Lol - men are strange!

Yes, we thought the same about the savings thing. At least we might be able to afford private by then if the waiting list is too long!

natureplantar101 · 20/11/2014 00:47

well that way we dont get disappointed and we are thinking of positives if it takes another year of trying we have more savings and DP said infertility is great contraception Hmm men are so strange lol

That's very sensible of you... I stupidly thought we'd get our next appointment this side of Xmas! Ah well, a couple more months to try naturally! X

Nature, just wanted to update you (if you're still reading this) it's been 3.5 weeks since gp did our referral and we still haven't heard anything from the hospital.... Lots of waiting it seems! X

loopylou1984 · 17/11/2014 20:55

Nature, have you got your results yet? Xx

loopylou1984 · 15/11/2014 08:00

I know, every day a new one appears on Facebook... And it seems to be all anyone talks about! X

natureplantar101 · 14/11/2014 23:13

especially at our age and everyone else is posting scan pictures

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 14/11/2014 21:22

Aww nature, there is no way she could know just by looking at it by sight. Just wait for the results before you start stressing. And if there is a problem there is loads they can do to help I'm sure. Hugs to you though, it's tough going through this isn't it? Xx

natureplantar101 · 14/11/2014 20:59

our GP was quite sympathetic even though it was so embarrassing saying it out loud we couldn't conceiveBlush im just dreading DPs results and my blood results the pathologist looked at his sample like she knew the answer already Sad

*going

daisysunshine2 · 14/11/2014 19:22

The GP I saw wasn't really very sympathetic or any good was a complete and utter twat so I'm goth to wait 6 months after the mc which will be March and if nothing by then I'm going to go back to GP and then we're saving to go private if they still say no x

lazaringo · 14/11/2014 18:09

Fortunately we can probably afford a go on private though naturally we're keen to try NHS first, but that's good advice about getting a second opinion. Thank you xx

loopylou1984 · 14/11/2014 16:50

Ringo and Daisy -could you afford private?

Ringo you could maybe get a private consultation and go armed with your notes to see if they agree? If so then u know nhs are doing the right thing, if not then you could ask nhs for other tests?

Daisy, that seems like a very long wait time, it must differ depending on where you are in the country. Could you get some of the tests done privately? Xx

daisysunshine2 · 14/11/2014 14:48

Hi all, thought I would join as DH and i are "young healthy and still no luck" Our story.. Me: 23 DH:28 TTC since Sept 2013, mc Sept 14 at 5+3. Went to the Doctors but they said its either 18 months of TTC and nothing happening or 3 miscarriages before they'll do any investigations for us :( Fingers crossed we get a sticky BFP soon! Because we've had a mc it shows we 'can conceive' and therefore the 18 months of TTC before any intervention, starts again... Feeling fairly crap about it all TBH! Currently using OPK's, preseed and softcups and CD13 (no +OPK yet)

Baby dust to all! xx

lazaringo · 14/11/2014 14:24

Hi Samc85, thank you - appreciated. Yes, a few tests - blood tests and a couple of ultra sounds. I still don't really feel the infertility has been thoroughly investigated though and that because of my age they've just gone straight to IVF rather than trying Clomid. No treatments been offered though, just IVF. When you read about each of my different problems on the internet and on forums, there's a consensus they don't cause infertility so maybe with me it's the sum of the parts.

loopylou1984 · 13/11/2014 18:19

Ringo, sorry things have been so hard for you.
There is still hope, IVF might just do the trick. It seems like a long time, I assume you have had a lot of tests and treatments to find out about the conditions you mention? X

lazaringo · 13/11/2014 12:40

Hi everyone, good to know I'm not alone.
At the moment and for a little while I've been feeling very, very low about the whole pregnancy thing. I am nearly 37 and having been trying for 3 years and in the NHS system for 2.5 years we are only now being referred to IVF, which is probably another 6 months of waiting just for the consultation. I have two fibroids (the largest is 5cm), one blocked tube, low AMH, irregular periods, low progesterone levels, a cyst on the ovary (behind the tube that isn't blocked as luck would have it), a retroverted uterus, the list goes on. Basically my chances of conceiving are looking slimmer and slimmer by the day. It's annoying that the NHS stresses that time is of the essence yet it takes so long to get anywhere within the system. I am scared that the IVF won't work because of all the above symptoms (every doctor I see gives me different information about whether the fibroids will have an impact), and even if it does work I'm convinced I'll miscarry. We only get one free attempt on NHS and cannot afford private so it's this or nothing. Meanwhile there isn't a week that goes by that friends who started trying for their first baby after I did are announcing their 2nd or 3rd pregnancies. It makes me feel I'm just not meant to be a mother. I am 10 stone 4 and only 5 foot 2 so am about half a stone overweight (although I'm convinced my boobs weigh at least half a stone between them!) and my last hope is that shifting some weight will kickstart ovulation, though because of the low progesterone, weight loss is agonisingly slow despite a super healthy diet and strict exercise regime. I've been told I'm not ovulating despite mid cycle pain, spotting and positive OPKs. Whenever I try to talk to my husband about adoption he just says that he's convinced we'll have our own child. I know he's trying to help but that just makes me feel even more useless than I already do.

natureplantar101 · 12/11/2014 19:48

yh that would be great sam Smile glad there is someone else in the same boat as us

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 12/11/2014 18:26

Hi nature, glad it wasn't as bad as you though.
Well my gp did the referral nearly 3 weeks ago and we haven't had the appointment through yet, so there's a bit of waiting around. Hubby had to have a repeat test which was organised quickly, but as my bloods were ok I've had nothing else yet. I'm about 3 weeks ahead of you with it all so can update you with what happens to us to give you an idea? X

natureplantar101 · 12/11/2014 18:16

how long does it usually take after the tests for them to do anything to sort whats wrong ? ie medications hospitals etc
