pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 17:55

Hiya wannabe, nice to hear from you sweetie.
On this afternoons tea menu we have: hot buttered crumpets & homemade jam, warm banana bread, hot chocolate and of course plenty of tea in the pot.
I think this is the nicest sofa on mn!
Have we got removable covers? ((pusscat on hands and knees checks for care label)) Hell, what does it matter, we can have a new one next month!
Oh the decadence!!
yes i am obviously feeling a bit better, too much time on my hands.......
wannabe, you never know, not counting the days might be just what you need right now. Good luck with the viewing by the way, hope they like it!
xxx

wannaBe1974 · 10/10/2006 17:07

hiya all can I drop in?

Pussycat what's for tea? lol. Glad you're feeling better, I'm guessing you must be if you've managed to bd twice already. Am keeping everything crossed that things will happen for you soon (((hugs))) How's your sister doing - is she going to attempt another cycle of IVF? I'm guessing she must still have some frozen embrios left?

Natty sorry to hear about af, here's hoping the ovarian drilling (it sounds like something that should be happening on an oil rig doesn't it) goes well and that you get your baby soon.

Coggy how's things with you? Am hoping for you that you get your bfp between now and Christmas and won't have to go ahead with those three unmentionable letters

Hope everyone else is doing ok .

Have not gone back on the pill this month but that was cause my packs were out of date so I need to get a prescription. But am not counting days or anything. But things aren't helped by the fact my mother came round the other day and was asking my ds whether he would like mummy to have another baby one day. She knows full well we've been having problems conceiving, ever the sensitive one, not.

We have someone coming for a second viewing on the house tonight, they haven't sold theirs yet but apparently his father might buy it for them anyway - daddy must be minted, lol.

pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 14:37

pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 13:34

hi - glad you all enjoyed the breakfast
natty, i have heard little about the success rates after drilling so your post really meant something to me. Thanx...
wuzz, yup, we are all rooting for trace this time, we knew from v. begining. Lets everyone keep their fingers crossed this is S-T-I-C-K-Y for her. How are you doing anyway wuzz? how long, do you know sex, everything ok etc etc?
xx

Natty1806 · 10/10/2006 13:08

SOL - time is flying be you will be happy when you get past the first trimester.

PCM - have heard good things about ovarian drilling so it should really have helped you and removing the cyst the size of the orange. Now those eggs will be popping out every month ready to get hit by 1 sperm.

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 13:06

hi ladies, just wanted to put a quick post on here to 1, wish you all well with ttc and 2, see if any of you have spotted trace's thread on the pregnancy board?

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2006 13:00

Hiya ladies, I could murder a danish pastry!
I am 11 weeks and 3 days today, so getting through the first trimester thank God.
Sorry to hear about your af Natty, and Pusscat, I am glad you are beginning to feel a bit better.
Hope everyone else is well. Fingers crossed four you all. See you later for afternoon tea!! xx

pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 10:50

ahh yes thought it was yourself who was having drilling, but there are other nats/natalies/nattys on ttc boards and i just wanted to check.
Tbh, i knew v.little about pcos before (v.)recent diagnosis. All 3 times by bloods have shown no ovulation but am to say i dont know the exact levels of either fsh or lh, only told lh was consistently high. Was given poss diag over phone after 3rd lot of bloods! it was i who asked for a scan, they seemed happy to confirm without this. However scan showed typical "ring of pearls" (though i thought it looked like frogspawn) but on the right side only. On left were larger cysts (and my orange which i was told was not directly related to the pcos. However since chatting to others on mn and internet research, i think metformin is given to stabilise (or reduce?) insulin levels, all related to blood sugar i think, but not sure how this helps with ovulation?
It is only when i try to discuss it these questions come up and i realise how badly informed i am, with a condition i know little about, and maybe should educate myself a bit more...
Thing is, when drs tell you one thing, when you are on the start of this awful journey, i do tend to take their word for it, maybe i should start to question things a bit more. But tbh, gyny did seem v. positive in terms of the drilling, and only mentioned fertility drugs briefly saying he wanted to see how i get on and that hopefully i should "achieve pregnancy in next 6 months".
Who knows? sorry for the long ramble.

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 10/10/2006 10:01

Yeah i am due to have ovarian drilling i have only got slight PO so am okay on clomid and just got my blood results and pregestrone level was 66 which is really good.

my fsh and Lh levels were fine on inital blood test so it was only the scan they confirmed slight PO.

