Does anyone have a nice story about getting upduffed rather quickly in their 30's to cheer me up 😄

As the title suggests ... Looking for some inspirational and uplifting stories about mums in their 30's managing to get preggers rather soon after deciding to ttc Smile

Yes - got pregnant first time at 35 then at 37 - both times on first try (almost a bit too quickly - I was expecting it to take ages). I think it probably helped that I can feel when I am ovulating - usually a complete pain (literally), but quite useful on these occasions.

teddygirlonce · 20/10/2014 07:38

Had DC1 in late 30s and DC2 in early 40s so entirely possible. Just takes lots of pleasurable work trying WinkGrin!

theonlygothinthevillage · 20/10/2014 07:33

Yep. Came off pill mid-2008, when I was 33 and a half, and was preggers after 6 months. Somehow convinced myself we'd have trouble conceiving number 2, but fell pregnant as soon as my periods returned, despite breastfeeding. Was nearly 34 the first time and nearly 36 the second. Am constantly grateful that we never went through the TTC agony, nor any miscarriages or other horrible things that some poor parents go through.

professornangnang · 20/10/2014 07:19

IMO don't worry about eating or drinking different things, chinese medicine or any of that silliness. Just have sex loads.

ImBrian · 20/10/2014 07:16

3 times! First one accidentally at 31, 2nd and 3rd time straight away at 34 (miscarried the first time). I used ovulation sticks to pinpoint the best time and it worked.

professornangnang · 20/10/2014 07:15

It took us 2 weeks of trying before I got pregnant and that was at the age of 32.

cruikshank · 20/10/2014 07:09

33 and got upduffed while on the pill. No, I don't really know how either.

LuluJakey1 · 20/10/2014 07:03

I am 35. Stopped takng pill at Christmas and then my mum died. Time wasn't right so decided to use condoms for a while until I was feeling better.

We were not very good with them- couldn't be bothered with them really and didn't like them. Very hit and miss. DTD 3 or 4 times a week but still had some of a 12 box left in May!

Decided to start TTC in May (don't know what we thought we would do differently mind) and discovered I was 8 weeks pregnant!

Am now 29 weeks Grin

McFox · 19/10/2014 22:58

It took a whole 8 weeks to conceive our ds at age 37 :)

LuxuryTrifle · 19/10/2014 22:49

Yes it totally can happen super fast - for dc1, me aged 38, happened first month ttc! And we didn't have a clue about optimal dates etc. I had expected it to take months and had bought all kinds of (never read) books I planned to read about fertility!

candypop · 19/10/2014 21:32

Had my first at 30 , got BFP ON 1st cycle , got my BFP a couple weeks ago TTC no.2 and got BFP on 2nd cycle (I'm nearly 33) I Know that I'm pretty lucky but it can be straight forward . Good luck!

sara11272 · 19/10/2014 21:32

First time of trying at 35

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 19/10/2014 21:31

Non hormone coil out at 37, upduffed before having a period. No contraception in between though avoided fertile periods in cycle but first time of 'trying', pregnant at 39.

All this after a miscarriage at 16 weeks.

confusedandemployed · 19/10/2014 21:26

Age 39, on pill for years, one minor tummy bug - bang. Upduffed. DD is nearly 20mo. Age 41, coil out 1 month - bang, upduffed.

Katewright699 · 18/10/2014 14:28

Hi dizzy Smile I'm feeling much better about it all since reading all the lovely success stories :) and like you hoping I will have a nice BFP to share before the end of the year... Keep us posted !!!

Hi this is my first ever post!

I turn 35 next week and am planning ttc for my first before the end of the year. Naturally I had concerns due to my age so this thread has been massively reassuring, as has your link haroldlloyd :). Feeling much more positive now so thanks everyone!

HaroldLloyd · 17/10/2014 21:01

a cheery article for you

No issues here at 35 and 37.

Womble1975 · 17/10/2014 20:59

DC1 2nd cycle age 36
Currently 6 weeks pregnant with DC2 again 2nd cycle aged 39

TheDogsMissingBollock · 17/10/2014 19:55

At 30 took 4 mths, at 34 took 3 mths. Wdnt ideally have waited further after m/c at 29. Didnt want to lengthen the odds.

IShallCallYouSquishy · 17/10/2014 19:49

Fell pregnant with DS without even trying age 30 Smile

Anotheronesoon · 17/10/2014 19:47

33 got pregnant second month of trying with ds1, ds2 came along 18 months later - first try at concieving- only took the once ( I was 34 at conception)! I had told dh that it would take a while to catch- he was a bit taken aback and felt a bit cheated out of months of fun trying!

BobsyBoo · 17/10/2014 19:30

I fell pregnant with my first without trying at 33.

However I'm now 38 and I have been trying for #2 for nearly 2 years so it's been very interesting to read stories of ladies on this thread in their late thirties/early forties conceiving easily especially as my doctor has said they won't run anymore tests because it's my age.

Katewright699 · 17/10/2014 18:54

Thankyou melon...sorry to hear about your mc :( but glad all was well after xx

Yes, aged 34 got a bfp in first month of trying (sadly ended in a mmc), left it a month then conceived again in first month of trying and all turned out well.

Good luck!
