New thread full of the most amazing women.

Sam - sorry to hear that. I'm not sure either. There must be a reason why they say don't read after a certain amount of tine although I can't work out why this could induce a positive. You have a good Lp so that is good. For me I found temping useful because it told me exactly when I was ovulating especially when I combined it with the opks. It told me my Luteal phase was only 10/11 days which really isn't long enough. So I found it quite useful.

Nelly - what drugs will they continue to prescribe? Clexane is a blood thinner and is used in ivf to help implantation. If you don't have a clotting problem you can come off it after 12-13 weeks. Progesterone they should definitely supply to you for the first trimester , after that baby produces its own progesterone. Steroids- well this is the kitchen sink and i bet you don't need them but it's good to chuck things at this. I don't think you are being negative, you are too scared to get excited that's all. I think once you have seen a heartbeat it may help put your mind at rest. I'm terrified of a mmc too, it hasn't left me and I still vividly remember the last one so I hate Roy or my bf being excited and talking about the future. It feels too much pressure and if they are trying to jinx it. It's good you have a scan booked in.

Buzzybee123 · 05/12/2014 08:59

sam :( sorry to hear that

loopylou1984 · 05/12/2014 06:30

This mornings test is a very definite bfn even after leaving it on the side. So yesterday's result must have been wrong - can't see how I'd get a bfp in the evenings but not the mornings Hmm x

Deeray · 04/12/2014 21:56

Nelly, say you're unexplained so throwing everything at it. And let him come up with good reasons why not.

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2014 21:49

Thanks Nelly - I still feel like af could arrive any time so we'll see... X

MuddyWellyNelly · 04/12/2014 21:41

Sammy, interesting. This early on you really need FMU. Good luck :)

I really want to know more of the Art Met Doll story. Grin.

Ray it's freezing here too but I prefer it to the mild but horrid damp weather we've had. Hope the boobs feel better soon or not

So I'm now going in to EPU next Thursday. I've to see the midwife then have a scan, then see the consultant. My GP has prescribed enough drugs for the interim. I think it's just routine but a bit worried he might decide I've no need for some/any of the drugs. Given I don't know why I'm actually on half of them, what should I say? What's the clexane doing? And of course I'm terrified of a MMC. Every time I wipe and don't actually see anything, I'm momentarily relieved, and then I just worry about MMC instead. It's really not normal to be so negative is it? I should be excited about a scan but I'm really not.

sam no expert on the fuzzy line but defo need to retest tomorrow, unsure how lines appear if there is nothing going on but imagine that they do, oh the heardfeckery of it all, my fingers are crossed for you :)

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2014 19:52

Buzzy yes you're right, 13 dpo.
It's a one step one.
No didn't watch it for the whole 20 mins, but it was definitely over 10 minutes.
I left it on the side in the bathroom while running a bath so I'm thinking it's possible that it got wet and the dye spread somehow? It was a very fuzzy line. X

Buzzybee123 · 04/12/2014 19:25

sam oooh how many days dpo are you 13 I think, what kind of test is it, were you watching it for all of the 20 minutes, could it have come up earlier , all you can do is test again tomnorrow

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2014 18:16

I know Ray - That's why I'm trying not to get my hopes up! Its just I've never seen a second line at all, so even seeing it there feels like an achievement!
It def a pink line, but was very fuzzy to begin with, and now I'm not even sure it is in the right place on the test!

Oh dear, I think it's official, I've lost the plot!

Deeray · 04/12/2014 18:07

I think you're not supposed to count lines that appear after 10 mins. Does it have any colour in it? When is af due? It's normal for temps to go up and down a bit so I wouldn't read anything into it going down and then up, it's the overall pattern that counts. The best thing to do would be to test with first morning urine when your period is due.

Doll and Art, you do make me laugh. I love that your men think nothing of you arranging dates with strangers over the internet :)

It has turned freezing here, I would really like to hibernate for the next few months. No AF yet but I don't think it's due until Mon or Tues next week. My boobs are very sore though.

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2014 18:02

Erm.... Scrap the above, I gave in and tested and now wish I hadn't as I'm sure there is a faint line, but it didn't appear till about 20 minutes after and is a bit blurry so I don't know what it means??
I'm shaking...

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2014 17:23

Nelly - glad they're going to pay!

Buzzy - yes I am tempted, but I'm too scared of seeing a bfn :(. Got a hen do this weekend so should test really before I head off to have some drinks.... Will brave it Saturday morning maybe.