Don't they normally give you metor (sp?) if you have PCOS?

pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 09:47

btw, sorry about af sweetie.

OP posts:
pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 09:47

hiya natty, you're welcome for the brekkie, much better than rw!
Can i ask, was it yourself who is waiting for ovarian drilling? do you have pcos diagnosis?
my lh levels were deemed too high, im wondering if i will eventually be given clomid? i thought its job was to boost flagging lh, and that if you had high lh it was sometimes unsuitable. Gosh its all so complicated isnt it.

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 10/10/2006 09:26

Hi PCM - Af arrived today for me, am on clomid. So onto to second cyle with clomid. Glad you starting to feel better am sure we will all get the babies we deserve one day.

pussycatmomma · 10/10/2006 08:54

morning all.......
There doesnt seem to be much activity on this thread! i suspect ou are all off discussing your temp charts (sniff! dont think i havent noticed the 140odd posts on your software thread, sob!)
Well dont forget about the non-technical among us will you!
sol, sorry about your bleed but heart melting at thought of a hand waving (your babys hand! inside, grown all by yourself!!)How many weeks are you now?
What cd everyone on? me and dh now managed it twice now. Am trying not to be too hopeful, im sure it will take a while for my cycle to settle after jig.pok'ry but it is very difficult to keep myself contained. Trying to remind myself that it could well not happen at all but somehow that thought is difficult to properly consider.
Coggy how are you? I know you said you were going to be starting iui in jan, but until then, do drs think there is still a chance for you to concieve "naturally"? Are you taking clomid? i forget, sorry. I know trace was on clomid but not sure if anyone else on this thread is recieving treatment at the moment? a reminder would be great. Sorry to be such a cloth ears.
Have been trying to be up and about for last couple of days, and also trying to reduce painkillers. Am really suprised at how long it is taking for me to "get over" this, but i suppose everyone is different.
((((hugs to all)))
By the way, did you know if you post before 9.00 on this thread you can have your breakfast here too? online breakfast! There are lots of cerials, yoghurts, juice and coffee/tea over on the sideboard.....some danish pastries on the right for anyone in need
(pusscat is proud of her domestic organisation this morning, making up for being so crap in real life!)
xxxxxxxxxx

Oh dear BooBoo.....that means I need to stop drinking then!!!!!

SOL......how exciting seeing a wave!!!!!

Juicy......I'll put that info on for you now.
X

Natty1806 · 09/10/2006 18:04

Glad everything is okay SOL - how many weeks are you now?

Sexonlegs · 09/10/2006 14:26

Room for a small but growing by the minute one?
How lovely to see you all again.
Lovely sofa by the way - most chic.
So, everyone ok?
Things ok here. Had a scan today as had a bit of bleeding, and all ok - saw the little bod waving!
Anyway, need to pretend to do some work, but big hugs to everyone.
BTW Pusscat, both times I have conceived I have been pretty inebriated. DD was conceived after drinking several orange bacardi breezers, and this one after a fair few g & t's! I think it just relaxes everything, and makes you forget momentarily, that you are having sex, and not just trying to make a baby.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 09/10/2006 11:08

Sorry coggy: I am Booboo - with scary Halloween name.

I play the piano too! At the moment it's mainly show-tunes (the nature of my job, I'm afraid).

Good idea to have a nice Christmas before IUI. We're starting building-work in Jan for the same reason.

btw PCM, I've read in a couple of places that women trying for their first are more likely to conceive more quickly if they drink moderately (up to 8 units a week) than if they don't drink at all.

For some strange reason, though, that's not true if you're trying for your second/third - then it's quicker if you don't drink.

Strange, eh?

Juicylucythe2nd · 09/10/2006 10:56

...comes running back from scarry hm thread to comfort of sofa...

I know that feeling well PCM. Sort of promoting this Que sera sera image, but really inside switching from desperation to anxious hoping and at the same time telling yourself to RELAX in a very unrelaxed sort of way.

I unbelievably still managed to get pg despite all that, so there is definately hope for all!!!

Thought I was going to throw up a minute ago, and for obxious reasons it made me really happy - what a bizarre world we live in

pussycatmomma · 09/10/2006 10:11

no, not stronger stuff j/luce, of that im sure. Prob just ultra paranoid and very self blaming.......as in, "if i dont get prg now then it will surely be my fault, something i am doing wrong. I will be at fault somehow"
Oh you know how it is. If someone said design a rocket and fly to the moon and back, then you'll get preg, id damn well have a go.
I think "desperate but putting on brave face" just about sums me up.
