As the title suggests ... Looking for some inspirational and uplifting stories about mums in their 30's managing to get preggers rather soon after deciding to ttc Smile

Fell pregnant after 4 months off the mini pill at 32 with DD1, fell pregnant with DD2 2 months after having DD1 at 33 (remember you are extra fertile after having a baby a glass of wine may have made me forget this Blush. My sister has just had DS1 at 34 after 5 months or trying. Looking at my friends it seems people are more fertile in their 30's.

campingfilth · 16/10/2014 20:14

I was 37 and drunk and wasn't even trying. Not sure if that is going to make you feel better or not but I know a fair few women that got pregnant quickly in old 'fertile' age

CLUCKY

TrousersSchmowsers · 16/10/2014 20:12

Hmm well I'm 40 now and clunky as ever (no plans whatsoever though!)

Conceived DC2 on first cycle after having copper coil removed at 34. AND I'm fat!

Katewright699 · 16/10/2014 20:07

Yeah it is trousers... I don't even know why I'm putting so much pressure on myself tbh... I made the mistake of googling ttc in your 30's and all that pops up is that basically your fertility falls off a cliff at 35 !!!

DC1 took six months, but DC2 we weren't even trying (DC1 was only 9 months!) and I didn't even realise I was pregnant until 6/7 weeks. He was clearly keen to join our family!

Katewright699 · 16/10/2014 20:04

So sorry to hear that cookieFlowers but what a lovely surprise !!! Note to self ... Never believe oh when he tells you he pulled out Grin

Second month of ttc with dc2, aged 37.

TrousersSchmowsers · 16/10/2014 20:02

KateWright699 it's such a lot of pressure isn't it? Try not to pile an extra load on yourself to boot!

Katewright699 · 16/10/2014 20:01

Wow whistling.. That's certainly encouraging !!! I've bought opk's this month and am currently on the 2nd day of my peak so lots and lots of b'ding at the moment lol

I was pg first month of trying at 30, then 4 months of trying at 33.

cookielove · 16/10/2014 19:59

6 months if trying in 2013, bfp (sadly ended in mmc)

Not even trying fell pregnant end of 2013, beginning of 2014 (dtd 4 days before i ovulated, dh swears he pulled out) - perfect ds is lying on my tummy, I'm 32!

AWhistlingWoman · 16/10/2014 19:58

After ttc 14 cycles to fall pregnant with DS1 at 31 (bit of a shock after falling pregnant with DTDs after 1 cycle at 29) I fell pregnant with DD3 on my first cycle aged 34! So I seemed to have got more fertile as I headed into my 30s?!

Good luck Kate

Katewright699 · 16/10/2014 19:58

That's a lovely story trousers I'm guessing I should try not to be so uptight about my age and try to focus on the positives Smile I'm the last of 6 and my mums granny had 17 children Confused !!!!

Decided in February, dd came along in November last year.

I was 40 at the beginning of the week.

There is hope.

TrousersSchmowsers · 16/10/2014 19:52

Me and DH had given up on baby number 2 after some disappointments and had stopped DTD completely by the time our first was 6. We agreed not to try any more.

Then my nephew arrived and after meeting him for the first time we decided to have "one last try." And we did - literally, once. I was 34.

2 weeks later, positive test. I held my breath right through that entire pregnancy, but it stuck.

DC2 is playing Angry Birds on the sofa next to me Smile

Playdoughcaterpillar · 16/10/2014 19:52

Yes! Age of menopause is often a trend in a family, sounds like late in your family so in your favour, good luck!

Katewright699 · 16/10/2014 19:48

My mum had me at 40 and my sister had her youngest at 43 ... Do you think good fertility can run in a family's genes ?

Weekipper · 16/10/2014 19:47

At 32 got implant out in Sept, BFP November. Then 34 implant out in June, BFP in August.
I used a fertility app to try and guess fertile window.

Katewright699 · 16/10/2014 19:45

Ahhhh thanks girls it's lovely to hear all your success stories.. It does help to counter the horror stories that you read about, as if to say you've got more chance of growing ab extra boob than conceiving in you mid - late 30's !!!! I'm 35 and currently trying to conceive dc3 and part of me just needed to hear some positive feedback to keep me motivated Grin

After years of trying was told I'd never conceive naturally. Had Ivf which resulted in twins. When said twins were 1 (and I was 35), after getting frisky just once without protection (we were on holiday), I fell pregnant with third. I maintain anything is possible

LizzieMint · 16/10/2014 19:41

Blimey, yes, fell pregnant first time of trying twice - once at 32 and once at 34. Third time took a bit longer, 7 months at age 36.
