For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 23/10/2014 21:18

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

I can totally understand why you are fuming. Is this where they scrape too much of the lining? I can remember come one saying in the past that they thought it might have led to a low level of oestrogen production.

I suppose I should be grateful that I had two natural miscarriages and a fairly uninteresting VBAC delivery with my son. I am still struggling to fall pregnant but I think in my case it is just age.

Metalhead · 21/11/2014 10:17

new it might have shown up if I'd had an HSG on the NHS, but from what I've read you need to have it treated by a specialist, otherwise you risk making it worse, and there don't seem to be any on the NHS. I have an appointment on Monday at the NHS fertility clinic which I'm still planning on going to, and I will be asking them if they have someone there. If nothing else I want to vent my frustration that no one warned me about the risks of this happening before I had the erpc, which I am really f*ing angry about!

NewEraNewMindset · 21/11/2014 09:26

Metal I am so sorry you received the diagnosis you were concerned about. I am actually really shocked the NHS weren't interested (would they have looked into it at any point do you think?) and even more shocked at the price tag attached to sorting it out! Massive hugs from me xxx

Loopy can you see a second line in daylight now?

Disney really sorry you had a BFN Sad

I have nothing to report at all. I have no tests in the house so am planning to just wait for AF to turn up and save myself some heart ache. LP normally 14dpo, I am currently 6 dpo.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 21/11/2014 07:36

Yes Loopy, I've been there and posted a few times. I think I will test Sunday also as that's my day off work.

LoopyLa · 21/11/2014 07:12

I've read that too Disney! My cats a total softy so her behaviour wouldn't change!

I did a FRER this morning at 10dpo. Nothing definite but I'm waiting for daylight to look at at properly. I think I see something but then think I'm kidding myself more than likely so I'll leave it a few days & test again Sunday I think. No more getting excited over nothing definite it's probably all in my head

Has anyone been on the "can you see a line" website? It's addictive! I've got too much time on my hands Hmm

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 20/11/2014 22:07

good luck Metal and all the best Flowers

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 20/11/2014 22:05

I tested this evening using a FRER, I'm at 9/10 dpo ovulation I think. Not even a hint of a line Sad

My cat has been overly cwtchy with me today and yesterday, and normally she ignores me. I read a thread yesterday about how cats become like this around pregnant owners. I've clearly lost the plot

Frolicacid · 20/11/2014 21:13

I have my fingers crossed for you disney and loopy.
Good luck cardio.
Sorry AF looks imminent bobsy.
Yay for ovulation at last tooth!
I'm sorry you have ashermans metal, but hopefully now you have a diagnosis you can move on to the right treatment. I sincerely hope it brings you your BFP.

I might start taking soy again tonight so that if I do get headaches or migraines again they will mostly be over the weekend. i'm assuming it will bring my ovulation forward if taking it from day 5 did last month.

Metalhead · 20/11/2014 19:41

Yay for ov tooth! Sorry about the spotting bobsy, I'd really hoped soy would work it's magic for you.

I will be leaving this thread for a while as I've had it confirmed today that I've got Asherman's syndrome, so will be having a hysteroscopy ASAP to try and fix it, but will have to have a coil fitted for about a month after the op. Good luck to you all, I hope we have lots more soy beans on here soon! Smile

toohardtothinkofaname · 20/11/2014 19:28

Just am update from me; took SI from CD74 & I think I've finally OV'd!

Has pos OPK Monday & Tuesday, negative yesterday & today and had horrendous OV pain on right side since this morning

Only temps will tell! Had an increase this morning but hard to test effectively because the OH is obsessed with having the heater on so one night I'm cold, next I'm not...

iniquity · 20/11/2014 19:08

Looking forward to the next bfp here.
Your not out yet bobsyboo. Have you done a test?

BobsyBoo · 20/11/2014 18:43

Well second cycle of Soy for me and it doesn't appear to have worked, the pre-AF spotting has started Sad

22 cycles down! I think I have tried just about everything to help me get pregnant but nothing is working, think I'm dealing with secondary infertility and need to find a way to accept it.

Loopla Sorry about BFN, 9dpo is early for testing though so fx a BFP for you in the next few days.

Good luck to everyone else, fx for some more bfp's on here.

