Hi Coco, I'm a newbie on the thread so I don't remember you from before. i don't have any experience with implantation bleeds sorry, so can't help you there. What's all this about a monkey?!

Nelly, I can't imagine how nervous you must feel. Period type cramps are very common in early pregnancy so I don't think that's anything to worry about too much. I'm really hopeful that it will be good news for you tomorrow.

Welcome chunder. The 12 month mark is hard as is deciding whether or not to share with people that you're struggling. I have told my family as I had a miscarriage around the 12 month mark and after that I just knew I wouldn't be able to keep it together if anyone asked me if we were planning on having kids. It definitely stops people asking those sorts of questions but it's not always great to have everyone know your business.

Sorry fluffy, I've not done IVF so can't offer any advic. I'd give the clinic a quick call and ask them to confirm for your peace of mind.

hi chunder! I had my fc appointment in aug which showed I had had chlamydia year's ago. I didn't even know I had, and the Dr's never picked up on it. I had been with my 'first' for 12 years (he's got a lot to answer for)
anyway it had a terrible effect on my tubes which broke me, but after picking myself up off the floor I had a lap&dye, and we have just started a round of ivf (day 10 of sniffing). you cannot beat yourself up on the past and what ifs, just push like crazy for referrals and tests to get to the route of things.

buzz also I wanted to say I am so sorry that you lost that pregnancy at 10 weeks. It is heartbreaking, even though you have beautiful BB, I'm sure you never forget your little one that you lost. I'm so sorry.

Welcome chunder. Good that you're getting things checked out. When you can, I would ask for a referral to a fertility specialist to ask what's going on. Be as pushy as you can, there is a lot of hanging about and time wasting in all of this business. In my experience blokes can take a while to come round on the ttc front. It's frustrating, but he will come round I'm sure eventually (or even better, he won't but you'll be pregnant and the baby will arrive and then he will most certainly come round!) Sorry you're getting annoying comments.

Hi All...can I join. Been TTC for 12 months now, erratic cycles and an underactive thyroid are not making life easy. I also had chylmdia (sp) about 9 years ago, so very worried that this will have affected my tubes . Had our first doc appt a week ago to discuss - I am being sent for a day 21 blood test (CD21 to be determined by clearblue fertility monitor given my irregularity) and DH going for SA.

Really need a kick up the butt...had a bit of a (drunken) breakdown last night - we went for a family dinner and my Dad starting making comments about when we are going to have kids - cue deathly silence at the table as my Sister is well aware we have been trying for ages and are getting a bit down about it). Anyway, was getting upset in the car on the way home and DH sometimes just doesn't seem to get it...he is always about 5 steps behind where I am and it gets really frustrating . He is so unemotional about it all as well, basically just sees it as a science experiment I think. Am so tired by it all, and know that realistically, this is probably only the start.

Anyway, sorry for the moanfest....(what a great way to introduce myself!!), I am hoping I can join the chat here for some support when needed and give some support as well - a positive step, that doesn't involve having sex!

Hi Coco, so sorry to hear you are still in ttc turmoil. I think Fox had a bleed which she thought was AF but after getting suspicious she tested and she saw a positive. Unfortunately that was a CP though. As others have said, I think you need to do a test as that's the only way to tell. I really hope you get an irondiff.

Critter - am thinking about you a lot and hoping that Friday brings good news. I'm glad the bleeding has stopped. And I don't blame you for telling work. Blimey you have been through so much , I think it's important they know. It's good you have felt you have been able to tell them. I have just been paranoid that I would lose my job if my work knew about miscarriages and I was trying to get pregnant. But life would have been so less stressful if I had been able to tell them. And you are so right about 'people are weird' category. That has really helped to think of them like that. I think some of their comments over the years have shown such lack of thought that for some reason, they are just one couple that really get to me!

Nelly - i told you my internet cheapie never got darker. Perhaps invest in one of those rip off ones although from what i hear stay away from the digital ones as apparently they make people panic when they don't go up in weeks.

