For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 23/10/2014 21:18

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

My problem is also secondary infertility. Conceived easily when I just turned 37, then breast fed for a year so didn't start ovulating again until I stopped which was on the brink of my 39th birthday. Two miscarriages this year and here I am on the brink of my 40th birthday and wondering where my fertile years went.

If I hadn't breast fed (which wasn't an option as I adored it and didn't want to stop at all), then I suspect I would have two children right now.

That GPs attitude really annoys me BobsyBoo, there should be more in place for those TTC & 35+. Plenty of woman don't go through menopause until they're in their 50's so you could have lots of child bearing years left in you yet!

Good luck!

LoopyLa · 25/11/2014 05:51

Confirmed with a CB Digital this morning ladies, I have a soy bean Smile

Feel a bit sad that no-one else is joining me yet so I may just lurk a while if that's ok. It would be good to get some more positive stats on this thread! Smile

Fx everyone, and lots of Cake

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 24/11/2014 23:41

Thank you Frolic.

I'm unsure about whether to try soy again. It just felt like it delayed ovulation slightly for me.

I usually ovulate around day 18-21 loopy. I took soy last cycle and it came forward to day 14. Hopefully I will do similar this time. I did an opk earlier and it was negative. We are away this weekend, so a well timed egg would be perfect!

Sorry you are out disney. I hope you enjoyed the pub - I like your style, nothing better than a drink to welcome AF if it insists on showing up!

NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 22:19

I'm pretty much counting myself out too. No good symptoms, a little bit of creamy cm this morning but ever since I've been totally dry which is never a good sign for me.

I've stropped around the place but I'm starting to focus on next cycle now and I'm wondering whether to take 80 80 120 120 120 or 80 80 80 120 120 or just get some 50mg tablets off the net and take 100mg every day.

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 20:48

Boys step away from them sticks! Grin CBO digital isn't as sensitive as FRERs anyway so if it's early days, not preggers is what it'll show unfortunately. Don't discount yourself yet, I'm 13 dpo & I've been peeing for 4 days without a sniff of a line until today.

if you do, however, want to stock up on sensitive HPTs, Superdrug are good - cheap & one of the most sensitive out there x

Boysclothes · 24/11/2014 20:13

Congrats Loopy! Another soybean.

I'm 11dpo up in here. Have done FRER on 7, 8 and 9 dpo, all BFN and a CB digi today as it's all I had in the house and my ICs haven't come! NOT PREGNANT came up, it's very bleak I much prefer squinting at an imaginary line for hours and fishing it out the bin for a couple of days.

Have one FRER left but convinced I'm out. Will try v hard not to use it before 14 dpo as otherwise I'll just have to buy more. Boobs feel fine and they are always sore, every cycle, so that sucks. Have some dark yellow CM today which normally turns into brown CM then into AF 14dpo. So not hopeful.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 24/11/2014 20:12

I'm out, started spotting right on time, af is here. Going to pub to have a drink since my body is still my own. I'm not as upset or disappointed as I usually am, I gave it all I could this month.

When's your usual ov day Frolic, if you have one?

Frolicacid · 24/11/2014 19:28

I am also spotty new, but usually only around ovulation. Today I have whoppers on my forehead, cheeks and chin. Blush

I have had really strong pains in what feels like my left ovary today. I'm only on day 7, so not really sure what it means. I hope it means the follicles are warming up to realease a lovely big strong christmas egg!

BobsyBoo · 24/11/2014 15:19

I'm 38 Loopy I had a scan earlier this year & blood tests a few months ago, they can't find anything wrong. My GP won't do anymore as she says its down to my age Sad

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 14:08

BobsyBoo, can I ask how old you are & if you've been to GP? Sorry if impertinent! Blush

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 14:05

Ok my stats:-

I'm dpo 13 (and been testing since dpo 9, doh!) Blush
Cycle 2, but 1st on Soy
Age 37
Took SI 3-7 because of my age & I ovulated late (& cycles ranged from 25-33 days). Seemed to bring it forward from cd19 to cd16.
Took 120, 120, 160, 160, 200.
No side effects as far as I could tell except for a lack of cm throughout my cycle - apart from the one day I got ewcm!

No noticeable pg symptoms to be honest, even the bloated feeling disappeared after a few hours. I was extremely pmt-ish in my moods, spotty, all the usual AF signs. The only possible symptom has been a horrible cold that's come on literally overnight - apparently nasal congestion etc can be a sign of early pregnancy (who knew?!). However having said that my dc#1 has been full of cold too so could be coincidence Hmm and I've caught it off him.

BobsyBoo · 24/11/2014 14:02

Congratulations Loopy Flowers

How long were you TTC for?

I'm really letting this thread down 2nd cycle of Soy & AF is here again for the 22nd cycle of TTC. I'm going to increase my dose this cycle. If I took 200mg for all 5 days could that do more harm than good do you think?

If it doesn't work this time then I think it's time to accept I have secondary infertility. I'd really like to adopt but it's OH that is not keen.

Cantbelieveimdoingthisagain · 24/11/2014 13:46

Congratulations loopy

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 24/11/2014 12:26

No af for me yet and I think 14dpo so I might still be in the game. If it's not here by this evening I will test again in the morning.

Wow that looks like a line to me too Loopy! Congratulations!

GingerbreadHead · 24/11/2014 09:19

Loopy!!!! Those lines look exactly like mine did! I had one that faint on an IC at 10dpo and the FRER was about the same as yours a few days later. I definitely think congratulations are in order!!! YEY!!!! I was shocked as well, didn't feel at all pregnant and had all the usual signs that AF was on her way. What Soy dose and days did you take then?

NewEra I have everything crossed for you, you deserve that bfp.

Glad you managed the soy migraine free frolic, that's promising. Didn't notice much change in my skin, but then I get spots anyway Angry

Sorry about the bfns Disney. Has AF arrived?

NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 08:56

Loopy what are your stats? Ie how long have you been trying, age etc?

I am 9dpo today and it's usually around now that on a non-pregnant cycle (and yep there have been plenty) all promising symptoms disappear. If I get any creamy cm today I shall be hopeful.

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 08:52

If it is, then it'll be a Soy baby which goes towards the success rate of this thread! Smile

I'm feeling a bit Shock to be honest. I've had no definitive pg symptoms & was sure AF was on it's way. I think I need to use a CB to see the words myself & then I might believe it more!

Frolicacid · 24/11/2014 08:50

I'll say congratulations loopy Flowers

I'm on day 7 of my cycle and managed 4 100mg doses of soy now without a migraine, so maybe it was something else last cycle. I think I'll try 150 for my last dose tonight.
I am super spotty though. Has anyone else found soy affected their skin?

NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 08:44

Aaaaah but you are paying to see the words PREGNANT Grin

I can see a faint line and considering it's not FMU I would say you are uppeth duffeth Wink

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 08:42

Just out of interest, I checked the Clearblue digital NewEra and it's only sensitive to 25 miu/ml. My Superdrug ones are 10miu/ml sensitive which is extraordinary when you think about the cost!

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 08:40

I couldn't help myself...

Just did a Superdrug HPT & a faint line has come up very quickly! Smile Hopefully you girls can see a line too? or I definitely need to change my glasses
