For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

I was thinking about trying acupuncture too spinning, but for stress as I think it might be hindering things.

Sorry it didn't work out for you Spinning

Disney I only took 40mg cd's 3-7 last cycle, I just took notice of the 'one a day' on the bottle. This cycle I've started at 120 then on the last day took 200. My cycles are 30+ days, last cycle I ov'd 3 days earlier than previous cycle & this cycle it looks like I'll ov 2 days earlier than that as EWCM started on CD12 which is very early for me. No +OPK yet but I do normally get a few days of EWCM before a +OPK.

I'm hoping my new thermometer arrives before I ov, the one I've got gives me days of the same temperature so sounds like its not very accurate.

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 19:52

I'm not going to take it Disney, I'm starting with an acupuncturist so I'm hoping that might help to get things working properly again.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 09/11/2014 19:51

Thanks spinning. I can't believe how much it has messed with your cycle. Sorry to hear about that and fx for your next cycle. Will you be trying soy at a lower dose next cycle or are you going to stave off it completely?

It's hard isn't it Disney but fx it works for you. Obviously I'm disappointed it hasn't worked for me and this months cycle has been crazy, I'm just trying to think positively about my next cycle.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 09/11/2014 19:28

I took a similar amount to you spinning, 100mg for two days, then 150 for two then 200mg. Really think I should have stuck to the lower dose for my first cycle of soy.

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 19:23

New, I took 100mg for 2 days then 150mg and then 200mg for 2 days.
For anyone readying this and worrying I would just stick to a smaller dose. As I say New, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 09/11/2014 18:47

Well this is sort of the later time in my cycle that I would ovulate, I have irregular cycles so ovulate anytime between cd13-20/21. I think cd 17/18 is about average for me though. If I take the soy again next month, I will take a lower dosage cd 2-6. I took a big 200mg dose on cd7 this month which I don't think was necessary and might have delayed ovulation. We'll see. I've gotten pregnant twice on late cd20/21 ovulation this year, but miscarried both at about 5 weeks.

Hmmmmm. Results are mixed so far, aren't they. There seems to be a big variation in how it has affected everyone's ovulation. I'm looking forward to seeing if it brings any bfp's.

Yay for positive opk disney. Is it usually around this time that you ov? Anyway, the main thig is to get dtd! Enjoy!

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 09/11/2014 17:39

I've only just gotten a positive opk today, so soy has not brought ovulation forward for me, in fact I think it might have delayed it slightly. It's cd19 for me. I think I might have taken too high a dose as I've read this can delay ovulation. Honestly though, I'm absolutely fuming that it doesn't appear to have worked for me.

Yep low dose. 80mg days 5-9. I'm day 7 today and no sign of anything happening earlier. I normally start to get EWCM from cd8. How much were you on?

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 16:32

New, I'm sure you'll be fine. You started with a low dose didn't you? This is my 3rd cycle on it.
My cycle has been regular at 27/28 days, get +opk cd11 so this is really not normal for me and must be the soy. I just wanted a better egg but maybe the soy doesn't agree with me. I shall still be here cheering you all on Grin

NewEraNewMindset · 09/11/2014 15:08

Oh spinning that's shit Sad. Has also very selfishly scared me.

I don't know what your cycle is normally like or what dose you were taking but a 17 day cycle is extremely short, agreed! Definitely sounds like the soy played a part and not in a good way.

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 13:45

Thanks kitty and frolic but af is here in full flow nowHmm only cd17 so soy has well and truly fucked up this cycle. I just hope my cycle returns to normal, no more soy for me. I guess ff is going to be very confused from now!
On the positive side dp and I are off on hols for 1 week from the 20th, this could work out very well if ov comes at normal time, fxGrin

Frolicacid · 09/11/2014 10:04

So frustrating spinning. Is your temp still quite high? Hopefully it is and this isn't af. I agree with kitty that you should keep dtd.

My temp is still high and my chart looks good with the Valium spike disregarded. So I think I am 6-7 dop now and that soy bought my ovulation forward by 4-5 days. I have had another migrane last night. Apart from the one last wed, they are all responding well to tryptans, thank god. But as they are usually hormonal, and I never usually get this many I am feeling that the soy has definitely changed something in my hormonal constitution. I'm not sure if I will try it again thanks to the migraines.

KittyVonCatsington · 09/11/2014 09:11

DTD today just in case even with a bit of spotting as CD12 was too long ago really and hopefully this is the jackpot Grin

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 08:47

Also I do have quite a short surge so it's possible I did miss it.

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 08:46

I am updating ff but dp been working such long hours not much dtd! Think last time was cd12. Still peeing on opks as well.

KittyVonCatsington · 09/11/2014 08:34

spinning I had spotting at 4dpo on Soy for about a day, day and a half. Don't forget, you might've missed an LH surge but it could be ovulation spotting or implantation spotting. When did you last DTD?

NewEraNewMindset · 09/11/2014 08:27

Spinning are you still updating your chart?

Metalhead · 09/11/2014 08:16

Sorry to hear that spinning Sad. So do you think you will stop the soy next cycle, or try a different dose/days?

My chart is teasing me this month, after the huge dip on 4dpo I've now had a massive temp spike today at 7dpo. Still, it's probably just the stinking cold I've got at the moment...

spinningirl10 · 09/11/2014 06:39

Hi, still some brownish blood this morning but only when I wiped. Af always arrives full on, no spotting but last cycle it started like this. Must be the soy.

spinningirl10 · 08/11/2014 22:44

I don't think it's ov bleeding or implantation as I had a negative opk an hour before and I haven't had a positive opk at all. Will report back in the morning when I know what's happening.

NewEraNewMindset · 08/11/2014 22:22

If you OVed cd10 then 6dpo would be about the right time.

NewEraNewMindset · 08/11/2014 22:21

Implantation bleed?