LoopyLa · 20/11/2014 06:53

9dpo & a BFN. Kicking myself for poas, I should know better!!

cardiokbxmom · 19/11/2014 20:58

Hi - I've been reading the thread for a couple of days and thought maybe I should stop stalking and introduce myself. We've been ttc for about 6 years now. We already have 2 beautiful boys, aged 15 & 8, but wanting more. I'm 39 and dh 40. Referred to RE last year as I had gotten pregnant in the last 5 previous years 3 times and all were lost to miscarriage so, underwent all fertility testing and hysteroscopy in May 2013 to remove some scar tissue. Took femara 5 mg cd 3-7 since last August and not once fell pregnant. DH has had SA testing and we received the go ahead for IUI. Underwent 2 failed IUI's Sept/Oct 2014 with femara 5 mg and injectables. We decided to take the next couple months off from the meds and IUI's due to the holidays as they do cost $750-$900 each (my portion w/ 50% fertility coinsurance). We've been diagnosed with unexplained fertility; I do ovulate regularly and have a normal 28-day cycle. I actually responded very well to my first month of meds preparing for the IUI and had 5 large follicles :-(

Nurses said to go completely off the meds as I have been on them for over a year with no results and indicated it might be good for my body. I agree it may be a good idea, but my time clock is ticking and I can't just sit around doing nothing in the meantime. So, my search continued on what I could take to naturally boost my odds and came across SI. I've read all the pros and cons and ran out to buy my first bottle on Monday, 11/17.

While it is ultimately in God's plan and will that we conceive, I'm hoping that this will be a lucky month! I started my dose yesterday, CD3, @ 200mg SI and plan to do the same dosage for the five days. I know I started at a high dosage but I'm so tired of messing around each month. In addition to the SI I also take prenatal vitamins w/ DHA, DHEA 75mg/day & Ovaboost.

I'm so happy to read about all the bfp's and what you have done to get yours. I further look forward to reading about everyone's journey. Prayers for everyone's upcoming bfp! :-)

spinningirl10 · 19/11/2014 19:48

Just popping in to see how you're all doingSmile hoping to see some more soy bfp's very soon.
So pleased to hear you ov'd Newera, I know you were worried about it.

Pleased to say that I'm now on cd11(no soy this cycle) and my line on an opk has been getting steadily darker today so looks like ov is imminent. I'm so happy as I thought after last month soy might have messed up my cycle.

Good luck ladiesGrin

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 19/11/2014 12:18

I haven't poas today but got a negative yesterday. I think I'll do one tomorrow evening on a frer.

OP posts:
Boysclothes · 19/11/2014 09:00

Ok, I'm the lamest of the lame. I actually peed on a FRER in the evening of 5dpo. I'm annoyed with myself. Don't mind peeing on an IC but I might as well have just flushed a fiver down the loo.

LoopyLa · 19/11/2014 08:39

Dying to know if you've POAS yet Disney? Grin

I'm thinking the same NewEra, I'll do soy again but only 80-120 mg if I'm out this month.

NewEraNewMindset · 19/11/2014 07:46

Well a nice birthday surprise was my fertility monitor telling me this morning that I did indeed ovulate on Saturday - cd13!! So the soy added a day onto my cycle which is pretty bloody clever.

Next month I am going to take 100mg a day I think Grin praying there won't be a next month obviously

Frolicacid · 18/11/2014 23:26

Thanks ladies! I am feeling much jollier now AF is here - fresh cycle and all of that. Temping had warned me with a dip yesterday and this morning, so it wasn't an unexpected visit. I'm really pleased to have got my cycle down by almost a week, I just hope I can keep it that way.

Fx you won't be joining me soon new. I hope your son has a lovely birthday.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 18/11/2014 22:53

Flowers for you Frolic. Fx for your new cycle.

OP posts:
NewEraNewMindset · 18/11/2014 22:36

An sorry Frolic. I'll be with you keeping you company soon enough xx

Frolicacid · 18/11/2014 21:49

AF arrived for me today, so no soy bean this cycle!
I'm going to try again this month as I'm pleased soy seems to have bought my ovulation forward by 5 days and my cycle down from 35 to 29 days. I might not up the dose from 100 to see if that stops the migraines.
Fx for all of you still waiting.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 18/11/2014 18:51

I might be symptom spotting a bit, but so far I've had a bit of spotting yesterday at 7dpo and since then and all today my skin has been itching like mad. Both unusual for me.