Had what feels like a whole day of people talking about pregnancy today... I'm exhausted from fake smiling! Lol. X

Buzzybee123 · 04/12/2014 14:32

sam cramps can mean so many different things, are you tempted to test, I'm sure nelly has a spare one Grin hopefully your MIL and SIL will be sensitive about the TTC subject

art and doll you two crack me up Grin

joy totally understandable about not waiting, I don't think I had a belly at this stage, well other than the one I already have

nelly great that they will help with the druggage and scans too

critter glad all was ok at the scan, I don't think the measuring a bit behind is much to worry about, its such a small thing they are trying to measure, but can understand your concern, best to do as the doctor ordered

ray are you going to be able to fit in a cycle before Christmas or are you still waiting for AF to arrive

foxy hope you are ok

Hello to any newbies

We all have hacking coughs and sound like a family that smoke 40 a day, I think my immune system has packed it in Hmm

MuddyWellyNelly · 04/12/2014 12:22

Well this is a turn up for the books. Went to see GP the other day, to see if they'd prescribe my remaining drugs. He seemed unsure but took some time to check. He's just called to say they will. I'm seeing a consultant on Monday who will prescribe from there. Apparently I'm also getting a scan within 10 days. Hopefully then I can rearrange my private one for a bit later. Have a feeling there will be nothing there and they will think I'm wasting their time Confused

So I was sure I was going to see a temp dip this morning after the last two days of it being slightly lower... But it's actually gone up (only by .02!).I tested a bit earlier though because dh was up early for something, maybe that's made the difference? X

ArtemisTheHunter · 03/12/2014 22:45

Critter brilliant news on the scan. I've been doing a little happy dance. Your obstetrician sounds lovely, conservative management sounds like a reassuring course of action. I would have had scans every week if I had been allowed, the whole thing is terrifying. Big hugs and I'm glad you had a lovely time back home Smile.

We probably should have made a secret tenplusser home movie, When Art Met Doll And Doll Met Too Much Wine. The fact it happened is a tribute to our menfolk really. Me: "Do you want to drive for hours to go and stay with a stranger I met on the Internet? I'm pretty sure she's not a homicidal maniac". Mr A: "Yeah sure, now straighten that baby's wig".

loopylou1984 · 03/12/2014 19:05

Critter - No, still haven't heard anything about the referral. Friday will be 6 weeks since I saw my GP. DH says to chase again tomorrow...but I'm feeling so emotional I think I might just cry on the phone.

Critter, Berry and Nelly - I'd love to think these were pregnancy cramps rather than AF, but with the slight temp dip I think I'm definitely due a visit from the wicked witch.

Joy - Can I ask what you learnt from the temping?

DH told him mum and our SIL this evening... I'm not sure how I feel about them knowing, but we had discussed telling them so at least I wasn't there to cry about it I suppose. And at least now we won't get any awkward 'when are you having kids' comments over xmas.

Critter - Yay for the good scan, must be so lovely to see :)

Re the swimming - I always thought it was encouraged too...shows how little I know!

Waves to everyone, X

Pikz · 03/12/2014 15:11

Thank you for the warm welcome. Fluffy good luck and joy, critter and nelly yay for scans!

Got my op letter through for 18th December so not long to wait now

berrygoround · 03/12/2014 13:10

Sammy mild period type cramps which didn't turn in to anything more were also one of my first pregnancy symptoms so don't count yourself out just yet. The limbo bit is the worst part of the cycle by far though.

Critter, I am so thrilled that you had a positive scan. Your obstestrician sounds lovely and it sounds like good advice to take it easy. Glad you had a lovely time hibernating at home. You are such a lovely lady and your kind message made me well up. It is a tricky time of year and I am sure it must be even more so for you.

Nelly, sorry I think you have said but do you have a scan booked?

Joy I don't blame you. How anyone goes the length of time between 12 and 20 weeks without a scan is beyond me.

CritterPants · 03/12/2014 13:00

Joy good idea on the scan. No reason to wait if you're feeling worried. Interesting about the swimming! I had loads of baths with J and some last week too but will stop now. On the toxoplasmosis - he says it is in the soil. He told me I could supervise the digging in the dirt with a clipboard instead.

joycep · 03/12/2014 11:51

Fluffy – that all sounds great and good number of follies and hurrah to stimming. You have been downregging for what seems like ages so it must be a relief to get going!

Sammy – sorry about the cramps. When i was temping and i saw the temp come down is was always a miserable feeling. I think the final straw was when my temps were still high and i still got AF and i thought i couldn’t do it anymore. However, temping provided me with very valuable information.

Welocme Emilie and sorry you have been trying for a while. We have had people conceive naturally on this thread around the 18/19 mark but I think it’s always worth getting checked out after a year.

Ah Lemon sorry to hear you are now missing a Gall Bladder. I have a friend who is having hers out on Friday. I hope you are recovering well.

Art – wow at minimart being 15months. Pregnancies do seem to go slower than kids growing up. It’s bizarre.

Critter – i don’t blame you hibernating when you came back. I’m so pleased everything looks well. I think the gestone really came to the rescue. And how come you aren’t allowed to dig in the garden – how does that give you toxyplasmosis?? I was planning on doing that this weekend but I will change my plans. My friend was speaking with her friend who is head neonatal consultant at some hospital in London and the tips I was given last night was, no swimming, no baths and no sex without a condom. Apparently after 12wks the biggest cause of miscarriage is infection often caused by water getting in there or something. Sounds like no gardening is on the list as well. I’ve heard of no baths before but I thought swimming was the safest kind of excercise so that surprised me. As for sex, i’m afraid poor Roy has been left bereft of it since August when i started ivf as too scared. Poor chap, i hope he doesn’t go elsewhere to find it!

