

Same thing as chasing after having a row with DP he told me that we are not ttc and he won't actively help until 2017 unless circumstances change. Confused Angry

Don't want to be off With him but it's hard to be nice when all your body is telli you is to get a sticky bean :( he thinks getting a dog will take my mind of it.. Here's hoping

Sending big hugs to all of you lovely ladies x

Gr33dyeggs · 05/01/2015 16:36

guy I had similar with my 1st af.

epskie do you have children younger than your 14 year old?

I must say we're enjoying the spontaneity of unprotected sex atm so will give it a couple more months. But prepare for possibility DS will be an only one.

StockingFullOfCoal · 05/01/2015 16:13

Guy My periods do that. Heavy for 1-3 days, ease off to spotting for a day then go back to a medium flow. Its bizarre!

epskie · 05/01/2015 14:24

Gr33dy my eldest is 14 :-)

Been for scan and still some tissue remaining :-( I've been sent home with Misprostol (I think that's right) Has anybody any experience of this? Doctor was rather brusque and didn't tell me what to expect. Many Thanks xx

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/01/2015 14:15

Still on my first period after erpc. It started on the 1st and was very heavy for 3 days. Then yesterday I woke up and it had stopped completely. It's come back just now! Not really heavy, just moderate. Is this strange? As I got pg first cycle off the pill, I can't actually remember what a normal period is like anyway.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/01/2015 11:41

chasing I hope there might be done relief for you at having made a decision.
Has anyone heard from snoopy?

StockingFullOfCoal · 05/01/2015 09:23

X Post there.

chasing Flowers Please check in with us once in a while, you lovely lady. I'm feeling much the same myself with the persistent infections and general feeling like a bag of crap, hence discussion with DH this weekend coming up. Sigh. Ultimately you just have to do whatever is right for you, you right now.

StockingFullOfCoal · 05/01/2015 09:20

Thanks guy It doesn't help that DH and I can't discuss it. He skirts around the subject but I'm planning to sit down with him this weekend when my DDs are at their Dads and force a conversation, which I'm not looking forward to, but it has to be done because we have to be on the same page with this or it won't work.

greedy What is the age gap? I would have preferred TTC immediately after the wedding in Aug 2013 when my youngest DD was 2.5 years but DH wasn't ready till Oct 2014. Now we're looking at a 5 year age gap between my youngest and a baby, and 7.5 years between my eldest and a baby. Not sure how I feel about it tbh. I have stated to DH that should he want 2 kids I'd only be willing if he would agree to a small age gap (have always wanted 4 kids) around the 1.5-2 year age gap.

Gr33dyeggs · 05/01/2015 09:15

He's 6 next week and I'm 35 next with OH 45.

chasingtherainbow · 05/01/2015 09:14

After much thought, I've realised that I am finding dd alot of work right now..I'm stressed and my weight has me very depressed. I think ttc while I'm getting such poor sleep etc is a bad idea. I have huge regrets and wish I'd ttc when dd was under a year. Now she needs me even more with school looming and I can't see me holding onto a sticky bean with such awful sleep. I want to be mentally healthy and gave a deep fear I might get PND.

So.. We are no longer ttc.

Thank you for your support guys. I wish you all the very very best. X

epskie · 05/01/2015 08:46

Ah so sorry gr33dy, that's crap. What is the age gap? X

Gr33dyeggs · 05/01/2015 08:41

Not sure cremedecaco sorry. Our bodies take a real knock with mc.
epskie thats rubbish for you today..

Well AF got me a day late and I have stomach cramps and feel sick. Great. I think I can only give ttc a couple more cycles. Can't cope with the disappointment and forever increasing age of me and age gap of children.

epskie · 05/01/2015 07:07

Thoughts with everybody who is feeling blue today xx
I feel really sad today. It should've been my dating scan but instead I'm going to be scanned for remaining tissue :-( this empty feeling is awful xx
Hope this week is a better one for all of us xx

cremedecacao · 05/01/2015 00:12

Sending love to everyone who is trying and everyone who is recovering from MC.

Desperate to TTC after having medical management for a missed miscarriage 16 days ago.

4 days ago I had lots of EWCM, but ovulation test came up negative. We have been DTD loads over the last week (as soon as I stopped bleeding). Could this have still been ovulation?

My boobs have been super sore the last two days and I've felt run down- exactly as I was before I knew I was pregnant last time, but I know it would be way too early to have symptoms anyway :(

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 04/01/2015 21:19

Oh stocking. Sending you a big hug. There is no hurry to make a decision about ttc again. Get your strength back first if you need to and then think about it later.
