For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

Come down new!! Watery is a good indication of ewcm to follow I think. Keep opk'ing and keep dtd!

I'm feeling so different to usual this cycle. My temps are still good, so it looks like I did ovulate early. And now I have none of the usual post ov / pre AF symptoms. No cramps, no sore boobies, no sore boobies and thank god no constipation! My mood also feels quite stable! I'm assuming it's the soy, but can't work out if a lack of symptoms is a good thing or a worrying indicator of low progesterone. Time will tell.

NewEraNewMindset · 11/11/2014 13:07

Well this cycle is definitely different but I have no idea if it will work out to be in a good way.

Normally I get EWCM cd8, well so far this cycle I've only had watery, and loads of it. I am doing opks every evening so should see a positive around cd10/11 if I'm going to ovulate when I normally do. If I don't see a positive I know I'm going to panic wildly.

Talk me down people.

Thank you Smile

Love the BFPs especially when you've been trying for sooooooo long, must have been super frustrating for you. When TTC dc#1, it took 21 months & I hadn't used opks or soy, I was distinctly lacking in knowledge back then!

I also invoked the law of sod back then by being referred to a fertility clinic - then fell pregnant Grin

Congrats again Ginger, lovely news Thanks

spinningirl10 · 11/11/2014 10:38

Thanks Ginger, I shall get some this week. It has to be preferable than ruining my porridge with it Grin I think the benefits are good for an oldie like me Wink

GingerbreadHead · 11/11/2014 10:08

Spinning I was also using the powder, which is vile as you say, until someone on another thread told me you can get them in capsules! We had been eating that horrid stuff on our cereal every morning! You can get the tablets from H&B.

spinningirl10 · 11/11/2014 10:00

New, I really hope the soy works for you.

Ginger, I didn't realise that you can get macca in capsules. I use it in powdered form added to porridge or yoghurt but it smells vile, I might look out for the capsules.

GingerbreadHead · 11/11/2014 09:38

Here you go Loopy!
I'm getting very faint lines on ICs but did get another positive on a FRER this morning so hopefully I am actually pg! Confused
New it was cycle 18 for me, over 16 months, I honestly never ever thought it would happen. I really really hope the soy works for you too, and all you other ladies!
For what it's worth I also took some maca capsules for a bit, but stopped after a week as I felt I was taking too many pills! Also took EPO til ov, drank Raspberry Leaf Tea till ov, took Seven Seas trying for a baby, vitC, magnesium and B50 complex. I also spent a fortune on more supplements and vitamins and booked an appt to see a private fertility specialist thereby invoking the law of sod!!
Haha New I was just the same! Got so involved with opks and supplements thinking I was missing the winning combination, you forget you need to dtd as well!

NewEraNewMindset · 11/11/2014 08:38

So took my last dose of 80mg this morning. I decided to keep it consistently low as I'm regular and just scared I could fuck up OV by meddling.

I have some mad non-pregnant thinking. DP and I had sex this morning as we were both awake and toddler wasn't! But instead if thinking yay!! Possible baby making sex, I was annoyed as now I can't analyse my cervical mucus because of his leftovers lol.

I am deranged and I'm so far down this road now I forget that sex actually plays a slightly more important part in the process than vitamins, thermometers and opks!!

N1kkiL · 11/11/2014 07:19

Congratulations Ginger!

I've took the plunge & necked the SI's: 160mg until tomorrow then 200mg last 2 days. Fingers crossed I finally OV after 3 long months & we can get cracking! Smile

Omg Ginger you are giving me hope here. If I get a BFP I am going to be screaming it from the rooftops after 18 months trying.

Frolicacid · 10/11/2014 20:22

Yay gingerbread!
I took 100mg soy days 4&5 & 150mg days 6&7. I really, really hope it works for me too!!

spinningirl10 · 10/11/2014 20:12

Yay Congratulations Ginger Grin

MrsExtraOrdinary · 10/11/2014 20:07

Gingerbread that's marvellous news. Congratulations Thanks

LoopyLa · 10/11/2014 19:56

Oooh congrats Ginger, please post a pic of your fab bfp! Grin

GingerbreadHead · 10/11/2014 19:47

So I think I may have got a BFP this morning!!!! Shock Grin Got a very faint line on an IC, so went out to grab a FRER and there is a definite line!!! Only 11dpo so still very early days, but it's the first line I have had in over 16 months!!! Cannot believe it, I am still in shock, but I am now going to be a huge advocate of soy from now on!
I only took 100mg cd4-8 as I was worried about messing with my cycle too much, but it must have just given the egg that bit more it needed. Had no pg symptoms, everything was just the same as if AF was on her way, we did dtd 3 days in a row after getting +ve opk, but the only thing I really did differently this month was the soy!

Frolicacid · 10/11/2014 18:59

Yay for your little soy bean soap!

8dpo here and no symptoms to spot at all! At least I'm feeling more sane than last cycle when I had every symptom going!

SoapSudBub · 10/11/2014 17:32

Thank you MrsE can't quite believe it yet!!Smile

NewEraNewMindset · 10/11/2014 15:52

Well I've had some really nice runny EWCM this afternoon (never thought i'd be saying that lol!), fingers crossed it continues. Last day of taking 80mg this cycle tomorrow, will see what i think at the end and if it seemed to be quite positive i might increase the dose slightly next cycle.

LoopyLa · 10/11/2014 14:25

I'm cd15 at the moment & I'm in my fertile 'window' although not actually ovulated as yet. My cycle is all over the place (26-33 days) & my last cycle I ovulated on cd19 so will be interesting to see when my ov day this cycle...

Keeping fx for everyone SmileThanks

MrsExtraOrdinary · 10/11/2014 11:25

Soap I'm so pleased for you. That's our 4th soy pregnancy on the buses. Really glad it worked for you.

NewEraNewMindset · 10/11/2014 09:01

I'm on cd8 today, in previous cycles I've had EWCM starting in the middle of the day, but usually only for one day!!! REALLY hoping the EPO is going to help me produce more this cycle.

NewEraNewMindset · 10/11/2014 09:00

SoapSud that is lovely news Grin. Congratulations xxx

SoapSudBub · 10/11/2014 08:20

Hello lovely ladies, I've not been on this board before but the lovely spinningirl asked me to pop over from the pregvember bus and share my news!

This was my 7th cycle ttc#1 (I'm 30) but my second soy cycle and I have just has my BFP at 10-11dpo!! The first cycle I took 160mg, 160mg, 160mg, 200mg & 200mg days 2-6. This time I took the full 200mg cds 3-7 and added in 3000mg EPO up untill ov to help with cm!

Previously my cycle was 32days and I tended to ov on cd19 (according to opk) but I'm actually not sure I was oving most months, was due to have my 21day bloods next month if no luck! The soy brought forward ov to day 13-14 and the epo really helped with cm.

I'm certain that the soy made me ov and regulated my cycle, I couldn't recommend it highly enough if your cycles are long and a bit out of whack!

Good luck to you all, I just hope that this Soy Bean sticks!!

N1kkiL · 10/11/2014 08:19

I'm thinking of using SI's to kick start my cycles; currently on CD75 since stopping pill in October, no AF or OV since.

Can I ask, if I start them today and my body randomly decides to OV tomorrow & I don't confirm this until Wednesday with consistent high temps; is there harm in taking SI during/after OV?

I've no idea what's going on in there and there is a possibility OV could happen any time now.