Nelly – hope you are coping in this wait. Browns bits are really fine honestly – although disconcerting .

Ray – are you doing a cycle this month or are you doing it in Jan?

I was due for a scan a week tomorrow but i can’t wait that long as am in such a state so am getting one this weekend now. I was really hoping to last at least 3 weeks between scans but clearly it’s not possible. if my tummy was growing or if i had some kind of sign things were ok, perhaps i would feel more at ease.

Waves to all.

CritterPants · 03/12/2014 11:32

Nelly just quickly he said it wasn't anything to do with flying, just that the first trimester was so tiring that it was good to avoid long work trips to make sure I rested. Sorry about scary brown smear. Every twinge is terrifying. Tight squeeze.

MuddyWellyNelly · 03/12/2014 10:58

Sammy around about 13DP"O" this cycle I was sure AF was starting up. Cramps are a rubbish indicator I've decided! Fingers crossed: but remember hormones make everything so much worse. It always gets better again.

Critter after your scary start it's such wonderful news about your scan. I'm sure work will only be delighted for you. Thanks for the advice. I must drink more water though!! Do you know why he advised against the flight? Not that I've any planned but I do have a long car journey.

Better go but back later. had a small brown smear again today but nothing last wipe and I think there is a correlation between using 2 cyclogest in a row instead of the utrogestan I got from Athens. The former are bigger and pointy and think I may be irritating things. I'm calm about it today. So long as it remains tiny amounts I can rationalise it.

Oh sammy I am sorry you're feeling crampy. It's a miserable feeling, you just want to go and hide and lick your wounds before the next cycle. I don't want to get your hopes up, but I have had cramps when pregnant as well as when not pregnant before AF. So it may not mean anything. I'm assuming you haven't heard anything back about your referral yet? So frustrating, they really need to pull their finger out. Sad

fluffy that is amazing news! Hurrah, you're really on your way. I have a great feeling about this round for you, and you've had such a positive attitude throughout. Will be lovely for you to be PUPO by Christmas and I so hope that you have a BFP to celebrate the New Year. Happy birthday, too, and a high five to my fellow Sagittarian - it's my birthday on Friday, am kind of dreading it as it's the dreaded 35, yay 'advanced maternal age'. Hmm

A big warm welcome pikz and emily - this is a great place to be during a crappy time. Sorry that you're here, but really glad you found us. The ladies on here are the kindest and most supportive women imaginable and I literally don't know how I would have gotten through the past few years without them. emily I'm so sorry for your losses. MCs completely suck.

berry hope you're doing ok. I know Christmas will be incredibly hard for you - you ought to have a little one with you. It's just totally rubbish and I am so sorry you're going through it.

Love to joy and nelly, hope you're both doing ok and not too horribly anxious [hollow laugh]. Thinking of you both and sending positive thoughts.

I love that art and doll had a meet up and I also chuckled at the idea of art's little girl wearing a wig! She does have rock star hair.

ray I loved your drunk post! Glad you were able to let your hair down a bit, you deserve to have some fun amid all the crap.

Poor you lemon. I am so sorry about the painful gall bladder, it must be very hard to be away from your DH and lembie. Fingers crossed that they sort it out and you're able to come home and be looked after on the sofa for Christmas.

AFM I had another scan yesterday at 7 +5. The little creature had grown quite a bit and is now measuring exactly the right size for dates (was a couple of days behind last time) and had a strong heartbeat. I emailed my obstetrician who delivered James after the appointment, to let him know I'm pregnant, and he called me last night and we had a long chat. He was really nice and I think he is going to be super conservative with managing this pregnancy, which suits me just fine.

Here's what he told me (maybe useful for nelly) - he said to make sure I'm eating plenty of protein, drinking water, taking prenatals, and getting rest. He advised me to cancel a long work trip I have coming up if I can - the plane tickets are booked but I'm hoping we can get a refund within the 24 hour clause as they only bought them yesterday. Will mean I need to tell work that I didn't miscarry after the horrible bleeding and the pregnancy is continuing, but with my sad history I hope they will understand. He also told me not to go digging in the garden because of toxyplasmosis (I told him I was planning to plant bulbs this weekend with my mum, who will be visiting) and he said I should supervise the bulb planting with a clipboard instead. And he told me it was probably a good idea not to have sex and that I should tell MrC he was sorry, but that we could still cuddle.

Love to everyone I've missed - sorry for lack of London meet up organisation on my part. I totally hibernated and it was lovely, just slept loads and spent time chatting with family at home. The weather was so dreary that I barely left the house but it was still really nice to be back.