Buzz - thanks, that's good to hear in an odd way that you still feel like that now.

Berry - you should definitely spam the thread when you 're in hospital that's what we are here for.

Euro - sorry to hear about the persistent periods. Mine are like that ...well apart from when they need to turn up for the start of ivf but I keep worrying that it's going to turn up now, when they shouldn't because they are so persistent. As for being in the 20%... plussers are special, we like to be abnormal!

coco welcome back but sorry you're still in the midst of it all. I had loads of spotting every cycle so only really thought I was pregnant when there was very little iyswim. A test is unfortunately the only way....

sam my approach at work was to only talk about preg stuff when asked. I was the only person in the office not to have kids though so a bit different. Hopefully she'll settle down soon.

joy your bil has form for being thoughtless and no wonder you reacted that way. Them keeping a pregnancy quiet is one thing, lying about trying for another child is unnecessary. I still feel pangs at announcements and scans sometimes, no matter how unreasonable of me that is.

On my way to see nelly this morning I paused and looked up to see a lovely rainbow. It made me think of all of you and our hopes and dreams. Cheesy but true. Shall try to post the picture.

critter the first time I bleed the pregnancy got to 10 weeks and I do think having the flu jab is what ended it due to immune issues as there was nothing wrong with the fetus when tested and the 2nd time the pregnancy produced BB so it doesn't always end badly, my fingers are crossed for you on Friday when you will hopefully see a heartbeat or maybe it might be a little too early

One other thing. My doctor said that bleeding in early pregnancy is almost always physical, caused by so many developing blood vessels mashing together (his phrase) ie, not necessarily caused by something wrong being with the embryo.

I remember you and your monkey too! So sorry to hear you're still in TTC crapland.

According to the internet, implantation bleeding usually happens around 5 - 8 dpo. I have had what looks like implantation bleeding with an IVF cycle that turned out to be negative.

I've also had a mega light short period after an anovulatory cycle.

I've had spotting with a pregnancy that ended in mc at 5 and a half weeks.

And I've had bright red short bursts of bleeding (including clots and cramps) with my current (maybe shortlived) pregnancy at 5 weeks and 5 weeks 3 days, which sounds like Buzzy's experience.

I guess what this means is that every pregnancy/cycle/person is different. You might be pregnant or you might not, and infuriatingly, the only way to tell is to do a test.

coco I remember you, and your monkey :) my experience has been to have a bit of spotting before AF/BFP was due, but I looked at my records and with my 2nd to last pregnancy I did havebright red bleeding with clots at around 4-5 weeks, with my last pregnancy I had bleeding at 6 weeks, hope that helps, although a pee stick is the best way :)

Coco I never had implantation bleeds, whenever I thought this is af, it was. So no use. In serious doubt, invest in internet cheapies!

Waves at fellow af sufferer, euro. Mine returned at 14 weeks (and lembie's stil ebfed). The hormones do nasty stuff. I got fully unreasonable both times - and wondered about hobnobs in the 7 weeks between...

It's been nearly a year since I last visited this site. I've been ttc for 3.5 years now and more or less gave up this summer. However I'm having a "what if" moment and needed some advice.
So glad to find some familiar faces are still chatting here. I've not had a chance to read down the recent posts but I hope everyone is doing well and there are plenty of bumps and newborns that have appeared since I was last here.

So my question is a simple one. How much of a bleed is too much of a bleed to potentially be an implant bleed?
I had an oddly late and light period that I dutifully didn't pin any hopes on but I've had some odd nausea and faintness in the past few weeks and it's got me thinking......
I'm so fed up of pissing on sticks and in theory should be getting close to ov but just wanted a sanity slap from the only ladies I know who can supply that.
I know the usual, "light spotting" brown or pinkish guide line. So when this was two days of light but definitely red bleed I assumed it was AF. Has anyone had any experience that might help me ignore the crazy preg voice in my brain?
